Good pitas with loads of varieties to choose from as filling. Very sweet owner. Explained us very nicely. I always order chicken souvlaki. Yum yum

The pitas here were great! Food was well prepared and very tasty. Great selection of veggies, cheeses and condiments/add-ons like hummus, tzatziki sauce, teriyaki, etc. to choose from. Could eat here every day and not get bored.

Yum! Love Pita Pit! Prices are a bit high($ 7 for a pita) but it’s worth it for fresh meat and veggies. No more Subway for me!

It’s like if Chipotle and Subway had a little pita baby. Good food, cooked quickly, that tastes even better when you are drunk. Good place to go after the bars because it is open late and is healthier then Taco Bell.

Similar to subway but much better. The food is cooked in front of you instead of being pulled from a freezer. I came on Sunday and the combo special is 5 dollars for any pita. My only complaint about this place is that they are pretty small. I expected to receive a toy with the small size pita that I received. But the food was amazing.

I feel bad that I’m the only one who doesn’t like this place. After my manicure, I came here for a quick bite before I headed home. It’s right next door to a hookah lounge, which really is quite ideal for them. I got a gyro with kalamata olives, tomatoes, lettuce, tzatzaki, and mushrooms. Not good. I was hungry, ate half, tossed the rest, and then ate a bowl of cereal. It probably wasn’t that bad, but because I had my little heart set on a gyro and what I got was… a sad imitation of one, probably resulted in a poorer experience than normal. I think I’ll just stick with Jimmy John’s(which is just right down the street).

Of all the restaurants moving into the area surrounding the University of Akron, this one is the most surprising. They don’t tout their food as «gourmet» like Jimmy John’s and aren’t a cancer to society like Subway, but this nationwide chain knows what they’re good at. In case you are stupid, this place specialized in pitas. They have breakfast pitas(!), as well as regular pitas. This is another restaurant whose layout was influenced by Subway: «pita artists» make pitas for people by putting on the ingredients people want on their pitas. Fortunately, they don’t have a geeky guy parading around with his size 84 pants that he used to wear, so I consider that a plus for The Pita Pit. Subway and Hanini seem mass produced and generic when they are dealing with meat products. The Pita Pit, however, cooks their food in front of you, so there’s no surprise as to what you food is going to look like. I had a Buffalo Chicken Pita today. Most restaurants are an epic failure whenever the try to cook buffalo chicken products. However, this particular pita today was both hot and tasty. It was friggin’ amazing. I am so glad I came here today. If you are partying in Downtown Akron, this is a good place to drunk eat at. I shall be doing that the next time I go Downtown.

I came here with a Groupon and really enjoyed it. The pita sandwiches are made to order and, unlike the reviews of the Kent location, the staff was very attentive and friendly. I only gave this place 3 stars due to the price. A combo(pita, drink, chips) is about $ 8.50 and for the amount of meat you get in the sandwich, I would have felt a bit ripped if I didn’t have the Groupon. However, this place is great for a healthy meal and the nutritional content is posted for you to observe. If you want something different than Subway, then check this place out. I probably won’t ever come back here, but it was a good experience.

Well this little gem took me by surprise. It is set up similar to a Subway but you guessed it, with pita bread. They have tons of different toppings, meats and spreads. They even have hummus and something called babaganoush. I still have no idea what that is, but damn it is fun to say. It was under $ 5 for a pita and I love that they post the nutritional content right there on the menu. Definitely would go back if I ever happen to be walking by in route from Brubakers to Barley House. Prime location for drunk eating without the regret the next day!
