Reposting. This place has horrible service. Waited and hr for food and still not here. Nobody cares from management down. I’d give negative stars if I could. Stay away!!!

What is with this place? It used to be a gem and the most beautiful place in PLX. It still has the best views and nice layouts. But I stopped there last night, had the most terrible service on the patio(they weren’t even busy) and the owner was just flashing some chicks on a boat. Maybe if I wouldve sat at the bar the service wouldve been better but to spend 70 $ take FOREVER to get waited on, half the lights on the deck are out and need replaced. it’s like come on guys ! Fix this place! Nothing but atrocious reviews all over the internet and its just sad because it has so much potential. We are walking distance and would he weekly regulars but the inattentive staff and inconsiderate owner and negligence of the old harbors beauty… please do something nice with this place. it’s like a jerzees on the water with terrible management and atmosphere. Please fix it so I can come here more and bring friends amd be treated like a customer not an annoyance. Spending 70 $ you would expect more. Worst service and food I’ve ever spent. This place needs new management or owner and make it like the old diamond on the lake like it used to be.

Ok, this place is filthy! The door we pushed open to get in was disgustingly dirty. They wipe the table with a dirty rag, leaving it sticky & nasty. The carpeting has black paths throughout. Heck, they have a hard time cooking a burger too. Thought we would try it again because last summer all of the bathrooms were closed & the stench was horrible. It was a mistake. Again, they send a medium well burger out bleeding! If I go here again, it’s for a drink with a straw that was wrapped until I open it.

I can’t even see my phone screen because of the hunger. I’m famished. I ordered food but I honestly don’t think this place even serves food. Surely, this is test. Maybe it’s just a lounge and not a restaurant… the sugar packets are looking appetizing.

Went there for lunch today with my mom, sister, and nephew. The staff was friendly and the view of the lake was lovely, but we could not believe how dirty the place was. The tables and floor were filthy. The salt shaker and condiment bottles on the table were disgustingly filthy and mostly empty. The food came out just barely warm. The paper towel dispenser in the restroom was broken. I for certain will not be dining at this location again anytime soon, if ever. It’s no wonder why the place was completely empty and devoid of diners on a Saturday afternoon.

Horribly slow service Food took 40 minutes, I never got a refill on my drink, and it took another 45 minutes just to pay. Beyond that, the iced tea tasted horrible, bathroom towel dispensers didn’t work, and the music sounded awful(the band was fine, but I don’t think anyone even tried to mix it).

Love this place! Mostly for the scenery/atmosphere and drinks. Their Greek chicken salad is also awesome!

Great patio and view of the Portage Lakes. Their specialty drinks were very good and cheap, like the Shark Attack. Their food is just typical bar food(On Tap food), but not bad. I’d definitely come here again for the patio and view if nothing else.

Terrible service. Food ok. Annoying drunks at the bar on a Monday at 6:00. Don’t recommend this place.

I have been to this restaurant a few times. The food is not that good. Can’t say that I would order food from there again. I am NOT a complainer but when the waitress asked if everything was okay I had asked her if she wanted the truth. I told her that it was the worst gyro I have ever eaten. The pita was like cardboard. When I told the waitress about the issue she had the owner come over to me. His name is John. He never offered to remove the bad food from my bill. I had 6 people with me and my bill was over $ 80 just for food the gyro was $ 8. If the owner really cared he would have removed the $ 8 gyro. I would strongly suggest you do not order food.

Terrible service, terrible food, high prices. Servers make you wait to be greeted. Food portions are small and it’s not up to other on tap standards. The owner treats his employees terrible. I’ve given this place over 5 chances. I won’t be back.

Server was nice but the food is sub par for the price. I think the location is what keeps this place afloat.

I should have kept in mind that this is a bar, first. Food is secondary. Dined here today, a Tuesday, around 3:30. Ordered a shrimp po’boy that was supposed to have spicy shrimp, coleslaw and red onion. When it came it had iceberg lettuce, tomato and a few pieces of chopped onion, and the shrimp were not spicy at all. Was told the cabbage didn’t come in. My friend had fish tacos… Never met a fish taco I didn’t like; til now. Fish and salsa. That’s it. No lettuce(of course no slaw!) no crunchy stuff at all. I Will not be eating here again. Drinking? Maybe. They did have a nice beer selection but we did have to ask for a beer list and the patio in the summer is very nice.

Pops works out in Barberton and was an avid patron of The Harbor. We came here for lunch after the former’s demise on a beautiful day. Obviously a great location, but what sort of establishment calls itself On Tap yet doesn’t offer pitchers of beer on select days? Extremely disappointing. We then tried to order Dogfish Head on draft – only to be informed that they were out. This continued for two or three more options until we found some that cleansed the palate. I think we averaged $ 4 a beer on tap, but that was including domestics like Yuengling, which I find a bit stiff. I can’t comment on the food, as I am one of those girls that rather shamelessly orders a salad at a bar to the chagrin of her peers. They mistakenly delivered an order of chicken wings that were meant for the neighboring table, which led to a rather awkward exchange but which was quickly mollified by the people’s good nature. Eh. Pretty regrettable. Maybe it was an off-day, but we probably won’t be returning – at least willingly.

I have been going to The Harbor Inn for years, so I was interested to see the reincarnation as On Tap. While some things have changed, I would happily state that the most important things — the atmosphere and the service — have not. Nice on tap beer selection — $ 4 perhaps a little pricey for«craft» type beers in a plastic cup, but my Yuengling draft was a little less. They could use slightly bigger cups. I liked the menu — not quite as esoteric as the old Harbor’s but somewhat similar. Did not eat on my first visit, but resolved to try the steak Philly sandwich, which looked awesome when the guy next to me ordered it. Stopped in late on a Friday afternoon — very similar crowd to what was always there before on a typical warm, sunny day at The Lakes… people taking off early from work, enjoying a very long lunch, or relaxing by the water before hitting it on Friday night. Service was just fine, and appropriately friendly. I will definitley be back again. Basically, things are the same here — at least at the deck bar. They haven’t missed a beat, and it will be interesting to see how things shape up now that HL&D next door is no more. The two venues made this spot on the Lakes more of a «destination» and I really think they complemented one another. Nevertheless, I’m sure On Tap at The Harbor will be just fine on its own.

I was expecting something affordable after The Harbor was closed. Sadly, I was disappointed. The food is standard bar food with not much seafood that The Harbor was known regionally for. If you come here looking for fish, they have that. However, it will probably not be what you’re looking for. The beers here are great. Lots of variety on the taps. They easily have the best variety in the PLX. But good luck finding a beer under $ 4. Bars in the PLX are known for being really inexpensive, but On Tap is the exception. I feel like they have more waitresses than needed at once. I guess that’s both good and bad. The patio is where it’s at. It has a Key West/Margaritaville feel to it, but it still pales in comparison to The Upper Deck. After a few trips here, I now know to go elsewhere.

This is a great place celebrate being on the lake and have a good time! The bartenders are super fun, especially the one with the pigtails! If you love being awesome and enjoying it, this is the place to go.

It’s great this location has risen from the dead after the sinking of «The Harbor.» The Portage Lakes always needs more restuarants/bars ON the lake. Service was slow, bu they did just open a couple weeks ago, so I’m assuming the service will pick up. Unlike The Harbor, ONTAP does have a happy hour and a pretty good one as well. Additionally, unlike The Harbor, ONTAP has plenty of draft beer for patio patrons. Definitely a fun environment that will hopefully last at this location on the lake.
