I had such high hopes for this place. The menu items seemed super authentic and I expected it to be awesome. So disappointed. We ordered the Generals Chicken, Orange Chicken and an order of pot stickers. First problem, we had to wait for over an hour for our food to arrive and when it finally did it did not look appetizing. The chicken was cold, heavily breaded and the breading was all soggy. The pot stickers were okay, but cold and didn’t come with any kind of sauce. The Generals Chicken had a strange flavor to it and a terrible texture. The Orange Chicken was just… horrendous. It smelled like cake. Seriously it smelled like yellow cake… and was a gross yellowish kind of color so I was scared to even try it. It had the slightest sweet, orange kind of taste but was mostly just a soggy lump of sweet smelling nothingness. I wish I had taken a picture of it, of all of it, BUT they took it back. Yep, that’s right, they came back to my house and took their food back. So, we immediately called, after having tried the food, and let them know we weren’t happy with the cold, soggy food we had waited so long to receive and said that we would either like a refund or fresh food. The lady said she would call us back. She actually DID call back, so thumbs up for that bit of customer service I guess. They decided to issue us a refund and did it over the phone(hopefully). Then they apparently decided to send someone back for the food(they didn’t tell us that on the phone). I’m seriously just surprised that they would send someone back to get it, I was not expecting that… it honestly felt rude. I didn’t have a problem giving it back, not like we were gonna eat it, my husband was out picking up Panda Express when the dude got to our house. I’m just saying, if I had thrown it in the garbage already I would NOT have gone trash diving for it. I’m just disappointed by the whole experience.

Very affordable, clean, attentive staff. The menus is typical American-Chinese food. But the specials posted in the wall all look much more interesting. Good food.

Great food! Only 4 stars because I think the ambiance could be a little warmer and it’s closed on Mondays, but I really do love this place! The people that work there are super nice too!

If you are anywhere near Alameda or can make time… GOTOKHANH! My wife introduced me to the Garlic Noodles and Chicken Wings with Sauce. I got so hooked on them that each time we’ve gone back we get the same thing… The food is absolutely worth the parking trouble. The food is so good… so good. I will be trying the Cumin lamb and Beef Stew Hand Noodles next. Good Food!

due to Unilocal great reviews I thought it was worth another try… this time was nothing to shout about… I still say there is way to many chinese restaurants in Alameda to go to…

Everything that we’ve ordered has been delicious! And without being overly salty. So far have had: fish jook(yumm. W plenty pieces of fish), wonton soup(best I’ve had w large pieces of bok choy), green beans, bbq pork(lean and tasty), and bitter melon w beef. My fav chinese spot, and I live near Oakland Chinatown. At first it looks too American inside to have authentic Chinese food, but they do. Both my father who is full Chinese and I who can prefer more sweet flavors can eat here. It is kind of a combo of American-Chinese food and authentic.

It’s a decent spot to get Chinese food. The servers were very accommodating and friendly. It was crowded enough to not worry that there’s something wrong with the place, but not so crowded that you feel cramped. All the dishes we got had a good portion and were satisfying. No frills, easy Chinese.

Best BBQ Won Ton soup I have ever had(and we ate quality, authentic Chinese food at least once a week growing up). 4.5 stars on the soup but deserves a 5 since it is packed separately so it will won’t get overcooked. Nothing worse than over cooked won ton soup, right?! Broth is a strong ginger and mild onion flavour among a dense, healthy tasting chicken stock. Veggies are bok choy, bean sprouts, green and white onion, very clean. Won Tons are a combo of pork meat and shrimp, not ground together, but married in the dumpling. I would give the Won Ton 4 stars, at most. Bbq Pork is a wow. A tiny bit of fat is left, but it is still 5 stars. The dishes I have had were okay to good, but for the price, the best I have had in the bay.

They were very sweet on the phone and even called back to clarify something about my order. But the hot and sour soup just did not taste right. I really tried to look beyond that and maybe it was just me, But I couldn’t deal. I was also extremely underwhelmed by the other food.

A nice hole in the wall Chinese restaurant a bit more authentic than a lot of other places in Alameda. I like the cha shaw roasted ducks hanging in the window. +1 for good service and great for groups and very accommodating for birthdays and larger groups, one time putting two tables together, and nice staff.

