Lindsay was great at walking through all parts of the process with us and wading through options as things changed. Her pre-labor questions and visits were thorough and gave us a good refresher(2nd child) on what to expect and ensure we had our wishes/needs clear. Throughout our CVS(Version due to a stubborn breach baby), induction and labor she was a solid support and helped with tools to manage through as well as a great ear when needed and helped support me in resetting my expectations(my «dream» labor was to labor at home naturally, then head to the hospital when ready, not an induction which ended up being what was needed). While we would have managed without her, I know it would not have been as smooth a process and I wouldn’t have wanted to go through without her by my side. She added so much to our labor, delivery and team. Additionally-we used her for placenta encapsulation and prints. The prints came out lovely and will be a great keepsake for our daughter.

I don’t remember much about labor except that it hurt like hell and Lindsay was the only person who could assure me that I wasn’t in fact dying. She’s gentle without being drippy, knowledgeable without being didactic. She’s like your cool friend who knows the right thing to say and somehow doesn’t mind the sight of blood(and all other manner of horrifying bodily fluids). I trusted her immediately and fully. Right after my daughter was born, I fixated on whether I was nursing her correctly, asking whoever was within earshot, «Am I doing it right?» Lindsay very gently told me not to worry, just to enjoy the time with her. After nine hours of labor, in which doctors and nurses choreographed every last minute, it was exactly what I needed to hear.

I gave birth 3÷30÷15 I had a very intense natural birth. I labored for about 7 hours but went from 3 cm at 3PM to birth at 4:15PM. Lindsay was a soothing support all the way. She kept me hydrated and feeding me light snacks. I had very strong back labor contractions. Lindsay was a champ applying counter pressure and massage which helped keep the intensity manageable. She brought a TENS unit which certainly helped as things got more intense. With every contraction she guided me thorough it never letting me get tense or lost in the contraction through gentle encouragment. Her presence was very calming and grounding. I’m super happy I gave birth with Lindsay ‘s help. I also had my placenta encapsulated, it’s made a huge difference for my post partum recovery. I was feeling very anxious the first few days and I started taking them the third day I was home. Huge difference in my mood and mental clarity. I highly recommend Lindsay of you want to have extra help or a neutral support for your birth. Its more than help really, no matter how prepared you are it can help give your partner a break too. Lindsay is such a sweet heart!

I had a baby on June 30 and found Lindsay on Unilocal. After contacting her at about 8 p.m., she drove about 30 minutes each way to pick up my placenta that same evening. It was encapsulated and delivered to my hospital room the next day. Amazing. She is so sweet and gentle. I would highly recommend her services. The price seemed reasonable. I took her up on the offer to have a placenta infused tincture(I had to look that word up, y’all) made for me as well. I am soooooo interested to see if this will work down the line for menopause or hormonal imbalance. I’ll try to remember and update this post in 20 some odd years to let you know. ;-) For now, it’s a good carrot to keep my hubby in line. I threaten to make him drink it if he buys a sports car or takes a 20 year old lover. Works like a charm, worth every penny. As for consuming my own placenta… The pills were amazeballs. My milk came in with a vengeance… no seriously! I am chronically anemic – no problems with my iron levels. My skin got a little rough as a result, but that was no problem after I reduced my usage and eventually stopped taking the pills. Took about 2 days for small rough patches with tiny bumps to clear. I would recommend this to any mama, as the benes far outweighed the issues.

I just had my first child and used Lindsay’s services to encapsulate my placenta. It was probably the best thing I could have done for a speedy and happy recovery from my birth! I had a lot of blood loss and some pretty interesting stuff to recover from. I feel like the placenta was the real key to my recovery. Lindsay was very quick to return my placenta and even gave me the cord from my birth preserved in an adorable heart shape. The placenta helped me recover remarkably quickly. My midwife told me it was actually much faster than most. The pills also really helped my attitude and kept my spirits high. I would highly recommend Lindsay’s services to all expecting mothers. She is a wonderful woman who provided an amazing service. Best wishes to you and your birthing process!

I am so glad Lindsay is on Unilocal now so I can write a review. I gave birth in May 2013 with Lindsay as our doula. To this day I can still hear her walking me through my contractions while I squeezed the life out of her hands. From the moment I met Lindsay I knew I wanted her to attend my daughter’s birth. Lindsay is the most patient, loving, and understanding person I have ever met and it is no wonder at all she has chosen this profession. Before and after my daughter’s birth Lindsay was there for us, no matter what we needed. She went completely above and beyond anything I ever expected to have in a birth doula. She was prompt to every meeting, clear and thorough in everything she taught me, patient when I needed it most, and understanding when I was a total crazy person. During my labor, Lindsay talked me through every contraction. To imagine it like a big wave and dive under. For me, the contractions were inexplainably painful. No one could have prepared me for what I went through. Every contraction got worse and sometimes there was no rest time in between. Lindsay made sure I kept breathing(I didn’t want to) and drinking water(didn’t want to do that either!). She knelt by my bedside all night, right there holding my hand and talking me through every contraction. I wanted to give up more than 100 times but Lindsay kept me in check mentally and physically. Once my daughter was born Lindsay was there too. I had the hardest time nursing. So much pain, not enough milk, latching issues, etc. Lindsay was a godsend. She helped me out like no other mother could. Our follow up appointments were awesome too. She understood what I went through, she made sure I was getting enough sleep, enough to eat, making sure I showered, etc. She genuinely cared about my well-being just as much as my husband and family. There is no way I could have gotten through my labor without Lindsay. If I ever decide to do it all over again, she will be there(please!). There are not enough good things to say about this wonderful woman!
