I love all libraries, but this is a good one. They have good fast Wi-Fi, and at least one table where eight people can sit and have room to plug their laptops(phones, etc) in.

They have a great selection of books. They get the newly released ones rather quickly as well. The library’s staff is helpful and friendly. They also have a very quick and easy self check out.

For the most part, the Albany Library is very good. For a small town, this library has a large and diverse selection of books and other media. For that reason alone, I recommend it. I have experienced two minor problems, however. 1. At times, the place has a distinct odor… sort of like the smell of a long time homeless person. Maybe it’s because many homeless do regularly use the facility, especially in the winter(when the odor seems strongest). That, or someone is peeing on the carpet. 2. While most of the library staff is friendly and helpful, avoid a woman named Beth. Usually, short, overweight, and less than attractive people make up for their lack of appeal with a charming personality. But not Beth… ya grumpy old toad.

I’m new to The Land of Love(AKA: Albany) and have a long commute. I started listening to audio books(which can be spendy!). A friend asked me if I used the public library. For audio books? They do that? Yes, yes, they do! I went in yesterday to get my first library card since I was a kid. With the proper ID, I was in and out within a few minutes and by last night, had downloaded my first audio book. Easy breezy I’m impressed and I’m thankful I can save so much money. Our tax dollars at work, baby!
