It is a above average Chinese take out restaurant. I had both take out and deliver before. Deliver is fast most of time, but it can be a little longer during rush hours. Their all hand made dumplings are like drake to me. My favor food is dumplings since i was a little child. The ribs are awesome which are much better than i had ribs in TGI Friday. The ribs in TGI Friday were just like ribs you buy them from BJ’s fridge. The people at the restaurant are friendly.

Ordered their chicken Szechuan for lunch when I was in the mood for American Chinese cuisine. It was not so good. I expected it to be spicy, or peppery as Szechuan is supposed to be. Perhaps I should go there one more time and try something else on the menu. In regards to the service, the woman there at the time when I went did not seem rude to me at all. She actually taught me how to correctly say the word«Szechuan» since she had a hard time understanding what I was saying when I tried to order over the phone. She actually smiled a couple times. The food was ready in less than 8 minutes(could be why it didn’t taste so good; I don’t know).

This place is now called the NEW Gold Key Chinese Kitchen, it looks like it’s under new management. Really good Chinese food. The rice has eggs which is rare around here. The pepper steak was really tender and full of flavor. Good general tso, but not the best I’ve had. The dumplings are AMAZING, they have A LOT of pork and had a lot flavor. Good portions for the price, and they typically have your food ready in 10 minutes even when ordering through grub hub

The egg foo young sauce is not the gravy-like sauce you usually get. The sauce was dark brown and oily. It didn’t taste like much. Also, it was very similar to the dipping sauce for the steamed dumplings. If I wanted an omelette I would have gone to a diner. Definitely disappointing.

Got the completely wrong order. Called the driver back to be hung up on. Called the restaurant and they argued with me. Plus the«chicken» I got was disgusting.

We really liked it! We recently picked up a to-go order of the sesame chicken and General Tso chicken dinner combos, along with some fried dumplings. We called in the order and it was ready to pick up in less than 15 minutes. The dumplings were good and we enjoyed our chicken, we thought the price was reasonable and Gold Key will likely be our go-to Chinese takeout place. I wouldn’t probably eat at the restaurant because there were only a few tables and the atmosphere was pretty dull. It appeared designed to be a take-out place. Customer service was fine! No one was rude to us.

I’ve been to Gold Key a handful of times and every time I find myself there I’m reminded of why I avoid it. The food is mediocre at best and the people have been ridiculously rude to me on multiple occasions. I avoid it at all costs now!

there are about a million Chinese restaurants in Albany, and I drive out of my way to get food from Gold Key. among other great dishes, their steamed dumplings are amazing.

Heck, even dives can serve good food. This is not one of those places. Its only saving grace is that it’s located across the street from a hospital(coinky?). Additionally, I don’t care if it’s a takeout spot, and I’m only in there a couple of minutes — if the person behind the counter doesn’t look me in the eye, and then places my order on the counter, calls out«noodle soup» in a volume I can barely hear, and then walks back to the kitchen without so much as a «thank you» or «go to hell,» you can best believe I won’t be coming back. Want decent Chinese food? Trek on over to Ichiban; you won’t be disappointed.
