This place has some great customer service and if you’re looking for a water bottle, well, you can’t go wrong. They have Swells, Hydro Flasks, Mizu bottles and local brands too. Expect to spend upwards of $ 30 – 40 for a bottle. They’ve got cleaners and holders too! This store has all the regular ‘surf’ or beach wear gear too like slippers, tshirts, board shorts, backpacks /Herschel day packs and purses, wallets and stickers. Lots to browse! –happy customer

This was on November walked in 8:50pm close to closing even if it’s closing time I never got a greeting or anything. There were two ladies I guess one of them was training but still no excuse. You would be teaching the new employee not to greet potential customers. Anyways we were buying hydroflasks and I didn’t know they had another rack with more colors since my friend was the one that pointed it out. But the associate didn’t even know where she was looking so their services to us was basically useless. its a good thing the have cheap flasks than downstairs otherwise i wouldn’t have bought anything since their sales associate are snobs.

What is the deal with these guys and the Hydroflask straw lids? On more than one occasion I’ve purchased a straw lid cap for my Hydroflask and what they do is they take the one you grab from the shelf and they swap it with one from behind the counter. The first time I had to go back because I picked out a pristine cover that had no scratches or any blemishes and when I took out the cover when I walked outside the store I saw that there were scratches and it looked dirty. I went back in and I asked them if I could have the one that I brought up to them and they actually said ok. The thing that bothered me was they didn’t even ask me if they could swap it, they turned around, slyly put the cover I brought into a box and grabbed another one and put it into the bag. That’s deceptive practices if you ask me. How the hell do I know that they aren’t replacing it with b stock merchandise and trying to sell it as a stock merch? That’s pretty deceptive if you ask me. Be open and honest with your customers. Thankfully Amazon is pretty much the same price and they don’t sell you used looking products. Shame on you T&C.

That’s twice now that I’ve not been greeted or even acknowledged. I browsed the first time through the entire store near closing time. I even had a dress in my hand ready for purchase. Everyone seemed busy but there weren’t that many customers. I figured because it was closing time, they were just trying to tidy up to go home. I understand that. I’ve worked before; I know how it feels. I’ve also received customer service training and know the importance of a simple smile. So I reconsidered my almost-purchase, and put it back where I found it. And left. I would try later during an earlier time to see if they would be any better. The store does not have a friendly vibe at all. I entered two hours prior to closing. Same thing. Man behind register closest to entrance does not even look at me. He’s working on something, but it’s not paperwork, so his brain isn’t focused on a complex task. I listened to other customers around the store and none of them were acknowledged, and no one smiled. A woman bought something at the register where the employee ran her purchase through. Neither seemed happy. Is it store policy to not be nice? Cuz there are plenty of other stores in the mall that I splurged at all because they greeted me and the store bloomed with positive force. Your loss, T&C. «Big mistake. Super disappointed in T&C and their service and returns. My son used his Xmas cash to buy an underwater phone case and was told by the girl that it would work on the iPhone 5C. Well it didn’t so when we went to return it, they wouldn’t give him his money back. Even though they messed up by not explaining the hard goods rtn policy at time of purchase. They tried to get a 12 yr old boy to buy board shorts instead! Where’s the stoke in that?! So disappointed in you guys. Went to Ala Moana and the team there were friendly and helpful! They more than restored my faith in T&C as being a local surf shop. I will only go to the Ala Moana location for now on and encourage others to do the same!

Called for directions since I hardly go to Ala Moana except for my trips to the Lego Store, Shirokiya or the Disney Store. Parked on the fourth floor parking and walked through the service entrance right up to the store. Not bad with baby in my arms. Immediately greeted upon entry into the store by a friendly and courteous employee. Told him exactly what I needed and he gave me several options, which were on spot. Found what I needed within 7 minutes and was out within 12. I was impressed with the customer service that it was given. Would I recommend this store and location to others? Definitely!!! I’ll be back for sure :)

