I had a bit of an emergency and Dustin came quickly. He gave me a fast and fair quote. We scheduled the work. A very professional crew showed up on time, got the job done in the time promised. They even cleaned up after them selves. I would recommend Wagoner Construction to anyone needing a construction job big or small.

The job was to provide a functional domestic kitchen that would pass building inspections. I was made to believe they had the experience & licenses to complete this job yet they failed, and here’s the story. It was a job that entailed turning a studio apartment into a domestic kitchen, decommissioning the house kitchen and installing a door in the master bedroom to connect the new kitchen/old studio to the main house. I was told the job would take 2 weeks, 3 weeks at the most. They, a team of 2, were terminated at the end of the third week due to poor craftsmanship, lack of detail and inferior professionalism. The first few days of the job went fairly smooth and they seemed to be motivated and ahead of schedule. By the third day they rapidly lost motivation and minimal attention to detail was discovered. We were told their working hours were from 7am — 330pm yet on Feb 6& Feb 13 they showed up to work from the hours of 145−230pm only. Feb 16 they did not show up at all nor communicate with the owners of the property. Feb 19 and 20th, the last days of the job, they didn’t show up until 1145 and were gone by 2pm. Three days in a row one of the contractors rig’s leaked oil on our property. The first day he noticed that he was leaking oil and dug into the owner’s property until he found a piece of cardboard to put under his rig, which he then left behind for the owner to clean up after he was finished for the day. While it was bad enough that he was nosing around in our property, he ruined something that was not his to ruin and then left it for us to take care of in the end. When he was warned not to take and use our property for his problem, he instead leaked his oil on our driveway and did not clean it up when he left for the day. On the third day he was warned not to bring his rig onto our property if he could not get his issue under control, at which point his truck broke down and we did not see the contractor for nearly 3 working days, without communication. Trash was left everywhere in their wake. The master bedroom closet, where they had to access the attic, was peppered with debris. The deck was littered with screws and nails, bales of insulation were left on the balcony. We had to dispose of cabinets the bid suggested were being dealt with when by the middle of the second week they still had not been taken away. When the main kitchen was taken apart, 2 inch nails were left sticking up out of the floor after they left for the day. They built a cabinet above the microwave, the cabinet door scrapes the top of the microwave when it opens. The trim on one of the cabinets is also dented. They cracked the trim in the closet door, causing a rip 4 inches long. They built a cabinet around the dishwasher, 2 of the 3 drawers match, the third does not match. After failing the plumbing inspection, I finally learned they were really not licensed to do plumbing work. The trap on the sink was too high causing standing water to sit in the sinks. The hole(2 holes in the end) they made into the wall for the drain to go through was also too high creating an uphill battle for the draining sink water, and the pipes were tacky, being both black and white. In the end, Stutzman Services were hired to fix what Wagoner did wrong. The mechanical failed due to the duct work being flexible while it needed to be ridged. When Dustin came back to «fix» this part of the failed inspection, and he only fixed what could be seen-which was the part above the range. He did not climb up into the attic to fix the whole duct which was required when I failed the first inspection. Hendrix heating had to be hired to replace the 3 foot length of incorrect ducting used in the attic. The building inspector at this point suggested not only we seek other services, but also suggested reporting Wagoner Construction to the Contractors Board for doing work he was not licensed to do. Dustin tried to fix what he flubbed up, yet in the end, when it was not acceptable(made even worse according to the inspector), he refused to reimburse me. As far as details goes: –the doorway trim that they installed was not patched –the wood flooring was scratched –a screen door was installed but had to be redrilled 2 different times –brick entryway completely stained and mucked up, –the original doorway trim was uneven and brick-a-brack. the length piece was banged into place and was at least 2 different pieces shoved together. –when rescrewing in light plates, they were screwed so tightly that they cracked –paint well on window seal, more than an inch in places –the worse is the tile job, which is so uneven that it’s like standing on the ocean. The grout has already began to crack after less than 2 weeks. After all was said and done, I had to hire not only Wagoner, but Hendrix and Stutzman had to be hired to undo what Wagoner had erroneously done. And the building inspector had to make a total of 5 trips out before I was finally legally permitted.
