Stayed here with my husband, my sister, her fiancé and her dog for a 3 day weekend. Stayed at site 17. Decent amouny of space for the picnic table(provided by the campground) the campfire site that had an adjustable 2 level grill. The site was big enough for two tents and an EZ up tent. A few trees in between two othet sites that we could see. A short walking distance from the bathrooms(bring a lantern or flashlight at night! No lights in there) and across from the water pipe too. There were some awesome sites near the back that are on the river(try to get those! They were awesome) and be prepared for no cell reception until you go into town(near Loon it comes back) We were happy to see a trail in the back of the campground and across the road too. Only complaint(not the campground’s fault) were so noisy neighbors and their kids. Screaming across campsites to each other, but once 10pm came around it was silent. Oh, and be prepared to be woken up around 7−8am by some people using air compressors in their RV’s or blowing up an air mattress. We will be back! Oh, and the next site over(jimmy something) has quarter operated showers($ 2.50 for a 6 – 7 min shower) individual showers, no mirrors or sinks. Can’t wait to come back.

Eh… It is what it is. Stay at site 11 and I got here late and left early. I was 20 feet from the bathroom and with the right wind it was a little stinky. Sites seemed fairly secluded thanks to foliage — traffic from the Kanc slowed down by 9⁄10 pm and didn’t pick up until 8 am. $ 22, decent for what you get.

awesome, just what i was looking for! fairly secluded spots, big spots, flat, nice spots for tents. i stayed in # 9. not many people there middle of the week. water, toilets, a step up from out house. no shower. very quiet, except for buzzing of misquitos, Nice hike across the street. UNH trail, it is a tough, but good trail, not marked the best at the top, so watch closely.

Passaconnaway is a great(relatively) primitive campground right off the Kanc. It’s got drinking water and outhouses, but no showers, sinks, or RV hookups. It has a couple of nicely secluded spots and tends to stay pretty quiet(in part because of the lack of amenities). There’s a series of trailheads from the lot just across the street that acess some beautiful hikes, and since it’s close to the center of the Kanc you’re pretty close to whatever else you want to go see in that neck of the woods. Bring cash because it’s an «iron ranger» system(currently $ 20 per night for one car) and the firewood there is $ 6 a bundle.
