I’ve had these guys a few times now. Started going to them when they went to Hoppin’ Frog in Akron for their beer releases before getting the tasting room. It’s harder to get to them these days but I always keep an eye out when around NEO. They have some of the best Creole food I’ve ever tasted outside of Louisiana and certainly the best Shrimp Po’Boy around town. The sauce is excellent! BBQ shrimp is also a good choice and if they have them get an order of hush puppies done up perfect. Oh, and they have Zapp’s Chips from down south. If they have the Voodoo flavor you cannot walk away without trying them for a buck. All of this out of a food truck and they do it very well! The service is always quick and friendly though being a food truck there were times when they ran out of certain items so it’s always a good idea to have a backup just in case. So in short, if you see the yellow truck around, give it a shot. I highly doubt you will be disappointed if you enjoy Cajun and Creole food.

If you close your eyes, you’d think you were in the Big Easy. Chef Johnny does a fantastic job.

When I hear someone talk about a food truck, I think of the ratty old pickup with the big steel box in the bed, that would pull in to the garage where my dad used to work. The driver would get out(a seedy looking character) and would sell day(or two) old sandwiches to the guys in the shop. Well, times have definitely changed!!! Nowadays, a very CLEAN and high tech looking truck pulls up and out pops Chef Johnny, a highly experienced and very creative cajun & creole chef offering an assortment of foods that would please anyones palate. Being a vegetarian one would think that I would not have anything to choose from(not much veggie jambalaya out there!), however, he offers a selection of dishes that would please any vegetarian. For the carnivores out there, never fear, there is plenty of tasty(so I’ve been told) dishes that will having you coming back for more! If you go to their website( ) you can find a lot of information regarding the business. In addition, you are able to find a calendar of events which list where the truck will be next. Check it out and if you get the chance stop by and enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner!