Oh man, how the years have passed!!! I remember Town & Country Surf Shop was a tiny little place on Kam Hwy in Pearl City where the 7Eleven now stands! I used to go in there as a youth and drool over the freshly glassed boards on the old wooden racks… dreaming of the day I could afford one! If my memory serves me correctly, a board back then was around $ 125 bucks! Big money then, considering my first home made board costed my dad $ 65 bucks! T-shirts may have been like $ 10 and a bar of wax was .50cents… Ah, the days of my youth… Fast forward to the present day. Of all the surf shops that came and went over the years, Surfline, Lightning Bolt, Rich Parr, Town & Country is a survivor. A survivor of good and bad, happy and sad, good economy, bad economy. I think the owners made the right moves at the right times, taking into consideration what the fads and trends were at the corresponding time. The big boom in surfing in Japan probably had a lot to do with it too. Being able to keep up with these trends has made T&C a household name. Nowadays I mainly shop here for shirts and board shorts and all kinds of stuff for my niece and nephew! They’ll grow up just as I did wanting that special surfboard or long board, that cool shirt, slippers or backpack. Whenever I step into a T&C shop, I am reminded of the dynamic, ever changing world of surfing… and how much it has evolved over the years! Congrats to them!!!

If you want to look like youre a «local» T&C is one of the places to stop by to get your local clothing. Board shorts, tank tops, t-shirts galore. They also have a skateboarding selection in the back. Its a large store with a large selection. Usually they have some type of deal going on where you can get a free shirt or hat with certain purchases so look out for it.

One of the longest reigning local/surf/skate shops. They are pretty much my go to place if I ever want to get local wear and stuff. They have everything from skateboards, board shorts, bikinis, swimwear, shoes, hats, clothing, apparel, slippahs, bags, backpacks, accessories, etc. They also carry a good amount of BJ Penn stuff since he is sponsored by RVCA. They even did some autograph meet and greet sessions down at the store which was pretty cool. They always have great stuff on sale during the seasons and sidewalk sales. The staff and customer service is good. Its conveniently located inside Uptown Pearlridge right by the Footlockers and a kiosk vendor right across. Unilocal 365 Challenge #105/365

I’m not going to comment on their product selection since I think they carry a lot of brands and seem to cater to a lot of different kinds of customers. I am not one of the targeted consumer groups, so it is pointless for me to gush on about how much I love their store. However, I do want to make a point of reviewing their service. I shop at this store maybe 3 or 4 times a year on a good year. Once is during Christmas and the other times are for birthday gifts, always for specific items. I never browse. Every time I shop here, I never leave disappointed that they did not have what I wanted. That’s never the issue. I have two major concerns when I shop here: 1) finding someone who can help me or answer the one quick question I have 2) register efficiency at checkout. 1) For some reason, there are always a lot of employees on the floor. Well, relative to the size of the store and the amount of traffic. Yet it’s so hard to find someone who can help you because they aren’t walking around. They’re ALL behind the counter except for maybe one person. I understand that a large portion of the store is comprised of clothes, but why are there three people tagging and folding clothes when there are five groups of people waiting to ask about the specialty shirts on the cabinet shelving on the right wall? I saw two people helping customers, one was a guy who was actually working and the other was a girl who was just talking story with someone she apparently knew. Yes, the counter area is tight, but I felt that those customers standing around waiting could have been more efficiently helped if even one more person went there to help instead of focusing on the stack of shirts in front of him, pretending the customers didn’t exist.(I was not one of those customers interested in those specialty shirts, but this is just an observation. All I wanted was someone to unlock an item so I could purchase it.) 2) This is actually the point that really bothers me every time I shop here to the point that I think to myself, «I hate coming here. I know person X specifically said that they wanted item Z, but should I just go somewhere else?» They only have one register open no matter how busy it is or how many people are in line. I don’t know if it is just when I go, if the other registers are broken or if they’re just too lazy to open another register, but having only one register open is so infuriating especially with the kind of people they put on the register. I could see if people were pushing shopping carts full of stuff like at a grocery store, but it always takes whoever is working the register forever to ring up two shirts(and they don’t even fold the shirts before they put them in the bag). Sometimes the clerk is yakking, but usually it’s just that he’s(it is usually a guy) slow at closing out transactions – slow at scanning, slow at punching in numbers or whatever, slow at putting the merchandise in the bag, slow at taking the money. Perhaps the system is to blame, but I’ve seen companies with similar POS systems that work more efficiently. Again, no complaints with the merchandise or the selection. Just be wary if you’re in a hurry. I always know exactly what I want. I go in there, swoop in, and grab my stuff – 2 minutes tops. But when I stand in line to checkout, it is easily a 15 minute endeavor when there are two or three people in front of me. Bring a book or something.
