Oh, the Yuletide season that brings me to such a state that I’m willing to brave the assault on the nostrils that is the usual C&E store. I used to have a good friend who was a clerk at another C&E, and we’d go and visit her there and buy bath salts for our moms or somesuch to support her and get the take on her shift up a bit, and even then with some external motivation I could barely stand to stay in the store with its bouquet of perfume, paraffin, and je né sais quois. Add to this an organizational conceit that I have never quite figured out, and you have a person wandering around confused like he’s mixed medications with a couple of shots of blended $ 4.99 a two-liter-bottle whiskey before blissfully falling back out the door. This particular C&E is on the small side and I can’t tell it apart from any other C&E location. Just not a fan of the chain; if you like it, I’m sure it’s fine.

Your typical Crabtree & Evelyn. This store also carries a nice assortment of Vera Bradley products. I absolutely adore their foot care products, particularly their combination pumice stone and foot brush. Good stuff.
