My family has always stayed here at merry acres. Now that most of us have moved away .when we come into town we stay at merry acres it’s sort of like a tradition. This is the first time I’ve stayed in it since it has been renovated I was quite surprised of how much better it looked. There still could be a few more touches but not to where it feels as if it’s a modern day hotel. Friendly staff. As we checked out in pulled out the hit the road not even one minute since we left the front desk called. My brother had left some clothes in the closet. I was so thankful that they responded quickly because in the past with other hotels you don’t realise you blessed something until you’ve gotten back home and then it’s nearly impossible to get your item back or if you get it back at all. So just wanted to give thanks to the staff.

Has been renovated, but could use a few more upgrades… Very charming older hotel, that was renovated maybe a few years ago! Could use a few modern amenities like: new large comfy pillows, better quality of bath towels, and work to the bathtubs(to remove minor grout and stains). The bed was very comfortable and the room has a flat screen! The best part was the check-in!!! The staff was very accommodating and made sure that we received the best rate…

What a pleasant surprise! I had business in Albany and had no idea where to stay. I mentioned this to a good friend, and she said, «No question about it, you need to stay at the Merry Acres». I’m so glad that I followed her advice. My room was extremely clean and newly renovated. I loved that the floors were not carpeted; and that the bed was new. The staff were extremely friendly and genuinely concerned about my well being. I had a complimentary drink in their cozy pub where a local crowd was gathered around a fireplace. The food there was so good; I had the wicked pimento cheese. The next morning I had the complimentary warm breakfast at their event center next door. Check out was a snap. I highly recommend Merry Acres Inn for some nice local flavor.

Had to travel to Athens for business and picked this hotel based on reviews. the hotel is off the beaten track and not near the main areas of town. I had to travel about 3 – 5 miles to find decent restaurant near the mall. Did not like. Will not repeat. PROS: it is pet friendly, which is important to us. The main lobby/check-in is in main house. Newly renovated. Nice appearance for first appearance. Rooms have micro fridge. CONS: housing is in separate units. Like a motel. I do not know where the other reviewers are coming from, but the room we were first given smelled moldy in the bathroom and smelled overall in the room. We were moved a few doors down, and the new room wasnt much better. Still moldy smell in bathroom(just not as strong). Bathrooms need to be sand blasted and recaulked. Carpets could use steam clean or new carpeting. Promised breakfast. Couldnt find the unit or location for it, but i jad morning meeting, so i grabbed something on the road closer to the mall.

This is a fantastic place to stay. They will take you to and from any of their connected restaurants and even bring food from any of them to the hotel. They are very friendly. Shuttle will pick you up at any time. Highly recommended.

Completely renovated and updated, but still has old charm to it. May not look like much from outside, but all rooms come with a fridge and microwave and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Free full breakfast with the most delicious coffee I have ever had. Most certainly worth waking up early for. The breakfast buffet ladies were also super friendly. Zero complaints.

I was actually pleasantly surprised with this place. From the outside this place doesn’t look like much but on the inside it another story. Everything has been updated and the rooms are cozy and clean. They had free breakfast out early which was greatly appreciated.

Warm and welcoming front desk staff, friendly housekeepers and newly renovated. Pros: New bed, no carpeting, decent size fridge and decent rates. Free WII-Fi, can park in front of your unit, good breakfast. Cons: Smelled like new construction(bad for our allergies), SMALL bathroom, bathtub had not been renovated.(Could use some more clorax.) Towels do not absorb the water off your body and sheets could be a little more on the softer side. ***Also, if you are going to renovate, take a look at the room to make sure you do not have«old» items leftover. Keep is consistent.(Hair dryer, etc…) Will stay again since the staff was so nice.

Stayed here for close to a month, and was quite satisfied. Designed in the manner of the old motor hotels, with very nice landscaping, large rooms, very peaceful and quiet. Free full breakfast, great staff. Loved it!
