Yumygurt Frozen Yogurt

This yogurt shop has closed down.

Yumygurt is closed. A new business has taken over the space. Tmix is in the house and based on another Unilocaler’s review, I will try the mango milk tea with boba soon, as in tomorrow… LOL. Tmix is not far from my home… walking distance… yay.
This has got to be the shortest review I have done.

Stopped by for some fro-​yo while waiting for my laundry to finish a few doors down. I love the location and convenience, and the selection was small, but good. My only problem is that the fro-​yo has a slight mechanical taste to it. I don’t know if it is because their machines need to be cleaned, but I threw out most of mine because of it. It was very noticeable in the original tart, and less noticeable in the chocolate. Next time, I’ll stick to ice cream.

Not very many choices, and the location is not great as well.
The staff was friendly, and accommodating, but not enough options on the menu, and the décor is dated. I would suggest investing some into the location décor, or possibly moving the business to somewhere on Webster St.

The texture of the froyo is alright, its just the taste that is horrid. I had their chocolate in a small size. Not only was it expensive, it was disgusting. It was a good thing they gave a lot, but I couldnt even get through half of it because it was just so disgusting!

This place may not be the most trendliest froyo spot but it’s definitely delicious!
I get my nails done at Tina’s nails and finally decided to go in. Theres always an abundance of parking!!! (yay if you hate parallel parking) Their menu is large!!! From smoothies to fresh fruit swirls! They have seating, but it can get pretty crampy.
I ordered the first thing on their smoothie menu. The pomegranite blueberry! It was delish!!! The man made it on the spot, placed fresh bananas and in a few moments its done!

Not as many flavor choices as many other frozen yogurt places, and it’s not self-​serve. However, they do serve Lappert’s ice cream from Hawaii and that’s a big plus here. We got served by what appeared to be the owner and he provided great service.
Another plus here is the shopping mall easy parking.

Unilocalers apparently think very highly of Yummygurt, the reviews are consistently high and people love the shop owner… Yeah… I wasn’t impressed. I’m not a yogurt fan so I opted for the classical strawberry ice cream. Not a good idea.
Traditional flavors like vanilla, strawberry and chocolate are the foundation of many ice-​cream shops. Yummygurt should be no exception. DON’T tell me they don’t specialize in ice-​cream when half of the shop is devoted to ice-​cream. Yummygurt failed.
The ice cream was overly creamy and extremely sweet. The texture was too soft and more like yogurt. The owner wasn’t rude nor was he friendly. The ice cream wasn’t enjoyable and we just threw it away. Yogurt shops are like cults and I’m sure the Yummygurts will cry foul but I have no plans to return.

Great flavors and great service! I come here at least twice a week for my fro yo fix! The manager, Benny, is always generous with the portions and toppings!
The spot is always clean and extremely popular with the locals. Like a previous poster said, Benny is ALWAYS working! It does make me a little sad at times, so I always go out of my way to make sure HE smiles when I leave!

Not sure how this place got such rave reviews. There are definitely more yogurt establishments that top this one. There is nothing special about this one, and it is just as or more (I think more) expensive than the others. Consistency between flavors was not there (one was melting, the other was solid), and the taste wasn’t all that impressive. I was surprised by the cost of the yogurt given that this is NOT on Park Street, but rather, a small strip mall tucked in the corner of Webster and Central. Certainly not worth more than a couple of stars. Would have to agree with previous reviewer in saying that I might frequent it more if I lived there, but…
Customer service? I was served by an older asian gentleman who neither smiled nor greeted me and my toddler son when I walked in. Not sure what others are talking about.

Hmm… I think I have been spoiled by a few of my favorite yogurt places. The bar has been set pretty high, and sadly Yumy just did not cut it. This place is in a little strip mall at Central and Webster. The store is a decent size, but disorganized and without much style. First impression was not all that good, but we came to check this place out since we had a by one get one free coupon, so we were committed.
The owner was there right away to help us. I had expectations from my fellow Unilocalers that the owner was overly friendly and engaging, but this was not the case. I take this as neither here nor there and do not change my rating based on it. Just do not expect much.
The yogurt is not self serve. That is a huge issue for me. I like a sample of this and a sample of that. But the non self-​serve toppings are worse… I literally will get one gummy worm, a scoop of mochi, a small spoon of sprinkle, etc. Maybe I am a control freak, or maybe I just like to have as little or as much as I want. I do not mind paying for what I purchase, but I do not want a full scoop of anything.
This place was ok, but I would rather find somewhere I can get the yogurts I want with the toppings I want in the amounts I want. I am pretty sure there is at least one of these in Alameda. I will track it down. I will not likely go back here, but I am also not close to this establishment. It might be different if I lived next door.

