A fantastic place to go if you’re looking for that hard-​to-​find footwear appropriate for a burlesque routine.
Although…you won’t really save any money by shopping here. Aside from stripper shoes, this store offers cheap, overproduced junk with a price tag that could be matched by most shoe stores like it, such as Famous or DSW.
In any event, the dodgey people in there will make you wish you’d gone to one of those other stores. It seems somebody in there is always stealing and, in fact, security has been apprehending someone there every time I have visited (about 8 times, since I park at this store to get into the mall – certainly not to shop).

The Shoe Dept. is a no frills national shoe store chain with a location in Chapel Hill Mall. In the mall, the store is towards the end of the mall by Sears. The reason The Shoe Dept. gets five stars is because of the great deals. I was able to pick up a pair of New Balances for $ 40! I’m not sure of their MSRP, but I’m sure they cost more at other stores. If you’re looking for a sturdy pair of shoes at low low prices, stop in at The Shoe Dept. You won’t regret it.
