Unethical or downright illegal? Chris Murrell and his counselors should not be trusted with your children. 1) Chris pulled my son and 4 other boys aside during their trip to Waterworld, despite my daughter’s protest, and had them pose for a photo and used their names to purchase 5 season passes which HETHENKEPT for future use when he brings the next round of campers to Waterworld. He did not have consent to take photos of our kids or enter their names in anyone’s database, much less use our son’s photo fraudulently with other children. When we questioned Chris about this he didn’t return our calls and his reply to my e-mail was simply«I’ll cut up your son’s card and mail it to you» 2) One counselor was texting while driving a van full of kids. To his credit, Chris addressed this quickly but then let the driver continue to drive the kids. I’m all up for second chances, but: 3) The same counselor, Roy, continued to race the other vans and at one point on the way home from one of the attractions, pulled off the highway, into a gas station and left the van full of kids while he ran into the gas station to purchase an Arizona Iced Tea. I should have been suspicious when the camp’s agreement spends over half a page explaining the«Complaint Procedure». As mentioned in other reviews, Chris changes the name of his camp each summer to dodge these reviews and accusations. Please see reviews under California Adventure Camp, East Bay Summer Camps, East Bay Sports & his newest camp name, Summer adventure day camps. Even though the name & address has changed(again), it is still the same camp, run by the same owner(CM). If you click on the website you won’t see the name very easily but he has voted himself as the best summer camps in the east bay.
