We stayed at the farmhouse cottage. It was amazing. There were three people in our party and plenty of room for everyone to spread out. A full kitchen and 2 bathrooms! The décor was simple and elegant. The farmhouse staff are the nicest people. They really take pride in ensuring you have a loyalty experience. Both breakfasts and our Farmhouse dinner were top notch! We will be back again!

Hands down, the purest opulence of Charlottesville. Treated like royalty from check in to check out. You must dine at the chef’s table. Chef Yannick is seconds away from a James Beard award.

I completely agree with what everyone else said — the location, rooms, food and especially the staff are all top notch. If you are looking for a place to stay in central Virginia wine country, look no further. The Farmhouse cannot be beat.

Yes, this really is as good as it gets! We started off by being greeted as we entered and smiled and greeted by every staff member throughout our 2-night stay. The amount of staff they have on hand is very impressive and they know how to ensure you stay happy! The accommodations are amazing and comfortable… bed is outstanding, the right amount of firm with a soft top. Bedding very clean, pressed and perfect! Towels were clean and perfect. All facilities were clean, the only recommendation we could make is to do a better job of dusting. They have Keurigs in a couple of places with plenty of cups to ensure you can always get a hot cup of fresh coffee when you want it. They provide water in the room and even a free bottle of wine in your room upon arriving. Then the 5:30PM — 6:30PM wine hours with amuse bouche were outstanding! Since Veritas has some pretty outstanding wine, it’s like a buffet of wine with plenty of picturesque places to sit & sip! The grounds are beautiful landscaped and well-manicured! Plenty of pretty places to walk or sit and enjoy wine. The breakfast each day was also nicely done, just the right amount to hold you over until lunch. Plenty of coffee, fresh-squeezed OJ, herb-infused water and sparkling wine to quench your morning thirst and go with your main breakfast dish, fruit and more bread. The Ploughman’s Supper was HUGE and FLAVORFUL! Lots of meat, cheese and other delights with sauces and fresh-made baguettes… Everything locally sourced! We can’t wait to go back for our next visit!

The farmhouse is beyond cozy. Each room has a unique style but that are all amazing! The staff is phenomenal and very attentive. I can’t say enough about how lovely the whole experience was, highly recommend this venue for a very organic and intimate wedding!

I hardly ever right reviews, but this my daughter’s wedding, so… The staff at The Farmhouse at Veritas made sure everything was perfect for my daughter, they arranged the flowers and cake, as well as the seven course meal. Everything was superb. Really, everything. If you are thinking of a small wedding venue, I can’t recommend them highly enough. Thank you so much, everyone there!

5 Stars does not even do this place the justice it deserves. I did a couples retreat and at first I thought it was slightly pricey but it was so worth it and they gave a military discount. The grounds were gorgeous as were the rooms. We stayed in the Devon and it was very nice and cozy. I would recommend the Nottigham and the Surry because I loved the way the bathrooms were set up. You have to schedule the private dinner if you are there on a Fri or Sat night. There is a cocktail hour from 5ish to 6ish with complimentary drinks and a little snack. The food was 5 star. The menu changes but the Chef Andy was amazing. Every morning there was a gourmet breakfast with their sparkling wine Scintilla and coffee if you prefer. I just can not say how amazing this was. Jose, Leticia, and Laura were helpful and always around. Fresh cookies if you desire a late night snack. Beautifull flowers everywhere. I can go on and on. I will def go here again. Loved it so much.

This was my first bed and breakfast experience and it was fantastic! The food and service was amazing. At first I thought it seemed a bit expensive, but honestly you get what you pay for. The farmhouse is private(only 5 or 6 rooms), the waitstaff go above and beyond, and the chefs are amazing. Diane helped us book our room and Chloe set up a private tour of the vineyard.

Veritas delivered an unforgettable weekend. From the moment of check-in until our reluctant departure two days later, the service, food, accommodations, and amenities were beyond all expectations for a B&B. Despite the awful cold/rainy conditions outside, we had a marvelous time. The chef really provided meals that encapsulate the farm to table vision. Also it was great to be able to actually see the chef in action in an up-close, conversational manner(the modern/lux kitchen is the very first thing you see when you walk into the B&B). Truly can’t wait to go back!

My husband and I were celebrating our first anniversary, and we treated both sets of parents to join as a thank-you for the prior year’s wedding festivities. We booked the Surrey, Devon, and Cornwall, and all three rooms were unique and charming. When we arrived it was cool and overcast, which made the Farmhouse feel very cozy and intimate. During the welcome hour of wine & hors d’oeuvres the chef had started preparing dinner, which added to the homely atmosphere. Speaking of the dinner… it was delicious and our parents were saying it was one of the best meals they’ve experienced. The breakfasts were also delicious — we mostly stuck to the savory option but the sweet option sounded great too. The weather when we visited was beautiful, where we enjoyed every meal under the gazebo. It really feels as if you are dining among the vines. For the staff, Chloe was very welcoming, and Leticia was always so sweet and cheery. Both chefs were also personable. The décor, food, and hospitality is top-notch, and we already can’t wait to come back next year!

