This is an organized, friendly and clean Indian grocery store. They have the fresh veggies, chutneys, frozen and ready to eat items, everything you might need for preparation of Indian food. Good prices. I am very glad to find them in the Albany area, it saves me from shlepping the items from Patel’s in Jackson Heights.

When I lived in Albany NY from 2008 till 2011, I never appreciated the cleanliness and organization of this store. Now I really appreciate it and miss it a lot when I am in Cleveland, OH. While Albany is a small city with few Indians, it has not deterred the owners from maintaining highest standards of food. They have consistently provided with fresh fruits and vegetables(shipment comes on Thursday). They also have a very good selection of other ready to eat Indian food. I have been a regular here and now when I visit Albany I enjoy it a little more than before.

This place is no doubt good but a bit costly. Prices are way high in comparison to other indian grocery stores. But they compensate prices in form of large variety of spices, lentils and other stuff. In need of another grocery store with low prices.

This has become my go-to South Asian market in the area. Their selection is really incredible, and the staff I encountered were exceedingly friendly, if not very helpful. Specifically, I was looking at different spice blends. And I was curious which of the two had less heat(I’m cooking for children who used to be able to tolerate spicy food, but now either cannot or will not). While the clerk didn’t know the heat level of the different blends, he did inform me that one of them had a picture of a Hindu god on the package, and it was very popular with the Hindu’s who came into the store. Together we shared a chuckle over the marketing genius of putting a picture of god on your product. I mean… if you are a believer… how could you NOT buy it? Anyhow, somehow I accidently offended the poor fellow. He is a believer, but he’s Christian. Fine by me. I apologized, for the inadvertent snafu, and took my goods to checkout. I couldn’t have been too much of an oaf, because they threw in a free India Bazaar ballpoint pen to boot. Replete with American flags, the Statue of Liberty, and all other forms identifying the grocer as a proud American business.

We dropped in here for a few Samosa’s to go, which we very good. On the shopping side, loads of indian products and spices. Reasonable and friendly service, and a very nice looking pasry fridge.

I’m a sucker for ethnic grocery stores. I love browsing the aisles to see what lurks within. I was thrilled when I checked this place out. An abundance of Indian chutneys, sauces, mixes, and spices can be found here, and the prices aren’t bad. You can get rice and several different varieties of flour at cheap prices, and there’s a large freezer section of Indian meals, desserts, etc. You can also rent Bollywood films and buy henna here.
