This is my cleaners. Despite there being lots of choices, and thus one would expect a lot of competition, one would hope that prices for getting shirts laundered and pressed would be lower. I don’t think this place is more outrageously expensive than anyplace else. But at almost $ 3 a shirt I’m almost tempted to learn how to iron myself. Almost. But I keep coming back. I don’t shop around. Mostly because it’s a relatively convenient location. The staff is lovely. And it doesn’t look like it’s trying to be fancy. Also, when I need my shirts in a hurry, they are able to get them done to fit my schedule. Plus, I like that this place still uses those tabs that go through the buttonholes instead of writing inside the collar. I’ve always hated that. Still, if you told me of a place that could do as good of a job for a buck less, I’d switch. For that matter, if this place were a bit cheaper, I’d probably bring them more clothes to press, and think of more reasons to dress up during the week. Fortunately, the Capital Region is a pretty casual part of the world, and I’ve grown accustomed to the come-as-you-are ethos. Well, relatively accustomed to it. After eight years, I’m still surprised to see people out and about in their pajamas.
