Disappointed. We went here on a Thursday night. Somehow, the flavor and texture of the food is not what we experienced at previous dinners. Three of us ordered baby back ribs an one ordered the combination. The ribs were dry and not as flavorful as before. The ribs also had a «crust» of dry meat. we could not cut through it with a knife. The chicken was really dry, almost rubbery. On the positive side, our wait help provided excellent service

With nearly the entire establishment empty, why is there a 15 minute wait? This is disappointing.

Amazing time tonight! It is Keiki Thursday and they did not disappoint! Had a good coupon from the mail. The ribs were good and the chicken was tasty! The kids meal was a hit with out daughter too. There was a magician and a balloon tying woman there as well. The magician was funny and a good entertainer. Overall it was a GREAT time!

I just moved here in Hawaii and I’ve been craving for baby back ribs. I asked my co-worker what place she could recommend to me with the best baby back ribs in town she tried. She mentioned 2 places and one is Tony Roma’s, 3 nights ago I invited my friend to have some baby back ribs at Tony Roma’s and it was my first time to be there. Here Is my review: Baby back ribs– meat was tender, I had my BBQ sauce. I was just disappointed because while I was eating, there something smell on the meat. but because I was so hungry I ate them all. I ordered half slab with 2 sides(a lot of choices for sides). I got mashed potato, it was so tasty. Complimentary bread– it was so good and fresh. We end up asking for another one.:) I give 5 stars. Waiter– he was very attentive and friendly. Too bad I forgot his name. Ambiance– it was nice and clean. I give 3 stars. For sure I will be back there but not for the baby back ribs, I might try there other menu:)

Disappointing experience @ Tony Roma’s Aiea for Veteran’s Day. I greatly appreciate the discounts that many establishments offer for Veteran’s Day. I am also aware that there is no requirement to offer a discount. Various restaurants do participate each year offering anything from a % off, to free appetizers, dessert, or even a free entrée. Often the free entrée is from a limited menu rather than the full menu, and that’s not a surprise. What would be a surprise would be if the Hooter’s Corporation were to announce that vets could get a free order of wings that day, and once you show up change that offer to a 10% off discount instead. This is a classic example of bait and switch marketing. For the record, Hooter’s franchises have never done that to me(not even in Hawaii) and I use that only as an example of what not to do. Tony Roma’s seems to think this is an acceptable business practice though. The special they supposedly offered everywhere(except apparently Hawai’i) was a free half-rack of baby back ribs. Nowhere near the most expensive option on the menu, but it is one of their signature items, and it is an entrée. Instead, the local Tony Roma’s chose to offer a 10% discount off the meal. Nothing wrong with that discount, but there was no indication given at the hostess station or waiting area and the matter was not addressed until we were seated. While it was certainly an option to walk out once we found out that«local participation varied», we had already driven specifically to that location, waited 30 minutes to be seated, and would have had to find another Veteran’s Day deal during peak hours. The restaurant was aware that a different discount was being offered in other locations, but chose not to address that before placing people on the wait list. The excuse given is that this is Hawaii, and even though the cost of the entrée is only $ 1 more here than the Mainland, they cannot afford to offer what so many others did. Since most items on the menu are 33% more than the half-rack of ribs, the cost of a meal can go from somewhat expensive, to fairly costly very quickly. All things known up front, I would have taken my business to a more veteran-friendly location on Veteran’s Day and saved a trip to Tony Roma’s for a time when free beverages would be more appealing(which is what 10% works out to anymore). All that said, I still won’t be revisiting Tony Roma’s in Hawai’i any time soon. Our server was helpful, attentive and on top of things the entire meal. She is the reason I didn’t give a one-star review. They have an extra star there, and that’s her. She was attentive to my wife’s food allergy concerns and even recommended alternate options once she spoke to the kitchen. My wife’s food was well-prepared and flavorful. My son’s steak was cooked properly, but his french fries weren’t great. He said they tasted a little«off» and didn’t eat much of them. I ordered a Roma rack of ribs(which is about a ¾ rack). A third of the rack was an end piece with more cartilage and gristle than meat. The regular half-rack cut had more meat, but it was still over-cooked and tough. I ordered St. Louis-style ribs, which are not as lean as baby-back, but should still be tender and flavorful when prepared properly. A standard BBQ axiom is «brown is good, but black is bad». My entire rack was blackened, and not in a tasty cajun way. I ate what I could, but these were not good ribs. I could have complained to the manager on the spot when she made her rounds, but I didn’t have confidence any of the ribs would be better considering the proper cook time it would take to do it right. I also didn’t want to risk sending my food back, for obvious reasons. If I sound like I’m picky about ribs, I am. I spent the first two decades of my life eating KC-style BBQ. I spent the next two eating St. Louis, Southern, and Texas BBQ based on where I was stationed at the time. I know good BBQ, and I expected to at least get decent BBQ from Tony Roma’s. I know where the local spots are in many cities to get great BBQ, and after tonight I can certify that Tony Roma’s is not that place in Hawai’i. Maybe it was an off night for the kitchen and their ribs aren’t always overcooked. Had the food been of higher quality I might not have been as upset about poor handling of the veteran discount. If I’m going to drop a $ 100 on a meal, I like to come away feeling like I got my money’s worth.

Eating out on veterans day this was only place that could seat use as when we arrived, reservation worked great. Service was off a little in the entire restraunt tonight. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip came out spicy, seems it had tobacco sauce in it. Food was ok. Finally got bread after meal was done. I just think it was an off night not the usual service you get at a Tony Romas.

