I can’t say enough good things about this place! Great family run business. I stopped in for an eye exam and ended up getting a script for contacts and a pair of glasses as well. I stayed within my budget got and got a very nice pair of frames. The service was excellent. The staff was very warm and friendly. Just a great experience. Highly recommended.

I can’t say enough kind things about Sheehy opticians. this cute locally owned store has very friendly employees who fixed my sunglasses free of charge when every other store in town told me it could not be done. They have a wide selection of all kinds of glasses and sunglasses and seem to take a lot of different types of insurance. I will definitely be back here if I need any other repairs or if I’m shopping for something new.

I would give six stars if it were possible. My son had an emergency and needed to get a pair of glasses sent to New York City. Sheehy called my son’s optomestrist, got the prescription and ordered specialized lenses. He had the glasses a day later. A second order for sunglasses went equally well – Sheehy helped me find a style my son would like and shipped them to NYC the next day. Sheehy’s service was responsive and sympathetic. I cannot recommend an optician more highly.

I just went for a first time check up at Sheehy. I felt as if I was at home! Staff we’re very friendly. Turned out that I need glasses for reading but I was not pushed into buying one from their store. When I decide on getting glasses I will differently be going back to them.

I would like to tell you about the wonderful service I had today at Sheehy Opticians! My eye Exam was promptly at my appointment time and I walked out of the store 1hr later with my brand new prescription glasses. Yes, right out of the store! Tell me how many have walked out of «chain store optical shops» with their new glasses on the same day of your eye exam? I’d bet no one. Thank you, Mr. Matthew J. Sheehy and your excellent staff! It pays to shop locally and small businesses! Frames and lens were a great price!

I would not recommend this business. I am a former customer who moved out-​of-​town one year ago. Recently I was in town and broke my frames. I contacted this business hoping they could help me in this emergency. I understand they have laws and regulations that need to be met but good customer service should go above and beyond this. I like to support local businesuse but I would not recommend this business.

after misplacing my nearly two year old specs, i sought out a replacement pair. with an obviously outdated prescription, i aimed to get an exam and glasses in the same day. what a difficult task during the kiddie’s mid-​winter recess! doctors were almost unanimously out of the office. after calling everyone else in the book (pearle vision, america’s best, lens crafters, empire vision, target, sears — ALL OF THEM), i found sheehy. and i’m REALLY glad i did.
i secured my 5pm appointment at around noon on a wednesday. phone service was friendly and professional, and offered an unprompted confirmation regarding insurance coverage.
i arrived just two minutes early, and began to try on frames. sheehy had a surprisingly great selection — kate spade, coach, among other designer and no name brands. i was greeted shortly thereafter, and asked to complete a brief form before seeing the doctor.
the doctor was WONDERFUL! dr. coley was a witty man who made me feel welcome and comfortable. throughout the exam we chatted, discussing hobbies (a line on the form), work, etc. before i knew it i was back in the store searching for frames.
mark (one of two brother-​proprietors) was helpful, but not overbearing. knowing i was on a budget (losing $ 300+ glasses will do that to you), he steered me in the right direction. i walked out of the store paying $ 39 for frames (that i love) with scratch-​resistant lenses. NOT BAD. plus! i was able to do it all in about an hour.
besides my personal preference to support small, locally owned and operated businesses, i think sheehy is a great choice… you would too if you’re looking for an optician who is intelligent, courteous, helpful, and efficient.

Outstanding customer service! Mark was fantastic; I expressed the need to keep frame price as well as lens price down, and he was very accommodating and helpful, finding many different pairs that could have worked. I had brought a new prescription in from a national chain, and when I went to try on the new glasses, discovered that the prescription left my vision grossly under corrected. Mark was understanding and helpful, figured out what my old glasses were as a frame of reference and suggested I go ask for a recheck and offered to replace the incorrectly prescribed lenses with the newly prescribed ones. I haven’t been to an optician this considerate ever in my adult life. I look forward to bringing my husband here for an unmatched level of eye care for years to come and highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for an optician in the area.
