So fun! Everyone is so friendly obviously! Drag show is awesome and everyone else that works there! Great place to dance without being judged!

Interbelt is one of those places that is probably one of the most well known clubs of its kind in akron maybe even currently the cleveland area(as bounce is no more). Why this place has the name it does I will never know. The place had an outside facelift not to long ago. I went there years ago. years ago. and told the person I was with that we were to leave about ten minutes after I got there. The place had a slummy gonna get hit on, grabbed and possibly more by some drunk sleezy person. I recently I noticed that sunday was musical day. Cool I stopped by early to check to see when things were going. there was an incense burning by the place where you would normally pay the entrance fee. If i had not walked in I would not have known anyone was there. Upon entering I realized that the place has not changed in looks inside much at all. Bar and then giant floor. The place smelled of urine. I often travel with someone who is disabled so I noticed as I was asking my other questions that their main restrooms had stairs leading to them. I figured I better ask about that for the other person who travels with me. I was told initially that, that was all they had but when i asked if they really expected someone who can’t go downstairs to go downstairs to get to the bathroom at a crowded club they said we do have an accessible bathroom in the back but its broken. The pipes froze and they have no idea if its fixed. Parking is dangerous with no handicapped parking. Let me get all this together here. Place smells of urine. No handicapped accessible restroom. and the place has zero parking that is accessible. o did i mention they do not even answer their phone. Why is this place so popular? Please frequent the square in highland square. Nice newer, seems to be clean and the workers are good, nice and good at their job. The owner even frequents their own bar. thats a good thing folks. Please don’t give this place money. I may try it if they are busy and have something I want to see and if they get their restroom situation fixed and taken care of… but i doubt they will.

Used to love this place as a kid. Famous for crazy saturday nights and parties. These days though despite attempts at updating décor it is sad to see a weekend night and almost noone at the place. Somehow Monday night is the big night? Hugely popular apparently for the unemployed college crowds on the first night of the workweek apparently. I also think it is ridiculous that a cover is charged at the place and when you walk inside it is empty. Twice i’ve walked in and walked right back out minutes later. Who wants to sit in an empty bar with blaring music? Still if barely legal and poor and/or tweaky boys is your thing take PTO on Tuesday and stop by on the hip hop night Monday. Will give a hint if what this place used to be.

The Interbelt has been a mainstay gay club in Akron for many years. The biggest crowds are oddly on Monday nights. It’s always packed to the gills on Monday nights, which is always hip-hop night. But don’t let the name fool you, it’s about 90 percent white college kids. The music is blaring loud so this is a place to dance and party hard. The staff is on top of their game and very friendly. Security is also top notch inside the club, they’re heavily armed and very professional. The security doesn’t harass the patrons, they just maintain order and keep the peace. If there’s a problem they are on top of it promptly. No security visible in the nearby parking areas so you are on your own out there. The dance floor is huge and open from all sides. Two pool tables, cigarette machine, coat check are all available. The outdoor patio and back yard is the really nice part. There is a huge covered outdoor bar, deck, picnic tables, and they even have a grill going if you want a quick hot dog to eat. The only drawback to this place is that parking is limited to a small rutted lot next door and a dark seedy side street that goes down the hill behind this place. The neighborhood is not the greatest, so go in a group or carry your trusted firearm of choice. Only problem with carrying a gun is they search people for weapons at the door if that gives you any idea of how the neighborhood is. There is a nice well lit free parking lot down the road and the bar offers a shuttle service on the busy nights if you don’t want to walk it. The crowd is mostly gay college age kids from the Akron area. The crowd is about 50⁄50 male female, a few straight people, and some black, Latino, Asian, and mixed races. If you go in with a good attitude and don’t act like a douche, the people are pretty friendly here. I can’t say I’ve ever had a bad time at the Interbelt. It’s definitely worth checking out on a Monday night.

stopped by at 1:45am the other night just to check the place out. First off parking is creepy. Bad or non-existent lighting and no valet or premium paid parking. I drive an expensive vehicle and am not parking it down a dark creepy hill. No security in sight. Big no no. Finally someone left and got a well lit spot in front. Go inside and they want to charge me $ 5 cover? I’m over 21(i.e. I buy booze) and it’s 30 mins from last call! Wtf. I’m not typically a «cheap» person but seriously? Your gonna charge a cover for over 21… 45 mins from closing? I turned around and left… But not before a bum tried to hassle me for a ride(again no security) I already wasn’t thrilled about leaving my truck anyways so I guess it wasn’t meant to be. Not impressed prolly won’t be back.

This place is not my favorite gay bar in Akron, but it does the trick. I should probably start off by saying that the reputation of this place is not so good. For instance, if you’re a guy(like me) don’t use the restrooms here. They don’t have doors and there have been rumors of rapes going on here, so the police come here frequently and are always present. Kinda like Chuck Norris, but without the fear of impending death. But enough of the scare-factor. I entered the restroom and wasn’t raped. The nightclub is one of those gay bars where straight people are openly accepted and often frequent. The drinks are tasty and strong, so it would be wise to get a DD if you come here. There are even stripper poles for the whores and pretty lights everywhere. This place is hoppin on Mondays, for whatever reason. You heard right, people come here on Mondays to dance and drink. Why? I have no idea. This place beat my expectations, but I’ve been to better gay bars.

A Great Dance Club… yes, a gay club, but they accept me there anyway! The Interbelt has a friendly staff, good drinks, and great entertainment. The building has had a recent facelift inside and out. The outside patio area is really nice, especially when the weather is nice, though in winter they have adequate outdoor heaters. I do wish the music indoors was not quite as loud, you basically have to go outdoors to carry on a conversation, but as I said– it is nice out there!

My mind has totally taken a turn for the better with this place. It is one of the longest running gay clubs in the midwest region being open for nearly 25 years. They have revamped the entertainment line-up top to bottom with special guest entertainers from all over the country. They host huge shows featuring RuPaul Drag Race alumni and it always packs a full house. The drinks are still strong, and they are in the midst of a huge face lift, inside and out! The crowd seems to have evened out as far as gay to lesbian ratio. Bottom line, I always have a hands down awesome time with friends with here, I love this place!

Everything I loved about the gay bar in my college town. only bigger! This place is great. 1 night of the week. albeit a random night of the week. but still great! The staff are always nice, the drag queens are awesome, and the DJ knows how to get people on the dance floor. I’ve never gone here with the intention to get wasted, so i’m not sure how the drinks fare in terms of strength. but I’m sure they are heavy handed.

This place was crazy, I went here with some friends for a friends 21st birthday. I should say that I was a virgin to nightclubs before this bad boy popped my cherry. At first it was a little strange with the male dancers and everything but I soon got over that and had a great rest of the night nice selection of music and I got down with my bad self on the dance floor with a giant mirror. I was also waiting for the bubble party that was suppose to happen that night and it did not disappoint, though it made me very sticky. I got washed by some chicks so it’s all good, my friend, although almost drowned in the bubbles, got crowned queen bubbulicious everything was good after we realized she was okay, and the night went on. overall good experience and guaranteed to give you an exciting night.
