Had a wonderful Sunday here. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had a groupon that includes wine tasting, a guided tour and a picnic lunch. I think we had 6 tastings all in all. I wasn’t too wow-ed by the wines, but the tour itself was enjoyable and smooth. You can tell that Steve, our tour guide, has done this countless times with his team. Highly recommended. Oh, and when the tour is over, be sure to head to the tasting room and try the wines that you did not get to try during the tour. Then get a glass of something you like to go along with your picnic lunch, and sit outside on the picnic tables facing the vineyard. Great way to spend an afternoon.

Friends and I rented the home on the property for the weekend. Ended it with a quick tour of the property. Rows upon rows of of grapevines line the properties. The wine tour was surprisingly revealing, showing us the barrels, tasting from them and even showing us how it’s bottled. Steve is fantastic and it’s so refreshing to see someone who genuinely loves what they do. I have friends that are club members and will definitely recommend visiting Agua Dulce!

From check in to the last dark chocolate chip paired with a Syrah Port, we had a grand time at the Agua Dulce Winery. The hostess graciously welcome us and helped us settle in. Steve was our host for an informative stroll over this productive winery. He was a veritable fount of information sharing the interesting history and the journey of the fruit from vine to bottle. This particular tour included a tasty lunch which can be enjoyed in the wine library or on picnic table on their spacious grounds. Thanks for an entertaining and fun Saturday afternoon.

My husband and visited Agua Dulce Winery for the first time and we loved it! The tour and wine tasting was so much fun. But the picnic lunch was beyond relaxing and romantic. Our tour guide Steve was awesome! Very cool, warm, welcoming. Which is why we are now wine club members

I’ve heard of Agua Dulce Winery from some friends who did some tasting here. Winery in the desert? I had to look into it and I was pleasantly surprised by the photos and my fellow Unilocalers’ reviews of the place. Since we were going to the area to visit the Vasquez Rocks, I thought it’d be a good idea to combine the two since they are 5 minutes away from each other. It turned out to be a great idea to go to a winery after a desert hike! There are a few wineries in the area on Sierra Hwy. besides Agua Dulce Winery, but I liked the Groupon deal($ 39 for a tour, tasting, picnic basket and 2 souvenir glasses to do the tasting and take home as a souvenir– a great idea!). You can do the tour only on the weekends, they have 2 slots(12−2pm and 3−5pm). You need to call ahead and schedule it since the tours get sold out, they’re very popular. When I called the winery, the lady I talked to was very together, arranged everything and even asked if we wanted a vegetarian option for our meal. We chose the 3 pm slot. The area is very cool, a nice respite from the town, you feel like in another world. The tour started on time, by sampling a cold Chardonnay(couldn’t have asked for a better start!). Steve, who gave us the tour is fun, very energetic and passionate about wine. During the tour, we tasted a Cabernet, a Zinfandel(my favorite) and a Shiraz. The actual tour was fun, we did the tasting while taking the tour, from the actual barrels. It lasted about an hour(everything is well organized, you’re taken care of), then we got the picnic food, enjoyed some lunch outdoors and came back for a last tasting, a nice, sweet dessert wine and dark chocolate. Great ending! The picnic food was good, too, we got turkey sandwiches, potato salad, vegetable salad and a chocolate chip cookie, very delicious. Free parking, you can just stop by for a tasting or nice glass of wine, they have events here, $ 5 tasting on Wednesdays, it’s a cool place to relax, get away from it all. This wasn’t my first winery tour, but I really enjoyed the laid back vibe of the place(the opposite of pretentious). They close at 6pm, but you can still stay on the property, drink another glass of wine, walk around, look at the animals(they have some cute ones in the back on the farm), enjoy the peace and the sunset, which we did. Nice getaway so close to LA!

Staff is great, Steve is awesome. They have good wines. My favorite is their Cabernet Sauvignon. I suggest taking the wine tour at least once, and also the wine and paint with Amy. You get to keep your painting with the wine and paint, and you get to keep your glass with the tour. If you sign up for the membership you get to keep a nice big glass, perfect for red wine. If you start coming often like we do, you can purchase twelve bottles at once and get one free, good deal of you’re going to get bottles anyway. If you’re gong to do the tour get it from groupon, you get a nice deal on the cost. You also adopt a row of grapes when you become a member and your name plaque will be placed at the entrance of the row. Really cool.

