I’m giving this place 5 stars for being in Ellet and being really good! I have only been once with my wife. We had a thin crust Goat Cheese & Roasted Pepper and added pepperoni. I need to try a deep dish but didn’t have time to wait an hour when we went. We also had two house salads which were high quality, and very tasty. We tried a flight of beer too, the beers are not the best beer in the world but it was good and they tasted like the styles of beer the name implied. Awesome place! Will be back for sure!

Every once in a while we seek out a place that sounds different. We wanted wood fired pizza and found this place on Unilocal… Do we venture to an unknown, or do we stay in our safe little bubble of known restaurants? We ventured out tonight to the Brickoven Brew Pub and we’re glad we did. This is a small place with a simple menu of wood fired pizzas, salad and a few variations of pizza. We ordered one caprese salad, one order of bread sticks, the regular crust pizza with goat cheese, roasted peppers and basil, and a large thin crust Sicilian pizza. Caprese salad — what a pleasant surprise! High quality, fresh mozzarella, a generous amount of fresh basil, Roma tomatoes and balsamic vinaigrette. A generous portion of perfect ingredients! Bread sticks with sauce — so good! The pizzas were OUTSTANDING. The goat cheese pizza had a generous topping of goat cheese and obviously house-made roasted peppers. The crust was perfect. The sauce is really good — fresh, a tad tangy, a tad sweet and very flavorful. The Sicilian has covered end to end with really great ingredients. The sausage in this pizza was really good! Generous amounts of pepperoni and mozzarella cheese, too. Our server was polite, efficient and the refills were brought quickly for our water and iced tea. I like that each food item was bought as soon as it was finished being cooked or prepared. Be warned — wood fired pizzas take time to make. The deep dish pizza takes an hour to bake so we didn’t order that but might next time. The regular crust pizza took a half an hour, but the salad and bread sticks made the wait completely bearable. Don’t come here if you’re looking for a fast meal… But it is worth the wait! Another table got a calzone and it looked AMAZING! We will get that next time, too. There are craft beers and while we didn’t partake tonight, we probably will in the future. My ONLY complaint — the restaurant needs bigger(taller) glasses for iced tea and water. Also, how about some TVs? That might help the wait. However the owner had good taste in music, no complaints there! The owner of the plaza would be helping his tenant by cleaning up the parking lot of the trash outside, making the next door tenant clean up the surroundings of their end of the building. From the looks of the building and the parking lot, we nearly left without going in to the restaurant. The exterior looks unkempt, but don’t let that stop you from going in and enjoying a great meal!!!

The wait to get our food seemed forever. Not good for small children who can’t wait that long. The food was pretty good but not enough to justify the wait. Take out may yield faster results?

I love pizza but I was completely let down by this place. The dough was under cooked, the bottom was completely covered in black sut. I also feel it was over priced for what I paid.

My boyfriend has me hooked on these deep dish pizzas. The Sicilian and the supreme are to die for. The crust is extremely thick, buttery and has a nice burnt edge of gooey cheese on it. The toppings are always fresh and delicious. Mozzarella sticks are great and the marinara is excellent as well. Boyfriend enjoys the on-tap beer selections. Some interesting specialty pizzas on the menu and as an off-menu special that I’d love to try soon. YUMYUM

This place was fantastic! Very small little joint, but it seemed most people come in for take-out. Our party of 6 was able to get a seat right away. They have a small, but great beer selection. They even offer flights which we took advantage of. The side salads were a generous size and very good. The mini calzones were awesome, we loved their marinara. We got a Thai Chicken, Pepperoni, and Sicilian pizza. Though we LOVE Thai we didn’t really care for that pizza, it needed more oomph. The Pepperoni was great, but the Sicilian was definitely our favorite! One person in our group got a Sicilian Stromboli which came out last. Once we tasted that we had all wished we got one of those. It was the best Stromboli I had ever had. The only complaint was the wait for each pizza. We got our first(Thai) and waited another 10 min for the next. We ate that whole one because we were so hungry and 10 min later when the last one came out we weren’t hungry enough to enjoy trying it. The poor guy in our group who got the Stromboli had to wait 40 min for his meal while we all ate our pizza. I think call-ahead is the way to go in the future! We will definitely be back next time we are in the area!

I fell in love the first time my boyfriend and I had dinner here. I highly recommend their PB&J porter as bizarre as it sounds and their pizza is amazing. Although the last time we went here our pizza dough was under cooked and we ended up having to throw away the remainder of it, it wasn’t salvageable. I understand these things are likely to happen from time to time especially when busy and it won’t stop us from returning, but we might just skip the deep dish.

The Wood fired pizza and craft beer are fantastic. I ordered a pizza by phone at about 6 o’clock on a Tuesday and was told it would be ready at 7:15. I went in about 20 minutes early to check the place out and have one of their craft beers. None of their ingredients or toppings come from a can which is a big plus.

Great pizza! Got the veggie combo, toppings were fresh, crust is light and crisp. Sauce was good, but could have used a little more seasoning. Overall a very good experience.

