I love the soups at Panera. I usually get the pick 2 option with soup and salad. Yummy. Keep me away from those cinnamon rolls! The person working in the dining room was very helpful, even getting me ice water which is something I am supposed to get myself. I later saw this same employee escorting an elderly woman to her car. You don’t see that at most restaurants.

The food is decent but the service is so slow! My best experience was when I ordered online and just pulled in to pick up lunch for the family. Otherwise, if we eat there, it can take up to 20 – 30 mins to get our food! There never seems to be a manager around either. Alamo needed a place like this, but they really need to get their act together!

I was pretty excited to see Panera open in Alamo. My kids and I made it a weekly ritual to come here on Saturday mornings. My son even memorized the table numbers and eventually found his favorite table where we dined every week. I really tried to love this place. The employees are generally friendly and the service was quick. I also love the fact that you can eat in the bank vault. However, there was an incident involving their Kid’s Yogurt a few weeks ago that was pretty gross. We always receive a stick of yogurt that comes with their Mac N Cheese. That day, I decided to examine it and discovered that the date on the stick was several weeks earlier. I approached the pick-up window expecting them to just exchange it for a new one. To my surprise, they actually told me that yogurt is good 1YEAR after the date on the stick! Something didn’t sound right about that but I simply didn’t have time to argue with them. The employee seems so confident of that fact and, without hesitation, she refused to exchange it. Of course, I didn’t give it to my son. When I got home, I contacted the manufacturer. They confirmed that the date on the yogurt is the expiration date and should not consumed after that. The fact that an employee would say that makes me suspicious of their food safety practices for all their food. So, I guess I won’t be returning to this location again…

Workers are very kind and friendly! Monet was patient enough to look up how much sugar is in their poppyseed dressing!(Full size salad: 5g). 3⁄19 Listening to the workers make fun of my order. I had the ham egg and cheese bagel but no egg. I can’t eat egg… But apparently that’s amusing to them. I’ll take my «grilled cheese» sorry it is so disturbing for you. R

This is a disappointing location. After several visits(mostly for take out)…The portions are smaller and they do a poor job of putting things together. The last time I went my sandwich didn’t even have enough ingredients in it to cover the bread. It also doesn’t smell good inside. It reminds me of walking into a hospital cafeteria. Something is just not right. The staff taking orders are friendly. I think the place would improve if management spent time fine tuning operations and working with employees to take more pride in their work.

Back again, why do I keep coming back? I get a water cup and grab a straw, a decision that I immediately regretted. There was a gooey brown substance smeared on the straws. What was it? I didn’t stay long enough to to find out.

Me and my mom came for brunch opening day. We were so excited that a new restaurant was opening in Alamo! We’re a small town, and it’s a pretty big deal when a new restaurant opens. Each Panera is practically the same, not much variation, but needless to say I was impressed with this Panera… at first. Environment is clean, homely… But then again, it looks like every other Panera I’ve been to. Same old, same old. The staff was very kind and eager to attend to the customer’s needs… on opening day only. Since they’ve opened, we’ve been there maybe about 15 times. Eight of those times we came specifically for steel-cut oatmeal, and every single time THEYDIDN’T HAVEANY!!! Oatmeal is essentially half of the breakfasts they serve… What kind of café runs out of oatmeal at 8:30AM(the first time) or 9:45AM(the second time)? The staff of course was super nice on opening day, but each time I’ve been back, I’ve been quite displeased with the service. They don’t maintain the bathrooms well either. There needs to be some serious improvement here. I’d rather make the drive to Walnut Creek or San Ramon than go here. If I had come here my first time at a Panera, I can assure you that I wouldn’t be eating at these restaurants. This Panera represents the entire restaurant chain very poorly.

Such great salads, soups, and sandwiches. The order ahead app makes it super easy for moms on the go. Only suggestion would be to enclose the outdoor patio more, also you run out of the bread bowls early in the day.

Hmm. As mentioned in my previous review, I’ve only used the Rapid Pickup service here, never dined in. On a recent order pick-up, I noticed the Pasta Primavera was actually missing the noodles(there was just a dab of sauce and three or so pieces of broccoli in a bowl in my bag). I called and spoke with an employee(manager not in) who offered to replace my meal, and I scheduled my pick-up time for 5 p.m. When I returned later for pickup, I spoke with the manager who found that my order had not been placed from my earlier phone call. He immediately put my order in, apologized and offered an extra slice of baguette, and explained that for pasta primavera dishes, they bag the pasta separately from the sauce, so someone just missed adding it to my bag. In addition, now having tried a few more of their menu items, I notice some of their soups and sandwich lunchmeats are just too salty for me. Panera isn’t exactly cheap, so just don’t feel I’m getting what I should for the price. Not crossing it off my lunch list, just not one of my top-of-the-list picks anymore for a grab n go lunch.

I ordered a cup of tomato soup. The cup wasn’t even filled half way. That’s some crap service.

Slow but nice people. Weird pick up system. Food was edible — At least there were some healthy options.

First, they were out of apples for their Fuji Apple salad. Second, the take-out order took 20 minutes to prepare for 5 adults. Last, they messed up the order and gave us the wrong sandwich. They store manager and employees need more time to get their act together

Great location! Rapid pick up is awesome. I can order on my phone and the food has always been ready in about 10 minutes.

I like their salads, soups and sandwiches. However, each time I go in here, they never seem to get my order right. Last week the conversation sounded something like: «Can I get a chocolate chip cookie?» «Sure, what kind of cookie?» «Chocolate chip» «Ok» “And, can I get a decaf coffee” «Sure, regular or decaf?» «Decaf» and so, while I like the food… the service leaves a little to be desired…

Dropped in today and had the Tomato and Mozzarella flat bread, and the Classic Café salad. The flat bread looked like it had been haphazardly thrown together. The presentation was awful with the ingredients also not appearing very fresh. The salad was pretty lame as well. It was poorly dressed and the portion was about enough for a small rabbit. The selection of iced tea’s are tasty. I liked the green tea with infused papaya. The service at the register lacked«energy», and the table server was also on the quiet side. It appears that they have hired a younger crowd, but they will learn as they go likely. The parking is tight in the parking lot, as the addition of Panera to the Alamo Plaza Shopping Center(which was already tight) has now taken up the last few highly coveted available slots. Might give it one more shot in a few months and see if things have improved in regards to the overall food quality.

Sorry to have to write this. Ordered the broth bowl that was listed as Quinoa and Lentils. I am vegan and it appeared it would work if I with held the meat or egg option. Too salty, no lentils that I could see or taste. More brown rice then Quinoa. The other issue to occur at this location was they were out of ice tea(plain unsweetened) We talked to three different staff members. Nothing was done and we had ordered ice tea with our meals. Disappointed probably will not go back. Was able to speak to a manager, but all I could do was inform about our experience there.

Yeah welcome to the neighborhood. We are so glad you are here. The staff is great. They came and checked on us a few times. The technology is great as well. You can use the kiosks or use your phone to order to eat in. Really convenient!

Very small portions and very expensive. It is super expensive to eat in Alamo in the first place. This just didn’t do it for me. Broth Bowl & a drink over $ 12 bucks. I would need two of these to be filled up. Bowl of soup over $ 5 bucks They do have really good lemonade. Pass.

Standard Panera. If you’ve ever been, you know what they serve. If you haven’t been, then you’re in store for really good pastries, breads, soups and salads. Nice location. Alamo needs another decent middle-of-the-road restaurant so I’m happy Panera has landed here. First day, the staff seemed to be on the ball. Food tasted great. The restaurant is squeaky clean. I think you’ll find this to be another great addition to the chain.
