Love it here, my go to place when I need to tame my brows! Ever since I started getting threaded, I would never go back to waxing. Yes, it’s somewhat painful, but so is waxing. The lines are crisp and there is no sticky residue left on your face. The ladies working are always friendly and you can’t beat $ 10 to get your brows done. Downgrading one star only because if they are busy, and only have one person working, you can end up waiting a while.

Located inside colonie mall this has been my eyebrow threading rock since I moved to Albany. When I first moved to Albany I was concerned, not knowing if I would be able to find a good place to groom my brows. I was fortunate enough to find Arch Threading about 1 month into living in Albany, and I’m so glad I did. I’ve been going there for 4 years now and haven’t had any significant moments of horror and certainly no brow-emergencies. Sure there’s been a minor mishap or 2– no one’s perfect– but nothing significantly scarring. The staff is always friendly and efficient. There can be a bit of a wait depending on how many people are ahead of you but usually not more than 15 min and once you get on the chair, the ladies are like brow threading ninjas– 5 min absolute max. Sara and Yogi are my expert threaders– relatively painless, quick and always reliable. All essential qualities when you need something done on a regular basis. And if you’re a frequent flyer– which if you do any type of grooming like this you’re bound to be– they offer a punch card which gets you $ 5 off after 5 threads. They also offer facial and upper lip threading as well as other services, however, I can’t comment since I have not used these.

I’m back home visiting my family, and didn’t get a chance to get my eyebrows done before I hit the road. So, I ended up packing my Nads DIY eyebrow kit, fully prepared to tackle these Groucho Marx-esque(sp) things growing above my eyes. Fast forward to black Friday, my cousin says«I know a place that does great threading.» I was a tad skeptical since I always get my grooming done back in MD or DC. But I tried it and they did a wonderful job! It wasn’t as painful as past threading experiences and my eyebrows are SNATCHED hunty! My aunt and little cousin even decided to give it a first time try and were very pleased with the results. I’d definitely recommend this little mall shop to anyone looking for that perfect arch.

Omg! Arch Salon has opened another place in Clifton Park! Apparently they’ve been open for 5 months and I can’t believe I wasn’t aware of it. I wouldn’t have known of their new location if I didn’t come across a LivingSocial coupon that stated their new address. So happy! All the girls are professional and friendly, and I’ve not had one who didn’t know what she was doing. So glad I no longer have to come up with reasons to drive all the way to Crossgates to get threaded — now I can just go in any time as it’s only a 5 min drive from home!

Probably the longest wait ever. I walked out because I waited about 40 mins only to have someone cut me in line. So annoying. I will never go here again.

Unisex threading salon! Wait, I can’t hear your excitement. I said, ‘UNISEX threading salon!’ It is a rare treat when men can also experience this beautifying technique. Now, not too many people want to endure the joy of hair removal. For those brave souls that do, we know that a skilled artist is necessary. Sara and a couple others at Arch are exactly this. I started out at Just Threading in Crossgates but after a few times of being cut and having broken hairs I moved on. I prefer to see the owner because she knows exactly what I am there for and she is quick –a feat considering I have thick curly hair that most threaders fear. Plus, she is a license cosmetologist and teaches the women on staff. A win all the way around! They offer an array of threading services and Henna. Best of all, they have great lighting so you know they can actually see what they are doing and you can, too. Last time I was there they had also added a quaint display of scarves, bracelets and more. You can even get child sized jewelry! Walk-ins are welcome –I actually don’t know if they take appointments. Ha! If they are busy, just grab a seat and enjoy the music. *You’ll know it by the vibrant orange walls, welcoming décor and upbeat music. Oh, and by the TV showing you what threading is! ===Tip for newbies: Be clear about what you want done and make sure they understand and agree, too.