Got the deal off living social and so glad I chose this since there are so many wine tours and tastings to choose from! The property is absolutely beautiful and the staff were more than friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous. The tastings were perfect and they invited you to taste more. The lunch was basic but perfect for the setting and was actually better than we thought it was going to be. The sandwich was very good quality. The gift shop has a lot of great things to accompany wine and cheeses. The prices are very reasonable as well. The tour was very informative and entertaining. The barrel tastes were fun and something you don’t get to do everyday. The tour didn’t feel rushed at all and we were all invited to stay as long as liked to look around. Photo ops are endless! We will be back to do it again and I’ve told all my friends about it!

Cute little winery up in Agua Dulce. I’ve been here a few times, and although it’s not the absolute most beautiful winery there is, it’s not as far as others and it’s got it’s charm. There’s even a little tiny farm in the back which I think is super cute. The wine is really just OK. I’ve tried them all lol the younger wines are not so good in my opinion, like at all. Not worth the buy, go for a decent bottle. Lots of cute kitchen nick nacks in the main area, it’s fun to check it out. But grab your glass and go out back, walk around, it’s quite beautiful and secluded for when you want some alone time ;) lol! But anyway, it’s worth going if you want some winery fun in a mountain setting.

The girls and I had a great time at Agua Dulce Winery. About 45 minutes from the SF Valley. We bought the Living Social deal and was well worth it. A must buy! The wines were tasty! Steve the host was very informative about everything on the grounds. The most memorable part of the visit was the wine stomping barrel tribute to Lucille Ball! Very cool! We will be definitely coming back to visit on Oct 10 for their festivities!

I’ve fallen in love with this winery. My first trip was when my husband and I took the barrel tasting tour with picnic I purchased on groupon, best thing I’ve done! So fun, informative, and of course yummy. The vineyard is realxing, cozy and cute. We also got wine glasses to take home, our new favorite. Steve, not sure of his job title but he gave us the tour… he is simply amazing. Steve, is so passionate, funny, and knowledgeable about the wine and winery. After out experience with him it let us realize that at this winery they’re not wine snobs they’re «cork dorks» and are proud of their work as they should be. We also took the blending class on valentines day,(Steve led the class). Let me just say, best experience ever and may become a new tradition for my husband and i. Worth every penny! Highly recommend you add them on Facebook for their latest events. Overall, great place give it a try yourself I’m sure you’ll love it as much as we do.

We arrived at 11am and our tour was to start at noon. We each got a glass of wine and strolled the property. It is definitely a place to just let go and relax. Steve led our group tour and tasting. He was knowledgeable and witty. We enjoyed our lunch then joined the owners Barry and Donna at their Super Bowl party. We thought we were going for a nice drive with a destination at the end. Boy were we wrong! We stayed for 6 hours of wine, company and a great time. We will be back for this wonderful wine and atmosphere.

I bought a Living Social deal for $ 39, which included a guided wine tour, 2 barrel tastings, 1 flight of 3 tastings, picnic lunch, and souvenir glass for two people. I believe a regular single tasting tour bought directly from the winery is $ 30 so this was definitely a steal. This was actually my second time doing this and I really enjoy it! You need to call ahead of time to schedule your tour as they do fill up. Both tour guides I’ve experienced were very knowledgeable about the winery and wines. The wines are good and I especially enjoyed the tastings straight from the barrel. The lunch was great — you have a choice of roast beef or turkey sandwiches and it comes with two sides(potato salad and cucumber salad) and a chocolate chip cookie! Be sure to walk around the vicinity in the back to see the vineyard and some animals(llamas, goats, chickens, horses, and a bull). I recommend doing the 3 p.m. tour and sitting at one of the picnic tables overlooking the vineyard while you eat and watching the sun set. Overall, a pleasant experience. Check-in on Unilocal and get a free Agua Dulce Winery key chain!

