Motel 6

This place is the very worst motel I’ve ever stayed in. Cockroaches. Bedbugs. Drug dealers and screaming in the halls in the middle of the night. Police called. Door security lock that’s been ripped off and put back in place by just shoving in a couple of screws — joke, I could pull it out with one finger. Almost no toiletries. No free wifi. No breakfast. Clerk refused to take discount cards that absolutely work with Motel 6. Avoid this dump at all costs. If I could give this a zero I would have.

Ask for my money back about 45 mins after being in there due to the horrible smell of Febreeze masking the cigarette smoke in a non smoking room that I had asked for and was denied because «We used the room». Not to mention the inch thick dust on the mirror and the burn holes in the bedspread. The Indian lady said, «Sometimes bedding from smoking rooms ends up in non smoking». So I guess burn holes are okay in Motel 6 properties.
This place used to be the Ambassador Motel and should have stayed that way. AVOID this dump… rooms aren’t even worth $ 20 and the owners are greedy money pinchers that could care less about hospitality.

Disgusting. Shower had mold. Office man was rude. Don’t waste your money here. Will not be staying here ever again, I rather sleep outside in the rain, which is what I should have done.

Disgusting! Very dirty and thick mold all along the shower wall and on the shower curtain. Will never stay here again.

Stayed here after a concert at SPAC. Rented a king size room. Upon arrival there was a kitchen sized refrigerator unplugged. Thinking I would want cold water later, I plugged it in to hear a grinding and clicking noise, obviously it was broken. Okay moving beyond the fridge, I hopped into the shower after the concert to be eye to eye with a curly public hair on the shower wall. Once I got over that, I got into bed to find that the fuzzy green blanket had large holes that appeared to be slashed into the blanket. Needless to say I won’t be staying here again.

What a surprise!!! Motel 6 revamped their style.

Our hot water heater died and we needed showers. So my husband and I decided to stay in a hotel close to where we both work. I work in Albany and he works in Colonie, so this location was perfect. The lady behind the counter at check in was nice. The place has been recently renovated and it looks nice. We were the first people to stay in the room since the renovation. When we entered the room it was very modern. Platform bed, a wooden chair, lots of orange and black, flat screen TV. I was very pleased with the effort Motel 6 was making.
Then…
I only had a little bit of shampoo left and we were in a hurry because my husband had to work that night. So I ventured outside to find a vending machine with shampoo. I know that has been the case in the past when I’ve stayed at Motel 6. The only vending machine that I could see was the soda machine, so I ventured into the lobby. My husband mentioned how good the curry smelled when he was in the lobby so I was looking forward to the smell. I entered the lobby. The curry did smell good. There was a man and a woman behind the counter. I said «I’m looking for a vending machine with soap or shampoo?». The guy behind the counter said VERY angrily «Vending machine is outside!». He looked at me as though as I was a murder suspect entering a court room because I had killed his mother. That’s not me exaggerating either. I don’t think I’ve ever received such a dirty look in my life for something so minor. The lady behind the counter said something similar, at about the same time he did, but was much nicer about it. I was like «Well O-​K THEN!». I would have given this place maybe four stars because it’s nice after the remodel and the lady was nice at check in. Also after the experiences I’ve had at four separate Motel Six location that have been horrible it would have been the best experience at a Motel Six ever!
However…
After the results of the hunt for shampoo. I’m giving them two stars. One for the nice renovations and one for the hot shower. You could, in theory, stay there and not encounter the «NO SOAP FOR YOU!» guy. However, I think people should avoid the place all together and not line this guy’s pockets with money.
Which reminds me. I think I’m going to make a call to corporate headquarters.
