I am in ham heaven.
They had to kill a whole entire army of pigs with the amount of ham that they have stocked here. This place is the real deal. Very good sandwiches at okay prices (somewhere in between cheap and expensive). Sure the workers could be a bit friendlier, but they do a good job whipping your sandwich together in a decent time.
Second best place to get sandwiches (after The Cookie Shoppe downtown).

I grabbed a boxed lunch to go. When you walk in, the order counter is to the left. You must fill out a form to place your order, which you then set on the counter. When your order is up, your name is called.
The menu consists of make your own sandwiches, specialty sandwiches, as well as various sides such as ham salad and potato salad.
I ordered a ham sandwich on marble rye with lettuce, tomato, Swiss cheese, and mustard along with a bottle of water and a chocolate chip cookie. Although busy at lunchtime, my order took only about 10 minutes. I would recommend this place for a quick sandwich.

Started out worried, but ended with a bang. The service could be a bit more friendly for South Georgia. However, the sandwich — roast beef and cheddar — was perfect. Great bread, great meat, great cheese. Add chips and a diet coke and your lunch is set. Atmosphere was nice and the friendly people added to the experience. Wife enjoyed her sandwich as well and liked the chicken noodle soup.
Definite return trip soon.
One thing to note, the ladies in the back work well as a team. I would expect they handle a heavy lunch rush with ease.

The best service and select cuts of turkey of any of the other Heavenly Ham stores I have eaten at in GA. It is my «go to» place for lunch in Albany!