How I discovered this place was hearing from my boss that the frozen yogurt pies are really good! I picked up about 10 all together for an event I was having for the organization I worked at. Me and my boyfriend picked up the pies and saw that there were a lot more other stuff there (smoothies, shakes, coffee, gelato, and yes my favorite frozen yogurt!).
Me and my boyfriend decided to come back and try the froyo. We got the large to share. The owner really hooks it up by going above the rim of the cup! The toppings were 85 cents for 1. We decided to do two– mochi and oreo cookie. Me and boyfriend loved the flavor of the original tart and the mochi was pretty fresh and chewy. It was delicious and I *as we speak* plan to go here after work as a treat for myself from a loooonnnng week. I plan to try the peanut butter chocolate pudding pie and froyo with the boyfriend! =o)

The owner who works there is SO nice. They have a cool buy-​one-​get-​one coupon you can use on their frozen yogurt, too. The ice cream is quality stuff. OUTDOOR SEATING TOO!
Tasty sweet treats! Lotsa toppings to choose from! Pleasant and clean interior! Oh, and free parking!

IMO Oakland and Alameda don’t have much to offer and anything offered by these two cities always ends up in some form of disappointment. However, I am happy to announce that this little local business serves «YUMMY» frozen yogurt and with «YUMMY» service.
The owner, I’m assuming here, was very eager to have us taste several flavors, he informed us that they mix they froyo at the business and he seemed very proud of their product. I’m always for supporting local shops and this is one that I will be supporting.

this place is in the same shopping area as recruiters from the air force, marines and navy should one get an urge to join them.
flavors available: golden gate chocolate, french vanilla, vanilla bean, raspberry, kona coffee, original tart, mango tart from yocream dannon.
15ish toppings, 5ish fruit toppings, some are dried. .85cents each.
sm (2.95), M (3.65), l (4.25).
–raspberrry: very tart, sherbet like some razzy taste.
–vanilla bean: lacking in vanilaness, very bland.
overall a disappointment, wasn’t offer any samples, didn’t ask for any. had tart somewhere else that was very good. (carwash).

It’s freezing outside but for some reason I was craving frozen yogurt all morning. I decided to stroll on down here with the boyfriend and dog. I had the «Berry Berry» fro-​yo with rainbow «jimmies» (sprinkles). I walked down to Crab Cove with my frozen treat and little family while wishing the whole time I’d gone with the Lapert’s Ice Cream instead.
It wasn’t horrible, but the frozen yogurt seemed like it was frost bitten. It wasn’t smooth, and kinda lumpy at the bottom. The «jimmies» redeemed it… sort of. My yogurt was not pretty like the cups in the pictures people had posted here. It looked like the lavender leaning tower of Pisa with a moat of rainbow sprinkles. Almost dildo-​esque. It made eating it more fun but didn’t improve the quality.
–1 for the ice-​like texture of the yogurt.
–1 for the price. Almost 4 bucks for a small.
–1 for the napkin wrapped around my cup. Although I would usually appreciate it, it smelled like the ass wiping tissue in my elementary school’s bathroom.

After Sushi House, my girl and I were craving froyo!
Not too many places in the area, but Yumygurt came up on Unilocalmobile so we gave it a try.

We stuck to the original plan and sampled all the froyo flavors. There was Pumpkin, Mango, Kiwi, Blueberry, Tart and a few others…
I got the Crème Brulee! it was delish with granola :)
Service was nice, the man behind the counter was pacient as we tried all 7 or however many flavors they offer.

I’m giving Yumygurt 5 stars only because I think a 3 star average seems a little low. Overall, it’s a fine yogurt place… convenient cuz it’s close to us.
We went tonight and found a good selection of different yogurts: chocolate, vanilla, original tart, peach tart, green apple, berry, pumpkin and some other sugar-​free ones that I didn’t bother with. I found the owner actually very nice and friendly, letting us try as many flavors as we wanted. I definitely will go back just so I don’t have to drive all the way down to Park Street.

3.5 because it’s the only decent place near me! came here with my boyfriend and my niece once because we were craving fro yo AS USUAL! The second I saw the toppings I freaked because I saw mochi bites! My bf and I shared the mango with mochi bites of course!!! But we were very disappointed because we paid $ 0.75 for like 6 pieces of mochi!!! WTH totally not worth the cost!!! BUT!!! he was VERY generous with the fro yo and packed it in the cup pretty well. They have a variety of other goodies as well, but I am not sure if I want to come back for the fro yo.
They were nice but all frowns and no smiles! boo! YOu should be happy to have an easy job serving goodies!!! shame on you!!!

This is actually the only true fro yo place in all of the isle of Alameda. The guy that runs the place is really nice and the place always looks really clean. Not much décor or atmosphere to the place, but then again, why do you want to stay and eat there.
