Went there with my husband to check it out. I thoroughly enjoyed the food. While the waitress/owner may not come across upon initial meeting as perhaps the friendliest of people, she was efficient, very nice and quick to ask if we needed a refill. While we would probably not take our kids to eat in(due to it really being a bar with a few tables) will will definitely order out. The food is very excellent.

First impression… waitress was rushed and complained that people were«coming in out of the woodwork» and told us(two people) that it would be a few minutes because she had a large table on the patio. There were perhaps 6 – 10 people out there. We did not feel welcomed. The tables and seating inside was fine enough for a bar/eatery. Table wobbles because the concrete floor is uneven. We ordered the deluxe cheeseburger platter($ 6.95) and waited 30 minutes for our food. What came out looked nice but the fries were cold and how could two orders exactly the same come out with one burger well done and one undercooked and dripping. The only other table(the people on the patio) also had do etching to complain about because one of the guys came in and was speaking to the waitress and she kept apologizing. The waitress was harried and clearly tired. I felt bad for her. There are a few cat things around on the mantle and wall near the bar but I didn’t get the feel of a place called«The Cat’s Meow» Sit in upper level if you don’t want your table to wobble. They didn’t play music while we were there for lunch so it was nice to be able to have a conversation without having to talk loudly. The flip side of that is that we heard everyone’s conversation at the bar. I tried to use the salt shaker but all the holes were plugged up. The flip top of the ketchup bottle was also completely covered with ketchup. Waitress never checked on us after dropping off our food until she was packing up to leave fifteen minutes later and then she was just asking if we wanted anything else. Never ever asked how the food was. After I bitched when the bill came, they adjusted two bucks to correct the charge as I did not feel we should have to pay for deluxe when the fries were inedible. Bottom line: we drove by it for years and always said«we should stop and try it out sometime.» Well, we stopped and tried it out. Now we know. I doubt we will ever stop by again. Just was not the cat’s meow to us.

I have worked down the street from the Cat’s Meow for several years but never went. Yesterday I and two coworkers decided to give it a try. I am glad we did. We each ordered different things off the menu and each of us loved what we got. I had a cheeseburger and it was the best tasting cheeseburger I have gotten served in a long time. There was so much food on all our plates none of us could finish. Yes the restaurant is old, and yes outdated, but we were told they had plans in the works so I look forward to see what comes in the future. For now, it reminds me of the sort of restaurant you might find by a lake somewhere. Small, old, but so GOOD !

Don’t let the outside dissuade you from going inside! We’ve never been to the Cat’s Meow, but work nearby and decided to give it a try. Another reviewer mentioned that although it looks like there is never anyone there, there is actually a parking lot around the back(really the front) of the building. Sure enough, when we pulled up, there were several patrons parked out of view from the street. When you enter it feels like you’re walking into someone living room(sliding glass door and all!) but you enter into a raised dining area that is outdated but VERY clean. Our waitress(the owner Sharon) explained that they are working slowly but surely to make improvements to the inside of the restaurant. But if you ask us, the old charm of the place is part of the experience! I ordered the iced tea(tasted like fresh brewed) and the other two diners ordered sodas. Sharon was quick to refill our drinks, and very attentive with her service(great for a quick office lunch break!) The crab bisque was to die for, and all the entrees were served with a heaping portion of shoestring fries cooked to perfection. I couldn’t finish my huge grilled Reuben, and the diner that ordered chicken tenders had enough to take home for another meal. Their cheeseburger was, as our other diner commented, «the best cheeseburger I’ve ever had!» They fried the onions to a golden crisp, and the bun was buttered and toasted. These little homemade touches are what sets the Cat’s Meow apart from other restaurants. You can be sure we’ll order lunch for take-out/local delivery, and will be taking advantage of their take out meals for 4 — at $ 20.00, you can’t beat it! Old time charm and great food will make us regular customers of this timeless eatery.

Ordered take-out chicken parm from The Cat’s Meow in Guidlerland and for $ 20 our family got chicken parm, a generous portion of spaghetti, a great side salad, and bread. We loved the meal and thought it was delicious(everyone thought it was even better than Tesoro’s take-out)! Would definitely recommend The Cat’s Meow.

It looks like a ranch house and you eat in the living room. The nachos I ordered were like what you’d make at home in a microwave — tostitos with shredded cheese melted. The table was so small for 3 of us that they served the pizza on a chair. Also, there really are cats! Not inside. But the waitress walked out the patio door(yes it IS like a real house) and fed the cat. Just a little odd and not as sanitary as I’d like.

SUMMARY Homey pub with friendly service and a GREATBLT. THEBLT The BLT was stacked high with deliciously fresh and thick-cut tomatoes, green leaf lettuce, and just the right amount of bacon. I must say that I have had many BLTs and been disappointed because they lack lettuce and tomato. I love bacon, don’t get me wrong, and if bacon not prominent, I will be disappointed. But this one was VERY generous with the tomato, and not to the extent that the bacon was overwhelmed. The bread was mediocre — it could have been a bit more substantial, although it was toasted, which was a plus. Overall the sandwich is highly recommended. It was accompanied by a small pasta salad, which was yummy and home made. Crinkle chips were also served and just what you’d expect.
