Overall it’s location, location & location. The poor review I just read has most of my same gripes but not much around here as far as quality plus roomy spaces for apartments. Seems everyone has a bit if the slumlord flu. Ahhhh chhhoooooo!!!

We’ve lived here for a year and we are definitely pleased with our experience. The management is the best I’ve come across; very organized and prompt when problems arise(which isn’t often – once we had issues with our garbage disposal and that was resolved in a few days). As others have stated, the biggest downside is the kitchen, but it was easy to put up with given that our living experience as a whole here was a positive one. Because the apartments are small you’re bound to hear noise from other apartments or outside, but all of the other residents I’ve come across are considerate and are not loud people. Overall, this is a great place to live.

The building it’s self looks nice and well maintaned. And the guy who showed me the unit up for rent(I’m assuming he’s the property manager) was very polite and proffessional. But the one bedroom unit I was shown was very small. The bedroom might have had enough room for my full sized bed and a small dresser. The closet shelves and cupboards looked like they had seen some wear and were just painted over. It reminded me of some high-schooler’s wood shop project. The kitchen was very small also, and i like to to cook and am used to more space. The balcony had a wonderful view of the next apartment complex’s parking lot. If the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom were larger i might have considered moving in.

I have had a very positive experience in the three years that I have lived at Wavecrest Apartments. The units are well maintained and professionally run. The building manager always responded in a timely manner to any calls we made for repairs. We have had virtually no problems with any of the other residents in the complex(which is amazing, given that this is a very large property with many units in it). This leads me to to assume that management does a thorough screening of applicants before they move in. The 2BR apartments are decent-size, the only downside is the VERY small kitchens. I don’t cook much anyway, so not a huge problem for me! We lucked out and got a ground floor end unit, so we have a large patio that wraps around two sides of the apartment. Having the extra outdoor space is a very nice bonus. There is also a pool in the complex, and two laundry rooms. Also, the apartment complex is just one block from the beach, which is a huge plus! The only reason we are moving from our apartment at the end of this month is because we need a little more living space and decided to rent a house in Alameda. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to live in Alameda!
