I came in to see Sonia for a much needed haircut! She is so cute and she listens to everything you want and have in mind!
The shop is small, intimate, and pink and it just has a familiar feel! I really enjoyed my visit and I look forward to my next cut AND color with Sonia!

Unfortunately for me I have found a hair stylist … in Alameda. I now live in Southern Oregon. Lori gave me a brand new do last Friday and I LOVE it. I had no idea what I wanted but we talked about it and Voila! A stylish cut. Thanks Annie for the recommendation!

Lori is a nice person, but she will NEVER touch my hair again. Never gets the cut right. Always «hanging chads» (her words) and your gray hairs are not covered. Highlights we’re a disaster and she fried my hair between whatever smelly products used and her old broken blow dryer. I brought my own styling products and she still put this awful oil on my burned hair. (does NOT listen or see well). You never blow dry on HIGH setting, without an attachment nozzle! I could smell my hair burning! And, she didnt start the HL at the root! Still using 1980’s hair techniques in the 21^st century. Really? Had to sit under a dryer! I came home in tears and had to cancel my birthday plans. She new I was having a 50 year lunch celebration. My boyfriend and son couldn’t believe how my shoulder length, thick, healthy hair was ruined!
After going around town to other salons, no one would touch my hair due to the damage done. I had to let it grow out, deep condition one a week for 10 weeks. Expensive repair, but I now am back with my PROFESSIONAL colorist in SF, where I belong. Lori did return my money, but I have not yet billed her for damages that I incurred. It takes stages to undo these damages. By Christmas, I pray. I’m having a winter white wedding :-)

I needed a salon in Alameda. I found Sonia at Some Like It Hot! Color, bang cut and my hair looking beautiful each time I walk out. She also does up-​does and had me look fantastic under my top hat for the Edwardian Ball. Thank you Sonia.

Sonia is incredibly talented! She has a great sense of style with both color & cut and always stays current on hair trends. I moved from Alameda over a decade ago but wouldn’t think of leaving my hair to anyone else!

I got my hair color & haircut today at this salon and boy, Sonia my hairdresser really did a good job! Actually Ive been going to Some Like It Hot for years now and I can say I never experience leaving the place regretful or disappointed. Sonia is such a nice lady, always willing to take care of her clients’ hair needs. Most especially she uses the best hair products like the Pureology. Thanks Sonia, youre the best! Off with the hair! Going to work for 5 weeks in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia is enough in itself, but cutting my hair short for the trip is something entirely else! I would not leave it to anyone but Sonia. She has been doing my hair for over 12 years, and doing it great. I still drive over the SR bridge for her, even though I left Alameda 5 years ago. She is worth the drive.
The small salon has Sonia and Laurie working their magic. They have been together as salon partners for umpteen years. The salon is clean, modern and chic, without a huge price tag for cut and colors.
They have an array of great hair products, and nail polishes. Sonia does manicures and pedicures, waxing and eyebrow dying as well.
It is a very comfortable environment. One I will continue to return to time and time again.