If you’re in the mood for great wood fire pizza and hand crafted beer, this place is a true gem. They brew their own beer there — of the four kinds we tried, three of them were a hit with the whole group, so I’d consider that a win. And the pizzas, while they do take a bit to cook, are very much worth it. Be advised if you’re going to dine in that the dining area is very small, and pizzas do take a while to cook — so large parties, this may not be the place for you. But for a date night, or carry out, I would definitely recommend it!

So we went there after an Ohio State football game around 430 in the afternoon they talked me and a friend into ordering a winter brew they make!!! Horrible decision I must say it was so damn flat not to mention a glass cost 6.00. But on a better note the food was great !!

D. Pizza made in a wood fired oven. That caught my interest. I had their Sicilian and their Margarita. Nice crust. The crust was true crust. The Sicilian had a good amount of meat sausage and pepperoni, tomato sauce and low moisture mozz. Margarita had a good amount of fresh basil, fresh mozz, but tomato sauce instead of tomatoes. Their sauce is pasty and sweet. A little to sweet for me. Don’t get me wrong. It was good but could have been much better. It was typical American pizza. Now the brew was very good. Served at the right temperature. I had a taste of their PB&J ale. OK that’s a taste for some. it was good, just not my taste. The rye was yum and the IPA superb. Atmosphere is lacking. The waitress was busy but still attentive. I went back two days later and got Stromboli. Very good. M– I guess it’s better then smoking up your own house but should we not just build a outside pizza grill with a smoker underneath.

We were going to a store nearby and found all of the positive reviews on Unilocal. It completely lived up to the reviews. The pizza and calzones were delicious! The service was also very good. She was very helpful as far as what others like and how big some items are. The dessert pizza is amazing. Try to save room, though it is hard. The place got pretty busy while we were there and when we left every table was full. Don’t let the outside fool you. This is an A+ pizza place.(Didn’t get any beer but people seemed to love those too.)

The pizza is great and their craft beer is amazing. Highly recommended! They make a lot of the food ingredients, even the peanut butter, themselves.

Stopped in here while we were in the area for a night. Ho-Lee-Heck! The Deep Dish Sicilian pizza might have been the best pizza pie I have ever eaten in my life. Crispy crust, ample toppings, spices in the sauce were just right. It was fantastic. On top of that, their micro-brews were impressive as well. The Cream Ale was a great«all the time» type of beer, but the real surprise was the PB&J Porter. It’s not one you’ll want to make a 6-pack of, but for a change of pace beer, it was exemplary. Add to that the cozy accommodations and football on TV and I could not imagine a better place to spend a Sunday afternoon. Truly a hidden gem.

Wow. Allow me to elaborate. My boyfriend and I stopped here after a day of buying guitars. We love pizza, and try to visit as many pizza places as possible. We walked it to find the place was empty. This WAS on a Sunday, fairly late in the afternoon, though. There were a couple employees in the front portion of the restaurant and they were all very friendly. I ordered a salad, and my boyfriend ordered the Sicilian pizza for us to share. Our food arrived in a good amount of time, my salad first and the pizza about 5 minutes later. Both the salad and the pizza were so pretty I had to take photos. The salad was the best I’ve ever had. It was simple; lettuce, tomato, onion, mushrooms and carrot, but everything tasted as though it was freshly harvested from a neighboring garden. The ranch dressing was even delicious. Seriously, best salad I’ve ever had. The pizza? The crust was perfect, crunchy with a little chewiness. The amount of toppings were more than generous, including the cheese, which was delicious. The pizza is served on a pizza pan, on top of a pizza stand, which is a nice touch. I’m sure we said«mmmmm» at least a dozen times while eating. The pizza is quite filling, as well as being delicious. From our large pizza we had dinner, a snack at home, and my boyfriend’s lunch the next day(out of an 8 slice pie.) The service, food and atmosphere are all 5 stars. My boyfriend said, more than once, that he wished the restaurant were closer to where we live because it would be the perfect spot for us to go and watch the game, or to just have a night out of the house. Yes, it’s that good. The prices are quite reasonable for the amount of toppings, and the quality of the food. Our large Sicilian with medium crust was $ 14.95, and included house made pepperoni, sporessata, Italian sausage, hard salami, onions, garlic and spicy house made tomato sauce, plus parmesan and mozzarella. The two beers my boyfriend had were good, according to him, and the taps coming out of the wall is a neat touch. Any time we’re in the Akron area we are going to stop by for a pizza, salad and beer. Honestly I don’t know what else to say other than go here, you won’t be sorry.

Best pizza in the area. Can’t beat the wood-fired pizza. I’m not a food critic, yet I will say they make a really good pizza, so good that I come back just about every week to buy a pizza from them. The owners and employees are kind and friendly people who provide service that exceeds my expectations and take time to get to know me.

This place is fantastic! The beer is made here and tastes great. If you get one of their normal beers it is like 3/3.50 a glass! Every time we go here we get the special pizza and it is great. The crust it nice and crispy and they put a good helping of cheese on. Service is great! I can’t say enough good things about this place, I wish it was not 20 min from home, but one can only dream.

Best pizza I’ve had in years. My mom and I split a small pepperoni and we’ll be back to try more. As a finicky beer drinker, I love that they offer beer samplers and flights. The cream ale was my favorite. Friendly service. Even the leftovers were great. We’ll be back!
