Spa Tech

Spa Tech and especially Katie are awesome! I got a gorgeous organic spray tan and wanted to be extra dark, Katie contoured me and gave me the dark beautiful brown color for no extra charge. She is so fun and inviting and her business is very clean and beautiful. She really takes her time and makes you feel comfortable. I will definitely be back! Thank you, Katie:)

Fabulous place with awesome staff! Josie did my nails and she was knowledgable and creative! I love the setting, very calm and spa like, and they have great nail products.

So, Spa Tech is a sister business to the hopping Hair Tech Salon next door. After getting gorgeous hair from Hair Tech, (read my Unilocal review for them here:
) I got a mani-​pedi and spray tan from Spa Tech. The spa space alone should really be 50% of why you go: it’s bright, local artists are featured on her walls, and Katie, (the owner of Hair Tech and Spa Tech) has a great eye for décor.
Josie took care of my nails. In the past, I’ve always gotten my nails done at those «fast-​food» kind of salons. They are fine, but sometimes I feel like the women are just going through the motions, and they really could care less if they do a good job or not. Polar opposite getting my nails done by Josie. Jose genuinely loves doing nails, was very meticulous about everything, and super sweet as a person. I got a really pretty gel peach color with a gel glitter overlay. It’s a color that’d normally be outside of my comfort zone, but it came out really nice.
Katie did my spray tan, (my first time ever getting one!) and I came out glowing. Her technique and shade choice left me looking perfectly sun-​kissed and toned, (she does contouring). I’m not a vain person, but I kinda couldn’t stop looking at myself in the mirror. lol
I have a wedding to go to tomorrow, and I feel like I’ll be the flyest girl in there. lol

This is a new spa in Alameda and I wasn’t quite sure what I would be in for when I walked in. This is Katie Andersen (who owns Hair Tech next store) sister spa which is going to be featuring all of the beauty services I get on the regular (eyelash extensions, gel nails, pedicures and spray tans — plus tons of other services). *Im looking forward to trying the other services!
The spray tan did not disappoint! I was on my way out of town for Spring Training in Arizona and needed a blast of color so I could hang with the rest of them in the desert. Katie’s trademarked style and wild approach were all on deck as we walked to the back of the spa to a «shed». At first I thought «A shed? This is happening in a shed?» but its the perfect space for a private spray tan.
The tan I got was beautiful — its a walnut color, and there was absolutely no streaking or orangy-​ness. It lasted alot longer than other spray tans i’ve received. This is definitely where i will be going for every spray tan. I had to stop going to tanning beds after finally accepting how bad for my skin they were (countless articles online and warnings from my mom and friends). It feels great to have a spa that cares about quality products, does a great job and is also hilarious to hang out at. Must visit!