While I seldom endorse a business in print, I am making exception in this instance. My wife and I visited The Farmhouse( ), a B&B outside Charlottesville, Virginia, this past week as part of celebrating her 65th birthday. The venue could not have been more perfect with spacious accommodations, great wine tastings, excellent food, and superb service. Plus, the weather was mild and most enjoyable. The Farmhouse sits on the grounds of Veritas Vineyard, the site of our middle daughter’s wedding in 2010. The staff could not have been more gracious, as was our experience in 2010 and on a subsequent visit last year. While I am by no means a wine connoisseur, the different selections of wine that I tasted were delightful. I will leave it to a greater authority to talk about the myriad of oaky, fruity tastes, and more. I just know that I loved the ambiance, wine, food, and service! The grounds surrounding the vineyard and The Farmhouse are impeccable, with a touch of English gardening that draws from the heritage of the couple, which owns the business. They migrated to the United States many years ago; and it is today a true family business with three children and other relatives active in the management. All in all, the activities, with a tour of the vineyard’s wine processing during the harvest, tastings, a picnic lunch, and the Ploughman’s Dinner served at The Farmhouse in an outside gazebo, as but one choice of seating, made for a wonderful visit. And to top it off, all was followed up with a sumptuous breakfast the morning of our departure. The experience made for a grand birthday remembrance. If you are passing through central Virginia, consider staying at least one night at The Farmhouse, and reward yourself for a good, productive life with some excellent wine and all that accompanies a few glasses. The Farmhouse is the best B&B I have ever visited.

The first time my life stayed here we had just experienced a tragic loss and we were looking to get away for a few days. We had never stayed in a bed-and-breakfast before but iIt turned out to be the best decision possible. Since that time we have tried several other bed-and-breakfasts but none have lived up to this one! There is literally nothing bad to say about this place! The farmhouse is beautiful, the rooms are nice the family and staff that run and own the business are fantastic, the chef is a friendly guy who cooks amazing breakfast(and dinner on Friday and Saturday), the tasting room is beautiful and their wine is fantastic! Their Cabernet Franc in particular is incredible! It’s quite an example of what the Monticello AVA has to offer! Keep in mind that The Farmhouse isn’t cheap to stay in… But considering the included food, wine(both a free bottle waiting in your room and with daily wine hour), hospitality and how nice it is the price actually seems very reasonable to me! For a romantic and relaxing getaway there is no finer place.

The Farmhouse is welcoming, clean and comfortable. It had none of the doilies or weird knickknacks that I typically associate with B&Bs, but did have a pool table, cozy fireplaces, and warm chocolate chip cookies. Plus, delicious wine and amazing breakfast each morning, with a sweet or savory option. Chloe had great recommendations for restaurants in Charlottesville, and made sure we were well taken care of during our visit. The winery is a short, pretty walk away, and the property is in close proximity to C’ville and other wineries and breweries in the area. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed at The Farmhouse this week to celebrate our anniversary and check out the vineyards in the area. The Farmhouse and Veritas proved to be the perfect choice. The reservation and check in process made us immediately feel at home. We were met by Jose who showed us to our room — The Nottingham. We were the only guests at the Farmhouse during our stay so we had plenty of attention from the staff which a various times included Jose, Chole, Joel, Andy and Lititia. The pre –dinner beverage and appetizer on our second night there perfectly set the stage for Chef Joel’s wonderful anniversary dinner. It’s hard to identify the serving we liked best but we are still talking about the Country Rabbit Rillettes, Roasted Garlic Biscuits, and Joel’s deconstructed Coq Au Vin. Among the wines from Veritas we like the Sparkling Scintilla, the 2012 White Star and Merlot along with a surprisingly good desert pairing called Kenmar. Breakfast on both days we were there was both wonderful way to both start our day and enough to carry us toward the next dinner. Our room was large, laid out and appointed well and, since we were the only guests, quiet. Overall a great location, beautiful setting, attentive staff and cuisine that makes you want to return soon.

My wife and I stayed at The Farmhouse this past week. In a nutshell, Fabulous! From reservations, to check-in and all the way through to check-out and departure our stay was perfect. We were met by Alex who saw us to our room and met Patricia for a pre-dinner beverage and appetizer plate. We had dinner at the farmhouse and Patricia continued doting on us while Chef Joel prepared our meal. The four course dinner w/Veritas wine pairings was terrific and discussing the meal with the Chef and exploring aromas, sights, textures and tastes made for a great experience. We stayed in the Devon, which was sufficiently quiet. The early morning offered us a nice stroll up the road and ended with a cup of coffee and a seat under the gazebo as the mist rose from the nearby mountains. At 9am we sat for breakfast and enjoyed a 3 course preparation that offered us one savory and one sweet entrée that, of course, we switched up half way through the meal. I asked my wife: «and we haven’t done this once a month, why?» If you need a get-a-way or you are passing through central Virginia, The Farmhouse is a must stay BnB.

We spent two nights at the Farmhouse for our anniversary. We have visited the Veritas winery over the years and were already aware of their good reputation. The stay at the Farmhouse exceeded our expectations. We had a comfortable room, the surroundings were beautiful, and the staff very friendly. We sprang for dinner one night and had one of the best meals we’ve eaten. Highly recommended!

My first time staying at a bed and breakfast and I was blown away. The breakfast was incredible. I dined on the deck overlooking the mountains, staff was friendly and the place is spotless. I couldn’t hear anyone else in the house(6 rooms). Chocolate croissant was soo good.
