We parked at the parking lot across from Capital Rep Theater. The attendants approached our car. Since we thought it was valet, we went to give them the key. They explained that we needed to park the car ourselves and gave us the ticket stub. We put the stub between the two seats, not having been told that we had to display it on the dashboard. There is a small sign at the kiosk, but we were never at the kiosk(since the attendants met us in the lot) and they never told us to put it on the dashboard. Although we should have thought of it, we also thought we paid the fee and the attendants were there. When we came out, our car was gone. There were no attendants. We saw the sign-paid $ 10 to get a cab and $ 80 to get our car back. They gave us off $ 50 since we showed we had paid the fee. It felt like a total scam. Not only were we not instructed to put our ticket on the dashboard, we were never at the kiosk(where the sign is saying you should put in on the dashboard). The ticket itself does not say it has to be put there either. It felt like a set up and we had no recourse since we wanted to get our car and get home. Buyer beware before using that lot. Based on our experience, they were thieves. As a follow up, we spoke with the maiden lane supervisor, Jamie, and he told us that his staff is claiming that they told us to put the tag on the dashboard. THEYDIDNOT. They also claim that although they saw us put it in between the seats, it is not their obligation to correct it or to tell the tow people. What a set up! I have never dealt with such a system of lies. Please take note. They are crooked.

Rude, confrontational staff and psychotic management when dealing with a lost monthly parking pass, and trying to get a replacement. Felt the need to call my employer to scold me for misplacing my pass. Their lot on Broadway in Albany is a hellhole. Dimly lit, isolated and empty after the government employees leave after 5pm. Not somewhere any woman would feel safe after dark. I’ve decided that paying 3x more is worth avoiding their horrid facilities and worse staff.

Beware of the parking lot in downtown Albany. On the weekends no one is there and the credit card machine either doesn’t work at all or charges an incorrect amount. It’s a shame that they can’t seem to get ity right.

Just remember, even though there are signs that says Parking after five and on weekends– they will TOW you within 45 minutes by Dott’s Towing Company. I see it happen every night. Maiden Lane Parking is disgusting. They run a parking lot that is actually owned by Albany county on Washington Ave between Lark and Henry Johnson right in Center Square. It is disgustingly maintained– they have signs for paid parking but end up towing people all through the night when people park there. Do not park there at all! The address is 208 Washington Ave, Albany, NY In addition, there are a lot of drugs and prostitution on that lot as well. In fact, I would rather move my car every hour and a half and park in Washington Park versus paying these guys to park in their lot.

This company fails to maintain its lots. There is drinking, drug dealing, prostitution, and over-grown weeds all over. On it’s Central Ave lot, it has a giant«Pay here» sign, but the company removed the machine that generates the tickets. As a result, they tow people all through the night(courtesy of Dott’s garage) whenever there is an event on Lark st. Very shady. Avoid.
