This is my neighborhood dry cleaners so by default I come here with my dry cleaning. I’ve been coming for a couple of years even though I’ve not received the best results — and freely admit that’s my own lazy fault. Blazers and slacks come back not pressed — they actually removed the crease! I’ve had to ask them on multiple occasions to please don’t do that and put the crease back. A couple of times I had to bring some things back, but they were nice about trying to fix mistakes so I’ve stayed with them. The reason I am not coming back now is because I recently brought a colorblock black and white dress in, and when I got it back the white part was super dingy and grey. The top part is white and only comes down to the top of the chest, and the bottom is black. I asked them what happened and this is what they told me: «This can happen sometimes as colors may bleed. Sometimes we won’t even take the items.» Well then why didn’t you say so when I brought it in? Why didn’t someone warn me? I had them take it back to fix it, but it came back the same way. The lady suggested I come back when the owner Patrick is on duty, and although he was polite it was really a case of «too bad so sad». He said things like this happen and there’s nothing they can do. Eventually he apologized, but it didn’t seem sincere. I asked for my money back which he agreed to, but there was absolutely no sympathy for my ruined dress. I’m not looking for a freebie, but it sure would’ve been nice if he was the one who suggested that he will refund my money, or offered a free cleaning or something to show they’re sorry about the situation and want to make amends. Obviously they don’t care that they’re losing a customer. I wouldn’t come here again since they’ve expressed to me things like this can happen and it’s really out of their control. They had no answer for me when I asked why they didn’t give me a warning, so that at least I would know the risks should I choose to want them to go ahead with the cleaning. It appears they will keep taking whatever I give them and whatever happens happens, too bad so sad. You’ve now been warned, so go at your own risk!

One of the best cleaners in town. I had my pant and jacket alter there and it came out perfect. Everything pressed and ready to put on.

The most disrespectful shop owner/employee I’ve encountered. My family and I have been coming here for years and one day he just decided he doesn’t want our business and completely blows up on us and the amount of dry cleaning we bring. It’s a business of dry cleaning and they are getting paid to service us… I didn’t understand what and why but he’s lost some customers now.

I’ve had a couple of things cleaned, and a couple of things repaired. They’re friendly, and the job gets done. The only thing I can’t quite figure out is if they send everything out. I see vans out front full of cleaning, and on my last drop off for a repair, the woman said it would be sent out on Friday — maybe they don’t actually do either service in house?

Patrick, not Carl, runs this store and a couple others. Been going there for a few years and really haven’t had a problem. Why four stars? Draperies. They’re terrible at them. First they shrunk when they said they wouldn’t. Second, they got grease on the light barrier and when confronted, they tried to say it was mold. When he realized I wasn’t going to swallow that bunch of b.s.; he took them back. Unfortunately they rubbed a hole in the barrier getting the grease out. Otherwise shirts and dry cleaning are done well with promptness.

I have been going to Carl’s for about two years and never had bad service that I can recall. I drop off/pick up clothes about twice a month since then, and everything is pressed to my liking. I had Carl’s sew an edging on an old and much loved baby blanket, and they did a wonderful job a few months ago. I’ve had wool hats cleaned to remove cat hair and hard to remove spots taken out of shirts. Their credit card machine was down today and they let me take home my clothes and pay later since I’ve been there so often. Great local business.

This happened about a year ago, but I am new to Unilocal,so. I was a loyal customer dropping off laundry bi-weekly and picking up. Pleasant enough, clothes looked good. But one day I pulled out a shirt out of the closet and noticed a tear, cut in an «L» shape that obviously showed a machine had done it. Laundry. It had come from Carl’s. So when I went in to speak to him about it he said that their policy was I needed to bring it back within 3 days of taking it home. I, as like most people don’t go through all of the laundry I bring home right away. Now it wasn’t a fancy expensive shirt I was asking him to go out and buy and replace. I was just hoping for a $ 20 credit or something, which would have covered about 1⁄3 of my normal bill. He wouldn’t help me. I said to him very nicely that if he doesn’t take responsibility for this and do the right thing, as it is obvious the shirt was damaged in his shop, that I will not come back. Nor will my wife, neighbors or girlfriends that I keep on the side.(just seeing if your paying attention). He didn’t care, so I left and have not been back for over a year and have probably spent 2000 bucks since then. I am not interested in giving business to people not willing to back their service and do the right thing. I now go to Evolution cleaners and they’re very nice. No damage yet! Don’t go to Carl’s!

How do you pick a dry cleaner? Do people really ask around for recommendations? I never even had a need to dry clean until I started to get lazy and not want to iron. So I walked around the block and wow there was a dry cleaner. So I started going there. Nuf said. But now I have moved yet I still go to the same dry cleaner. Why? Because Patrick is awesome! He’s the owner(ish.) Its a family opporated business and poor Patrick works the store front all day long and then takes all the clothes to the factory at night to be laundered by him and his parents(i think i got that right.) He just hired someone to work the store and I get very sad when I go in and he is not there. For years he has been my dry clean man. I’m secretly hoping she doesn’t work out. But if she does I’m sure she will know be by name shortly too.
