Only open for lunch during the week, Oscar’s Grill is a sister restaurant of El Caballo Wraps in Alameda, but with a somewhat different menu. Located facing a central courtyard surrounded by four large business park buildings housing Penumbra, this restaurant is decently sized with outdoor seating and a modern, business park feel. You order at the counter and they give you a pager to let you know when your order is ready to be picked up. My regular al pastor burrito was fine and the nachos looked great. I have to try the tortilla soup next time to see if it’s as good as the soup at El Caballo Wraps. It’s always great to see the owner Oscar, who is one of the most friendliest merchants around. I can see why it’s only open for lunch during the week. It is a ghost town around the business park otherwise.

Oscars is the best! The green chicken enchilada soup is my go to. The street tacos are also world class.

Impressed to see how this place seems to have perked up since the last time I was there. The menu seems to have expanded nicely since then, with a separate breakfast menu served until late morning. Their daily specials are somewhat enticing as well. Their chicken enchilada soup still seems to be their star dish, and I have had their chicken enchiladas with red-sauce on one of those rare days when I didn’t have the time to drive to Park Street. I just customized mine with no cheese(their dishes somehow seem to taste better without the overloaded cheese and sour-cream). The hot chicken enchiladas with red sauce fresh off the stove were fantastic! I’d be willing to go up a star if they served organic meat, and offered a wider menu for lunch(including their breakfast dishes) at that price point.

I was told this was pretty much the only choice close to the Penumbra Campus. But from what I experienced, they are pretty lucky. Far from the bland impersonal cafeteria style food. Oscar is warm and welcoming. A great face for the restaurant. Everyone told me to try the enchilada soup and hype usually kills it for me but it did not disappoint. It was like eating green chile verde sauce. With a dollop of sour cream and crisp tortilla strips. Heaven on a rainy day. The fish and chips were fine but I would definitely come back to try more. If it’s as good as the soup, it warrants closer inspection of the menu!

why do I keep coming back, when you treat me so bad? Every single time I come in, whether it’s by myself, or with a group, my order is always messed up. First time, my burger took 22 minutes, by the time I got it my friends were already finished and ready to head back to the office. Second time, my friend ordered soup, I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich, she paid. The soup was ready, a minute later, the grilled cheese was ready, but it wasn’t mine… so I had to wait, the guy behind the counter didn’t think I saw him when he finally put my sandwich in the oven, after he told me, it’s almost ready. The food is not amazing, you should get your **** together behind the counter to make up for it!

My co-workers and I are a big fan of Oscars so I used them to order a company lunch this week. As always, the Oscars staff was so kind and accommodating! I called a few days before we would need lunch and spoke with Oscar himself to set up logistics– we all ordered off the menu and they even offered to deliver it to us since we work just down the street. The food came at the time we expected and everyone’s order came out just as they wanted! Overall it was a fantastic experience for us and I’m sure my co-workers will be requesting the same lunch again.

Clean and modern décor with friendly service and affordable, tasty food… What else can you ask for when looking for a place to grab lunch during your break? I had the super loaded burrito and the pineapple/ginger juice(which was very interesting and incredibly refreshing)! While waiting for my food I noted that everything coming out, from salads to sandwiches to burritos and tacos, looked very generously portioned and fresh. The owner came out and gave my coworkers and me complimentary dessert pastries! This place rocks and I will definitely be back on a weekly basis. Will have to try the enchilada soup next. Only complaint would be that their guacamole was underwhelming– watered down with too much pico de gallo and not enough avocado.

We weren’t expecting much for an office park Mexican café, but Yowza! Oscars was awesome. My wife got their California burrito and I got the loaded nachos with carne asada. Everything tasted fresh and full of surprising flavor. I may have to take a detour the next time we are in the area to try another item on their menu — the traditional tortilla soup. Love it.

Granted there aren’t many other food options in the neighborhood, but even if there were I think this would be my place of choice. Everything I’ve had so far has been really tasty AND affordable. My go-to order is the soup — either soup(enchilada or chicken tortilla, they’re both great but the enchilada seems to have a cult following) — and if I want a sweet treat, one of they’re delicious cookies. The enchilada soup is richly flavored and substantial, but not too heavy. The cilantro and quest fresco sprinkled on top are a nice touch and give a little texture to what is otherwise a pureed soup. The chicken tortilla soup has a broth base and chunks of vegetables and chicken. I’ve also had the fish tacos, which are substantial and delicious, albeit a bit messy to eat. The fish was cooked perfectly and the guacamole on top was a great complement, although I think it contributed to the mess factor. Lunch service can be a little chaotic because it’s pretty much the only place to grab a bite to eat in the area, except for when the Thursday farmers market is in town.

The Business Park was sorely needing a new place to eat, any place! However, we didn’t just get any old place, we got far more than we expected. Fresh food, amazing baked goods(the cookies are some of the best I have ever had, anywhere), and a friendly and flexible staff. Lucky us!

Thank Gawd this place opened! My co-workers and I have only ever had one option in the area for lunch, Why CROOK Café(actually called Why Cook Café, but the owner is a crook). Looks like we’ll all be going here now instead. I just had the veggie burrito and there are actually fresh veggies in it: squash, zucchini, bell peppers, and such. My co-worker had the BLT Chicken sandwich and loved it. Great customer service. Friendly and helpful staff that asked us if we were enjoying our food and experience. Fresh-baked bread and pastries, from the pastry chef himself. We’ve been waiting for this for years! Yay!

This is a great addition to this part of the island I have been working across the street at Body Techniques for years and always wanted something tasty near by. I called and ordered ahead and I’m glad I did there were 6 – 8 people in line. I wish they had a pickup line though I had to wait behind all the people ordering in the shop. The food was good but a little dry. I will be back again. The directions to this place are kinda funny but follow the signs to the 1311 building and Oscars is located in between.

This place is a welcomed breath of fresh air compared to the pile of a restaurant that was here before. The food is delicious, and the staff is friendly. I have tried a Regular burrito with chicken, Oscar’s Nachos with chicken and the Super Seafood burrito. Everything was delicious. The food tastes nice and fresh. My favorite so far has been the Super Seafood Burrito. They don’t skimp on the shrimp! Great place to try if you work in the area.

FINALLY! A beacon of hope in the dark and desolate food wasteland that is Harbor Bay Business Park. I heard about this place via word of mouth at El Caballo on Lincoln, and it has not yet disappointed. The California burrito is exactly what I’ve been missing, and is absolutely perfect. The tortilla soup is good, as I would expect, and they bake their own bread and cookies, which are incredible. Can’t wait to try everything on the menu. THANKYOUFOROPENINGHERE!
