While visiting the Albany area, my fiancé and I were told to check this place out for any retro video games, I am glad we did. Upon entering the store, we were instantly greeted by the cashier, even though he was busy with other customers, he made it a point to acknowledge us and see if we needed help. We decided to look around and see what treasures they had. We were quite pleased with the selection of retro games, blu-rays, and consoles they had in stock. After visiting Jay St. Video Games in Crossgates earlier that day(which was the worst experience my fiancé and I experienced), we were pleased that Pastime Legends on Lark St. made up for the terrible experience earlier that day. As my fiancé was looking at some of the games in the cases, I decided to look around to see if they maybe had a particular game I was looking for(Alan Wake). They sadly did not, however, they had another game I had been looking for for awhile(Indigo Prophecy). Everything was easy to find and organized. The prices for their merchandise were pretty great, my fiancé and I left some goodies. Whenever I go back to Albany, I will make a point to go back to Pastime Legends and see what other goodies they have in store for me.

A great store owned by a great guy. Doesn’t carry much obscure stuff. Mostly your basic nintendo, sega, sony ect stuff. The prices are Very good for a store in the middle of albany. I went in there the other day and bought, Complete Dragon Warrior 8, Frequency and Katamari Damacy for about 10 bucks. Very fair with trades, and the 10% system discount is a awesome idea. The one downfall of Pastime, which is keeping me from giving a 5, is the fact that there’s only one register available at the store and all their price checking/store credit is handled on a shitty netbook. If you have a trade, or are buying with credit you WILL wait, and the store is often very busy because of it’s location. If they get a second register straight 5.

A great local spot with knowledgable staff and great games! Im an old-skool gamer and like hunting down those games I grew up with — they really know their stuff and usually have or can get what you’re looking for. They also have new games and decent pricing. I feel MUCH better giving my $$ to a local store than a big chain. Definitely check them out, even if youre not looking for a particular game, its fun to browse and youll probably find something you want :)

Friendly staff at both their Albany and their Scotia shop. This store is for gamers, and ran by gamers. GameStop may be «the place» for gamers, but if you are looking got a great, locally owned business with competitive pricing and a larger selection than GameStop — this is what you are looking for! I’m a bit bias because I shop here regularly because most stores do not carry the games I’m interested in(I hunt for«past generation» console games). If you are a dedicated Gamer or a Video Game collector, this store is not to be overlooked.
