I would give them 0 stars if i could. I hired PGI(Travis and Duane) for electrical work on my kitchen remodel. Long story short, they are unreliable and unprofessional. My first impression was that they seemed competent and personable. It seemed like they did what was asked but after they were paid we found that work was incomplete and have tried several times to contact them to rectify the issues. They are unresponsive after more than 2 weeks of repeated phone calls, messages and texts. Before the work started, they would text back right away but when we found that some of the tasks were incomplete and needed to be rectified, they only picked up the phone if we called from another number or blocked out our numbers. We tried their work number and their personal cell phones… When we did reach them, they said they would stop by to take a look but after the 3rd time of their promise to come by and then flaking, we gave up. Below is a list of all the problems with their work: — Prior to the start of the electrical work, it was agreed that they would make a dedicated outlet for our refrigerator. We found out after the fact they did not do this and instead tied it to the garbage disposal switch — The wiring for the original dedicated fridge outlet is just somewhere dead in the wall so the breaker is not used. Of course they didn’t tell us, we had to figure it out by ourselves — The recessed lighting was not installed properly and the housing is not flush against the ceiling(it’s basically falling out). What’s worse is that all of the recessed lights flickered when turning on or dimming the switch. They«assessed the problem» and cut MORE drywall holes because they thought it was the wiring, and switched out the wiring. When this didn’t work, they concluded that we needed to switch out our entire breaker box which would cost another $ 3,000. We needed some time to think about it, and that night after they left, I figured out the flickering issue was caused by the installation of 2 dimmers on the same 3-way circuit(one for each side of the kitchen)(I have no electrical education or experience). The fix? A $ 43-way switch bought at Home Depot on one end and a dimmer switch on the other and ta-da it’s fixed — The junction box cover for the fridge was left uncovered, told us they were looking for the cover online or something. but still have not heard back so it’s sitting there uncovered — They left a TON of holes in our drywall — at least 19 holes total, looking back and realizing all the mistakes and half assed work they did, we realized they probably didn’t need to make ALL the holes in our wall. A studfinder with a wire scanner could have prevented all these holes. We have been slowly patching it up ourselves but you can see in the pictures how many holes they had left — The dishwasher outlet junction box was left protruding from the wall so we were unable to install the dishwasher until we fixed it ourselves — The junction box for the washer is protruding from the wall as well, I’ve been told that it should be recessed into the wall and not just sticking out — On top of that we bought the $ 150 for $ 100 voucher on Unilocal. We were supposed to get credit back and I think it’s to safe to say we aren’t getting it back The worst part of it is that there was stuff that we were waiting to sort out electrically before completing the kitchen remodel so our remodel was/is severely delayed due to their incompetence and unreliability. What I don’t understand is that Travis is supposed to be licensed yet all these simple mistakes or hacks were made. DONOT hire them, unless you want a lot of heartache and headache.