Ichiriki was full and the wait would have been over an hour, so Jeff and I walked over to Tony Roma’s. I had the filet mignon and shrimp scampi combo, and enjoyed it very much. The scampi was very tasty with lots of garlic. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly, red inside but not bloody, and very tender. Jeff had the ribs, and he seemed to enjoy it. We also enjoyed our loaded baked potatoes.

Ribs were good. Steak was one temp. Off to what I wanted. Dessert was an absolute disappointment. Red velvet cake is worth one dollar! Its scaled with an iPhone 6 in the back ground. It’s no bigger then 2 quarters stacked on top and 2″ wide. And no cream cheese, it’s topped with icing made for a donut. Total cost for the red velvet was 3.99.

My favorite place to get baby back ribs! The half slab just gets me full all the time(: plus you also get the choice of 2 sides to go with that, the options are endless. But I usually get the basked potato & broccoli. I also tried the shrimp, the portion size was small & the price of it was kinda high. Other times I would try something new, but I always stick to my main favorite! I love it and you’ll most likely like it too! In addition, this place is great for any occasion! I enjoy eating here whether it’s with my family, friends or my significant other. Customer service was excellent & they know how to take care of you well! They talk stories, recommend whats the best option of food & are super friendly! If your looking to eat somewhere in aiea, come here! They have a variety of food(seafood, steak, ribs, pasta), they also have a bar but I’m still underage yet I see a lot of adults coming their to drink! Will come here again!

The best place for ribs. Don’t order anything else. The scampi is overpriced and you can make better at home. Don’t order the steaks.

TR was sorta empty for peak time at dinner? so we got seated right away. The hostess, and waitress were very nice. As usual, I got the baked potato soup and the onion loaf which usually get me full by the time I get my baby back ribs, which is always so flavorful and tender. As for the sides, I like the cole slaw, my husband doesn’t tho?, the baked potato seems too soft? as if it’s boiled and not baked? otherwise I still need it with the bbr. The dessert prices are very reasonable, and the right portion for my husband and I to split, or for a teenager with a bottomless stomach. Love this place, always look forward to coming here.

We came here tonight for our first date night of the summer! My husband ordered the dinner special with Filet Mignon, ribs, and shrimp. I had the Filet and BBQ Chicken Combo. There was a slight mix up with Ribs instead of my Filet at first, and then a very raw filet, but our waitress Aisha was wonderful and very apologetic. Thank You so much Aisha for a great experience! Overall the food was great. Will be back again for sure!

We usually don’t get the entertainment book, but because it was only $ 10 in the middle of the year, and we saw certain coupons this year that we could use, we decided to get one and going to just one restaurant already paid for it. As we browsed through the book, we decided to go Tony Romas. I think the last time I went was more than 2 decades ago(probably before some of you were born), and it’s one of the few restaurants that hasn’t changed their design and cooking style: Baby back ribs — 4 stars — for about $ 27, got the roma rack(12 pieces of ribs) to split among the family. Ribs were amazingly tender inside and crispy outside, with the sweet bbq sauce on the side to add to our liking. Unfortunately, I went on Unilocal only after I ate to look at the reviews, and should have tried the sampler instead. See what happens when I didn’t check before? Still getting used to the«smarter» phone like you up-to-date folks. hah.(the downside of getting old). Salmon with lemon caper sauce — 3 stars — salmon was grilled but a little dry, and the sauce was a bit spicy. At least it was on the side, so it we could add as much or little to our liking. Complimentary bread — 5 stars — I had to mention this because this bread before our meal was fresh and the butter that came with it was creamy and sweet. I really enjoyed eating it, especially with the ribs. Both plates came with two side dishes. The mashed potato was ok as well as the corn on the cob. Just two dishes filled the 4 of us. With the Entertainment card, we got $ 14 off, so it was reasonable. Sevice — 4 stars — the waitress was very nice and helpful, and our waters were always filled. Lots of parking, but sometimes a bit full since it shares the parking with other stores and restaurants.

We finally decided to step out of the norm and try something different, plus i was craving there onion loaf, since it’s been years that I’ve been to a Tony Roma’s. Food: All I can say is that what we ordered was deliciousness I didn’t finish all of my burger I got so full off the onion loaf and bread lol! All in all super yummy. Staff: Our servers name was Quinn, he was good, he check in on us periodically, refilled our drinks when they were low. I would definitely come back to this location!

What really made this visit disappointing was our waitress. My parents and I had lunch here for my Dad’s birthday. It started out okay and quickly went downhill as soon as we received our food. My dad and I got water and my mom got coffee. We asked for refills twice. None of our drinks were refilled until WAY after we asked. My mom never got her coffee. Then when our drinks were finally refilled she didn’t even acknowledge the wait. It was as though she had short-term memory. The food itself was fine. I ordered the filet medallion with shrimp scampi combo with roasted veggies and a baked potato. Not amazing by any means. But 3⁄5. I sampled my mom and dads food as well — same. 3⁄5. My mom had fries with her panini and wanted ketchup. We asked the waitress and it never came. My dad walked to an empty booth and had to take the ketchup from there. After we were finished eating, we were finally offered boxes for our food. We wanted to order dessert but left before we could ask. Same story when she came to give us our boxes. We flagged down a waiter to order dessert, right when our waitress came to give us our check. We didn’t ask for a check we weren’t even offered dessert. Come on, get with the program. The only reason why this is 2⁄5 stars overall is because of the food, especially the dessert trio. The cheesecake, velvet cake, and raspberry brownie were all great and enjoyed by my family. 4⁄5 on the desserts. But poor service really hurt here. I don’t think we’ll be back.
