I was pleasantly surprised after having lunch first and then dinner a week later at Arnie’s. I only remember this local bar as a shady, smokey bar before it moved to Wallhaven. They have really upped their game with focusing more on the food than the bar. Love the new chef. Everything is homemade and delicious. Prices are very reasonable. I just hope it stays this way. My only criticism is they have a smoking area right outside the front door. Every time the door opened smoke would pour into the restaurant. This was not a good experience for a non-smoker. Then when we left the restaurant we had to walk through the smoking area to get to the parking lot. My clothes and hair smelled like smoke when I got home. They should put the smoking area in the back and outside.

Tonight was my 2nd time in Arnies SRO, and I was really digging it. It’s spacious, quiet, has good music, and is almost douchebagless. We sat at a table and were almost immediately approached by a bartender/server. After the initial drinks, we were greeted by the main waitress. None of us felt unattended during the evening. Drink prices are average. I wish there were more places like Arnies in the area.

Another hometown hangout for the Hubs here. I’ve only been here a handful of times but hubs used to come here often since his childhood home is within walking distance. The times I’ve been here, it’s been fine. Nothing great but also not bad. We did come on Christmas night so Thank You Arnie’s for being open on Christmas! We had a ton of fun on our mini date(suckered Grandma into watching the kiddos) but I think it was our own doing rather than the bar itself. We had some of the Christmas Ale on tap followed by Blue Moon. Service was always good, they got our drinks readily and refilled waters but nothing beyond that. And we sat at the bar, so it’s not like they couldn’t talk to us. I’m not a chatty cathy or anything but I felt a little ignored by the bartenders. All in all it’s a decent hang out that doesn’t seem to get too rowdy. Great for a few drinks with friends. Bonus: Shares a parking lot with Swenson’s!

I’ve been going here for quite some time now. It has regulars like most bars do but everyone is friendly enough. Their slogan is «enter as strangers, leave as friends.» The service is always quick and they offer like 14 beers on tap. Pool table, dart board, and 5 or 6 tv’s for sporting events keep your attention if socializing isn’t your thing. Try it out if you want to get a couple drinks and relax.

I’ve never been to this bar on a late Friday or Saturday night — so I can’t speak for the atmosphere then… But, early evening drinks or a Sunday Funday? Arnie’s is a definite go to. Service has always been great during these times, and certainly much better than the owner’s restaurant right down the sidewalk — the Eye Opener. Arnie’s offers food from the same menu and great drinks.

The crowd at this place is always a weird mix. You have the Old Dudes who are always at the bar(maybe they came with the bar? or the barstool company installed them? not sure. it’s always the same guys!). You have the bros playing pool, the smokers who never come in from the patio, the close knit group of friends hanging out by the fireplace. Drinks are slightly high(and a little watered down). But hey, it’s not Annabell’s, and some nights, that’s enough for me.

Much older crowd, no ‘meat market’ mentality. Decent enough service, especially if you go there with any sort of regularity.

this place has a lot of potential… lots of beers on tap and service was pretty good. dont know why its just so dead in there most of the time… and usually the patrons are older men. food is not the reason why you would go to arnie’s. just go for a drink. i still think nearby… Larry’s main entrance is better.

the first time i went to arnie’s i was UNIMPRESSED. the bartender ignored us while he texted and chatted with other patrons. i was thisclose to leaving without paying, that’s how pissed i was. there were maybe 8 people in the entire bar and my friend and i sat there with empty pint glasses for 15 minutes! somehow i ended up going back there again and this time it was different. maybe because of the different bartender? we sat outside in the may sun and drank beer after beer after beer and enjoyed ourselves. it was a fabulous afternoon that led to a fabulous evening… so this place gets 3 stars.
