I’ll be the first to admit that I’m completely inept when it comes to electronics. I either do something stupid that screws them up, or they find a way to turn against me. So no huge surprise when I somehow jam my vacuum while cleaning up after my parrot, whose latest hobby is shredding newspaper. I first contemplated taking apart the vacuum myself, but the«Risk of electric shock» sticker was a reminder that, again, electronics and I don’t mix.(Thanks sticker warning!) Instead, I called The Vacuum Shoppe and left a message, and Tim, owner and vacuum repair guy, promptly returned my phone call. I explained my conundrum and inquired about the maintenance. Unfortunately they no longer have a store front, so Tim picks up your vacuum, repairs it, and brings it back. I was worried it was going to be a whole big to-do, but Tim picked up my vacuum at a convenient time that worked for me. I also received a «Claim Check» and business card. He was very friendly and polite. I received a call the very next day letting me know that my vacuum was repaired and ready to go. He, again, was able to return my vacuum to me at a time that was convenient. He ended up unclogging it, cleaned it, and replaced an internal filter. I know it’s a bit pathetic, but I was super excited to get my vacuum back within 2 days.(I, um, happily vacuumed right away.) $ 45 later, it’s working like it was pre-clog. Now, if I could only make the uniform lines my grandmother did so well… DEFINITELY support your local small business and give Tim at The Super Vacuum Shoppe a call if you end up with vacuum issues!

What was your experience like the last time you bought a vacuum cleaner? If it was like mine, it went like this: Go to WalMart, look at all the vacuums and picked one. Took it home and hoped it was the right one for what I needed. The problem with my vacuum is that it is heavy and hard to bring up and down the stairs. I decided I wanted another vacuum so I could have one for each level. I heard about the Super Vacuum Shoppe opening in Addison, so I decided to check them out. I walked in and was greeted immediately. I notice a line of different vacuums all which appeared to have been refurbished. I explained what I wanted and that I had a dog that never stopped shedding. I was directed to two different vacuums that he said would be perfect for what I needed. I was told why they would be good for my situation. He even explained the vacuums are guaranteed. I bought one of the vacuums he suggested and was given an extra bag. He even brought the vacuum to my car! I brought it home and started to vacuum. Wow! It has so much suction, it might be my main vacuum! They also have filters, belts, bags and any other supply your current vacuum might need. Great price, great service and great products. You can be sure I will be going there next time I need a vacuum or supply for my vacuum.(oh and they also repair doorbells and intercoms.)
