Food wasn’t too bad. Chicken parm had more breading than actual chicken. It was also drenched in sauce. I suppose the name is very fitting.

I’d like to point out I’ve worked in Italian restaurants before and this is not a biased review. My fiancé, my coworkers and I walked in and were shocked at how hole-in-the-wall the city of Adrian really is. The pomodoro sauce was phenomenal. You can most definitely tell it simmered for 3 hours. Loved it, definitely recommend it!

The best Italian restaurant I have ever eaten at. The Chicken Romantic soup is spectacular. The menu description doesn’t do it justice, but I recommend it, highly. The calamari is pretty good as an appetizer. They are lightly breaded, which is different from most places. I have never had bad service and have never had to wait too long too be sat. 30 minutes was the longest and that was Daddy daughter dance night.

So damn good I forgot to take a picture ! Sicilian style pizza with fresh ingredients. Homemade everything dressing, pizza crust etc. Quaint cute romantic restaurant with friendly staff. Excellent drink specials. Green tea mango chili lime margarita was to die for! Get there early the place gets crowded at dinner time.

Love this place but kinda pricy! Owners are very nice and employees are okay! Kinda pushy to turn the tables! I always feel rushed when I’m in there or the exact opposite and I feel neglected!

Sauce provides one of the best restaurant experiences in Adrian. It’s not just the food(although that is excellent … especially the mozzarella caprese salad and anything with the blush sauce), it’s the atmosphere, the staff, and the feeling of family whenever you walk in. People who have been in Adrian a while will know this as the former Mister Ed’s. It has the same brick walls and it’s definitely recognizable as the same spot, but it has been updated. There are three seating areas: the front room, which has the bar and a mix of hightops and regular tables(most of them meant for no more than four people); the back room, which is great for groups; and an outdoor patio that’s bricked-in enough to make you forget that you’re basically right next to a parking lot. Any of these spots is a good choice. Having been here with large groups many times — including groups that constantly have new members showing up and others drifting off from time time to time — I can attest to the staff being very on-the-ball and not at all fazed by people moving around, spontaneously rearranging tables, hopping over to another table to visit with a friend they spotted there, and so on. One of my favorite appetizers is the mozzarella caprese(already mentioned), and the chicken tramonto(which I think is the house soup) is a nice creamy soup that has just the right amount of tomato. The ravioli with blush sauce is amazing — ask for extra bread to soak up all of the sauce when you’re done, because you’ll definitely want to.(And they won’t mind.) If you’re a regular, the staff will get to know you and your drink selection pretty quickly. Monday is half-price wine night if you’re looking for a way to keep the bill in check, although overall the prices are very reasonable. Dress however you like — there really aren’t any coat-and-tie places in Adrian — you won’t be out of place in a T-shirt, but you won’t be out of place if you dress up, either. If you’re planning on going during First Fridays downtown or a major festival, be prepared to wait for a table — it can get pretty busy. But you can always grab a drink at the bar(or find some friends who already have a table and chat with them while you wait — it’s that kind of place). The front can get noisy and crowded when it’s busy, but it’s quieter in the back, and the outdoor patio can be very mellow. Highly recommended.

Just go here to drink. My party of 8 waited a reasonable amount of time for a table and when we were finally seated they put us up against the wall like were a bad little kid. We actually faced the wall! I’m still laughing that they thought this was okay!

I first visited Sauce’s location in 1968 when it was called Mr. Ed’s. It remained that for many years and was a favorite of mine. In fact, in 1968 I had my first«legal» drink at Mr. Ed’s. I was crushed when, after several reincarnations, it closed, seemingly for good. To my delight, the present owners, Kim & Dave, reopened it as the greatest Italian style restaurant… Sauce. I am an avowed regular now. They call me «Chianti Dave» as I love their house Chianti, especially on Mondays when it is half price at $ 2.50 a glass. I love the food, staff, atmosphere. The steaks are great. I highly recommend Sauce for lunch or dinner, or just anytime! They make a killer lasagna called«Grandma Merle’s Lasagna.» It is to die for along with SEVERAL glasses of Chianti. I also love the great salads! I’d eat there EVERYDAY if I could afford it!

I went for lunch, it wasn’t busy. The bread was excellent, and I had a very tasty portabello sandwich with delicious fries. The service was decent. It was a good value for high quality food. I look forward to trying this place again. Update: came a second time, the service improved, and my friend and I had a very good lunch.

Nice service and management. The food is alright. The alfredo was nothing I would return for… same goes for the house salad. The menu has many options. Clean and comfortable dining experience.

The place is great. Eggplant parm and the chicken Marcella are great. Only negative the bar was quieter than the dinning room. Had to move away so we could hear as we we seated next to a table of four obnoxious overweight woman. The staff was pleasant and the food is great overall. Hope this place stays open.