The food tasted so weird. I ordered over $ 30 worth of food. the pork/egg porridge, General’s Chicken, rice, and walnut prawns. On the prawns and chicken, there was so much breading. I ate 2 pieces of the General’s Chicken and then no one else even wanted it. I tried to eat the porridge, but the pork honestly tasted wrong. It was a tad alarming. so I stopped eating that too. The walnut prawns were yummy but soggy. Everything was super sad. Not to mention, used Unilocal delivery and it was super slow.

What we got was great, but just not traditional in the American Chinese food I’ve had before. And for what we paid, not a lot. But… it was delicious. I didn’t get rice or gravy with Egg Foo Young, just thought that was odd. Overall, a fan, just not when I’m in the mood for original stuff.

My go-to for delivery now. There’s a deal 3 entrees and rice for $ 20. It’s a limited menu but it’s fine when I really don’t feel like cooking for 2. With tax, tip and delivery charge, it’s $ 26. Not horrible when I’m lazy and I usually have leftovers for lunch.

Definitely looking forward to another visit. They have an extensive menu with many items not commonly offered in Chinese restaurants. My wife started with watermelon juice which was delicious and did not have added sugar. She had an iron platter with eggplant and tofu that she loved. What wasn’t so great was how much the oil splattered all over our table. She also had long beans with pork that she also liked a lot. We did share the dishes so hers came out first after about a fifteen minute wait. Five minutes later my Singapore noodles came and they were quite spicy which was fine for my palette. I would have like to eat the Chinese mustard greens(gai choy) with garlic sauce that I ordered with it but that took longer and when it came it was mixed vegetables instead. I mentioned it so they took away the mixed vegetables and I was pretty much done with the noodles by the time they came. Service was friendly if slow. It wasn’t crowded. Parking was available.

Braised Tofu Over Chinese Mustard turned out to be bok choy and tofu. The tofu was great as for the mustard greens I wouldn’t know! Bok choy and mustard greens are so similar Sesame Chicken(I asked and paid for white meat) but we received dark meat Scrambled Egg Beef was tasty! Beef fried rice was ok As for me returning. Nope! I’ve tried this place a total of five times and I’m done wasting my money here!

Great spot for delivery. The chicken phở style soup is a go to for those under the weather days. The shredded chicken version with extra ginger seems to chase cold symptoms away! Other great items include the sizzling rice soup, which still sizzles after waiting to be delivered, and the wor won ton soup. The wor won ton comes with big slices of bbq pork, shrimp, and really fresh bok choy. The spring rolls are fairly standard. The kung pao chicken is well flavored but the color seems to get leached from the veges from over cooking. They could be crisper. Overall, fast delivery of good food.

Large portions, solid food and but nothing overly exciting. That said, I will come back as long as I don’t find a better spot in or around Alameda. I rarely leave a place legitimately full for under $ 25(I have a large appetite). I was out for $ 25 with tip and took a bunch of hot and sour soup home! You truely get a ton of food for all of your money.

Food is medicore at best. It’s nothing special, it’s your regular Chinese fix. Ordered 3 different lunch specials, none of them were worth raving about or were specatular. It’s okay. The service was pretty good, only 2 people working at the restaurant on a Sunday lunch. The place wasn’t busy and we were able to find parking closeby in the neighboring streets.

Some things here are great, some are not. My husband always gets the bbq pork. The singapore noodles are amazing! They also make delicious watermelon juice and avocado milk shakes. pot stickers are always good too. I have ordered here and not liked some stuff, so I pretty much stick to the food listed above. The location is what it’s about for us and the staff is super friendly as well.

This place in alameda might be one of the best«Chinese» restaurants. First of all the prices here are pretty cheap it cost 21.79 exactly to feed 3 people. The food was excellent; They have a special where you can order 3 main dishes and you get rice I forgot what I ordered cause I was not really paying attention but I do remember that it was DANK. The people that work there are super sweet and always asking you if you would like more water and or how you are doing. The food came out pretty fast but don’t get it twisted the food was hella dank. The place was nice and cozy too. DANK=Great, Amazing ETC I was not any type of drugs when I wrote this or when I ate there. It’s just how I explain things DON’T DODRUGS.
