A nice find in the state tax building. Excellent staff who take pride in their creations. Good, inexpensive hot food. Plenty of seating. Give it a shot.

I have been going to the Teneyck for the past five years, and to be honest fo rmy work time lunch and breakfast, I wouldnt go anywhere else. The food is delicious, and although the prices have increased I think it was time they did so! In speaking with the new owner, the place is going to get a bit of a further face lift, which again justifies the price increases… why not grab lunch at a place you can get smiles, hellos, and where they remeber you by name… AND that looks great inside? As for Sherry’s comment, which I find quite offensive, when you tak eove r abusiness such as this one, having someone running it who knows what they’re doing is what makes it succeed… If you never owned a business you wouldnt know that… It’s a bit of a diner in the middle of the hussle and bustle… and I Love it!

As a California traveler in Albany, I followed the recommendation. One forgets how good hot(as in temperature) food can be. Off the grill right to your mouth. I had Western Sandwich for $ 3 — filling and a bargain. Aside from that, underneath the state’s tax building you get a lesson in tax dilemmas in the background conversations.

this is a very good place for both breakfast or lunch. for breakfast, Frankie slaves away at that grill like a madman. and yet he will Always remember that you like your egg broken or that you only want 2 pieces of bacon. The breakfast is fast and you get a lot for your buck. the lunch is just as satisfying. they have wraps that they chop up the things by hand for you as you ask for them, they have several hot dishes prepared by Butch and the crew daily(they are quite good cooks i must say) and also made to order salads. this place is a sure bet. every time.

Breakfast. Plain and simple. Cheap. Good. Honest. Wholesome. No frills. But who needs frills when you get to give your order directly to the short-order cook through a window and watch as he expertly makes your eggs? I really really want to give this place a much much higher rating. But that might imply something about the cafeteria that is not true. It is solid. Perfectly solid. And I love it. N.B. If you get the potatoes, ask the cook to put some hot sauce on them for you, because alone they are a little bit dry. And if you don’t want your toast soaked in butter, you may want to ask for it dry.