Spaghetti sauce and meatballs had no flavor. I can’t recommend this placed based on the meal I had. Did not get a salad and I not bread and butter to snack on. Didn’t get and garlic bread with the meal. Would have been better going to another place. Was very disappointed with the meal. Placed looked nice and had a lot of reviews. So sad they are cheap on seasonings.

This is a duplicate listing with the WRONG business name. Go to «Sauce Italian Grill & Pub» and leave your comments there. Read my review there as well. Whoever created this duplicate listing with the wrong name was too lazy to look up the correct name. If I owned a business and somebody bastardized the name like that… I’d be pissed. It’s Sauce Italian Grill & Pub. Enjoy.

Really excited about the new sparkling wines they are supposed to be getting in. A few of my friends and I have really fallen in love with the new line of Michigan sparking wines from M. Lawrence and when we asked the owner he grabbed a pen and paper and wrote it down and said sure he would get it in. Can not wait.

No idea how I missed reviewing Sauce until now. This is our go-to spot for a nice dinner, and wine selection, in the area. House Merlot is a bit on the sweet side for a Merlot but it is good. I would stay away from the House Pinot Grigio — way too sweet. We had the Monday meatball special, and cheese bread. Hearty, cheesy and just the right amount of garlic. Previous visit I tried the pesto gnocchi dish. That I would recommend, very well done. Service was spot on; we could not have asked for better.

Thank you Unilocal and all those who post. In Adrian for the night and wanted a nice place to eat. I got to Sauce in between lunch and dinner so I had a pizza, which was a great choice. Loved the thin crust and it was cooked perfectly. The wait staff very friendly and helpful. The owner was in and thanked me for coming in. Will definitely return when in town.. next time for dinner, menu looked yummy…

Service was mediocre at best, repeatedly over heard complaining employees, food served without flatware, and my «medium well» steak was rare. I probably should have kept it safe and ordered a pizza since it’s Italian and a pub, bizarre.

My boyfriend’s parents brought me here a while back and I really loved it. I’ve been back several times now and had all great experiences. I am not even super adventurous when it comes to trying new things but I keep trying something different every time here and it’s always great! The atmosphere is wonderful. =)

Started off great, however, we were seated next to a super drunk table of ladies where the birthday girl eventually threw up all over the place. I’ll get back to that. Good initial service, got some appetizers, all were good. All of the food was tasty, but as the table next to us got drunker and messier, management seemed to stay away. When the destroyed lady puked, no employees intervened to help. There was a guy with the group that was acting like he worked there, and very well may have. He was the one that brought the puker her last shot and eventually walked the plate of puke into the kitchen. This entire episode and how it was handled completely destroyed our evening. I would have complained to a manager except the only employee I saw after things fell apart was a trainee. In summation-food was really good. Our initial service was great. Trainee was outstanding. The way the drunkeness was handled was awful.

I LOVETHISPLACE!!! We try to eat here at least once a week. We have taken people from out of town here twice, its so great to have a place that we can be proud to share. Im Italian and NEVEREAT in Italian restaurants unless they have been recommended. I didnt get here for a year after they opened. We got a gift certificate for christmas, and have been going back ever since. Always get the calamari because it is the best I have ever eaten. The salads are excellent, pizza is great(except for the shrimp special) steak is perfect, chicken marsala. Its pricey but we make it a priority. We usually spend $ 65 – 70 per visit for two, because we always get appetizer, drinks, salad, and sometimes split entrée. We always have great service, and I like seeing the owner come to the tables.

This place is top notch for Adrian. Service was excellent. The place had great décor. I liked how they served pizza pie pans on top of big cans of tomatoes! Very neat idea! I wished they’d be playing the music that was in the bathroom in the dining room. I didn’t want to hear top 40 music at an Italian restaurant. Also, the Keno on the table tops took away from the classiness. The long Island was horrible. I do not recommend you order any mildly complicated drinks here. Stick with you calls, and wines. They had a nice menu with classics and a seasonal menu. I ordered the spring salad($ 12) and loved it. Creative and delicious. I wished it was a tad bigger with a bit more protein, but I loved the candies lemon peel and the walnuts with the fig dressing. Just great. My friend got the calamari. I don’t eat seafood, but the calamari didn’t smell like dead rotting fish and it seemed to be fried correctly. He also had the eggplant parm. I would not recommend it. The eggplant was sliced too thin and made it feel too heavily coated with breading, which absorbed too much oil and was greasy. I liked my salad so much I am a fan and I would return anytime I am in town to try more menu items. In the mean time, I hope they change up the music and move the keno to a single off sides location.