Got a LivingSocial deal here as a gift for their wine tasting! You’ve got to call and schedule a tour as this place gets busy, but it includes all sorts of cool things like 6 different wines to taste(a few of which are straight out of the barrel!), a walking tour of their barrel house, information about how they make their wine from vine to bottle, complimentary Agua Dulce Winery glasses(which you immediately break in by tasting all of their wines in), and a sandwich lunch picnic to tuck in to at the end of the tour. It can be enjoyed on one of their tables outside their storefront or back by the vineyards. We got there a little early, but had fun perusing their shop while we waited. They don’t just sell their wines, but a bunch of various items from lotions and soaps to cheeses and wine cork holders. There’s a lot to look at. They also have a long bar in the back if you’d rather skip the tour and sip their wine inside. I enjoyed all of the wines that were sampled to us, except their Port Syrrah. It was WAY too strong for my tastes, despite the chocolate chips I had to devour with each sip. Smartly they saved that one for last, but it did not sour me on their others and was considering buying a bottle… until I saw the prices. They went anywhere from $ 30 to $ 90! As a starving grad student, that’s a bit out of my price range. They do, however, now sell plastic wine bottle, a red or white, marketed with two plastic cups on the bottom to take on picnics and other such places you wouldn’t want to bring glass which are cheaper($ 18) so I bought one of those. Come here for a tasting or a glass, but unless you’ve got tons of disposable income don’t expect to be bringing anything home with you.

Not a terrible experience, I am glad we stopped in. They have really nice merchandise! The bar areas were packed and it took some time before we could start our tasting. Our server was distracted and granted it was busy — she was answering the phone, pouring wine and helping people pick up their wine cases for the weekend. It just took away from the relaxing side of things. For $ 10 we were able to try 9 wines(a few we had to split one sample between 2 of us) but only one white wine was in the bunch. All pretty good though. I liked the Merlot best. You could sit in or out if you chose to walk out with a glass of wine. There is heavy emphasis on joining the wine club here. We opted not to on that day but may keep it in mind. There are just so many wineries around within a 2 hour drive. I found it very pricey too, prices more on the reasonable side if you pay club prices. Left with a small purchased habanero and pineapple dip to try at home. Also, for checking in on Unilocal here, I collected my free key cork key chain! Better for larger groups than some other wineries but still, you have to be patient if it is busy and you opt to stick around.

Service certainly leaves something to be desired here. Both times I’ve come I’ve gotten a side of disgruntled attitude with my glass of wine. I thought the first time was a fluke, which is why I returned, but nope, it’s been consistently dissatisfactory. Besides that this place is fine, not good, but fine as far as wineries near-isn to Los Angeles go. Were I feeling like a farther drive I’d certainly make the trek to Santa Barbara instead. But this place is good for a quick trip with minimal traffic. I came here with my sister about a week ago, and we ordered a glass of red zinfandel to split. It ran me $ 8, and on the previous visit(about a month prior) the same glass had cost $ 7… That inconsistency was annoying, but I wasn’t in the mood to argue with the already irritable woman serving us so we paid and headed out to the gazebo in the back to sip and take in the scenery, which is quite pretty, and the major draw of this place in my opinion. Unfortunately, as was the case the time before when I visited, there were a few inattentive mothers with kids running a muck with the animals, throwing rocks, and generally being disruptive so we didn’t have as enjoyable of a time as we might have had. My sister did seem to have a pretty good time though, which was the most important part: this was her first winery experience. The next time I bring a visitor to Vasquez Rocks(which is nearby and definitely worth checking out), and we decide to go out for wine after, we’ll be checking out the winery next door: Reyes Winery.

I had a wonderful experience using a Groupon here. For $ 25, we enjoyed a winery tour and tasting and lunch for two. It was great to see the entire process and our tour guide, Steve, was warm and knowledgeable and friendly. The property is clean and beautiful and it was cool to actually learn about the conditions that affect the taste of wine. You could also buy $ 7 glasses or full bottles of the wines you liked to take home. After the tour, we were free to sit in the gazebo area at picnic tables. They have some animals in the back(think llamas, goats) and some games set-up(cornhole, horseshoes). We spent a few hours there and had a blast. If you want to combine this with some day activity, we also went to the nearby Vasquez Rocks and exerted ourselves with some climbing and picture taking, enjoing the beautiful view. Highly recommend this as a day trip!
