Today, I went to Jason at Elevations Salon for a Keratin Smoothing treatment. I had purchased a Living Social deal for $ 99 so I wanted to try it out. This was my first time doing a Keratin treatment(or any such smoothing process). I had a hard time finding the salon at first — my GPS took me to a nearby nursing home instead! The salon is on a side street next to the Walgreens, drive around the back of the white building and you’ll see the entrance to Elevations. The salon was small but very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. I’ll update my review in a few weeks to follow-up on the Keratin results. The process was fairly quick — I was expecting it to take longer with my long, thick hair, but it was only 2 hours. Jason started by shampooing my hair, then blowdrying it frizzy. Then he put on the Keratin stuff, and I sat under a dryer for about 20 min. Next, he blow-dried it straight with a round brush. Lastly, he flat-ironed it. I bought the Keratin shampoo and conditioner($ 14 each) that are supposed to make the treatment last longer.(But, you’re not allowed to wash it for 3 days.) It’s too early to tell the results, but I’m happy with my experience with Elevations so far. PS: I noticed a sign that they are running a $ 99 special right now for the keratin treatment, so if you missed the Groupon/Living Social deals, you can still get a good price.
