This place is very slow. I’m not sure what is going on. And then our order wasn’t right. They put fries in when we ordered rice. Hmmm …

I knew a man, Bojangles and he danced for you In worn out shoes Silver hair, a ragged shirt and baggy pants The old soft shoe He jumped so high, jumped so high Then he’d lightly touch down… Does anybody remember when Sammy Davis Jr. performed this song in the 70’s on pretty much every variety show on TV? Yeah, I didn’t think so, but when I found a vintage clip of one of his performances on YouTube, all I could see was the shiny lycra one-piece jumpsuit he used to wear. That has nothing to do with this Bojangles except I think I may have been wearing the«ragged shirt and baggy pants» when Jamie W. and I decided to stop here on the way to the Raleigh-Durham Airport. We kept seeing Bojangles everywhere on our road trip in the South, so we wanted to give it a try despite my usual aversion to fast food chains. I went back to basics with a $ 5.792-Piece Combo with 2 Sides, so of course, I had a leg and thigh. For my sides, I had the green beans and a scoop of their mashed potatoes with gravy. It comes with a biscuit(photo: ). It was what I was expecting — good chicken, nothing extraordinary, just crispy enough but not too bready. The sides were prison cafeteria-level. The standout, if there was one, was the biscuit because it was bigger and fluffier than you would expect from a chain operation. While the drive-thru was busy, there were hardly any customers in the place on an early Sunday afternoon, just three guys at at table with the biggest box of fried chicken I had ever seen. Maybe they need to see Sammy dance in his jumpsuit. FOOD — 3 stars… fried chicken the way you’d expect it from a chain AMBIANCE — 3 stars… clean…I’ll give it that SERVICE — 2.5 stars… on automatic pilot but efficient TOTAL — 3 stars… Mr. Bojangles, go on and dance…

It’s Bojangles baby. The food and service here are good. My only complaint regarding this specific location is that it can be a bitch to get in and out of when coming in on 158 south.

Come on Thursday nights and get an ear full of some pretty awesome local chaps strumming their«guitars«(some home made)! We love this place! We come here every Wednesday night on our way home from church. Chicken’s always fresh… can’t say the same about the sweet tater pies… ask for a fresh one :)

OK, we go here a LOT. Mainly because they ALWAYS get it right. I am not the biggest fan of the fast food, but NOONE and I mean NOONE else at this exit can get an order correct. Now as for today’s experience. When we pulled in at about 12:30 the place was PACKED. We decided to go inside to get our order to go quicker. There had to be 10 cars in line at the drive thru. We got inside and there was a family attempting to order. They did not have a command of English. Their kids did, but they were no help. They were either to ashamed or they didn’t care. Anyway, they took FOREVER to decide what to order and then to order. The young lady behind the counter could not have been nicer or helpful. Whatever the manager is paying her isn’t enough. I will continue to go here often.
