This place is a little gem. A few colleagues recommended Off The Square saying that the service was good and the pork chops were amazing and so fresh. I took their advice and went for lunch and ordered the quiche. It’s the best I’ve ever had, light and fluffy. So good I went back the same day for dinner. Service was very small town, meaning warm and inviting. It felt like a place anyone can feel welcome and comfortable. I’ll definitely be back and recommend this restaurant to my friends.

Quaint little place in downtown Albemarle to eat. Variety of dishes to order from. Sometimes takes a while. Great food. Original. Good drinks. A tad pricey, but worth it. Has a great atmosphere.

What a great little restaurant. Nice dining room designed with a mix of French and Italian décor and old wood furnishings. Very good menu selection, small size but good craft beer offerings and a fair wine list. The grouper special was excellent and the crab cake was tasty and tangy. My son devoured the chicken which was good but hey, he devours everything now. We did find a small spider in the salad, but they are fresh farm so just need a little better washing produce, which they agreed was due. Service was very good and helpful. Will come back if ever in Albemarle at dinner time.

Boòooooooooo! This is the most overrated restaurant in the world. The sald is horrible. I wouldn’t feed this to my dog!

This is the most energetic and pleasurable place to eat on any night of the week. The food is lovely, the chatter of the guests is electric and the«French 77» is memorable.

Great food and service. We enjoyed a BLT, burger, BBQ sandwich, shrimp bisque and french onion soup(which should have had much more cheese). All tasted great. We’ll be back!

Nice décor. Friendly, knowledgeable waitress. Quality draft beer selection, although a beer special would have been nice. Ordered the spinach and artichoke dip which was tasty but not really enough to share. Wife ordered shrimp and grits, I had the roast beef. Unfortunately, both meals were under seasoned and bland. Probably why we were the youngest people in the restaurant. Good that Albemarle has more than one non– fast food choice, just wish it was better.

Passing through from Charlotte to Fayetteville. 3 of us ate dinner-Brisket, Ribeye, and Pasta. All 3 of us cleaned our plate! Homemade mashed potatoes to perfection. We ordered dessert. I got the daily cupcake-vanilla with strawberry compote. That alone is worth a drive back! Nice atmosphere and great service. Highly recommend!

First stop. Read the other reviews before trying. Everything we had was excellent, especially the OBX Shrimp Bites

Second time for lunch after a Morrow Mountain hike and it was superb again. Had the OTS burger, with Red Dragon cheese instead of Swiss – you have to try this Welsh beer/mustard cheese! Wife had a wonderful fried chicken sandwich with house made pimiento cheese and spicy aioli sauce. Fresh fruit sides tasty. We live an hour away so may never try dinner, too bad for us.

When I visit my parents in Albemarle, this is the only restaurant that comes close to the dining I’m accustomed to in Chicago. They have a very nice selection of local beers on draft, a respectable wine list and surprisingly tasty coffee. Their desserts, especially the key lime pie, are fantastic. I cannot speak for their brunch, but their entrees are consistently delicious.

Never been to Albemarle before but after a good day hiking and before a drive-in movie, this place hit the spot. Delicious apps(got the brie), service great, and the meal tasted like mom’s old home cooked dishes.(Champagne cream sauce on herb chicken with mashed potatoes & spinach). Had brews from Triple C too as an added bonus…

Best shrimp bisque I’ve ever had! Cold plate was very fresh and yummy and so much food I had to take some home. My friend loved her grilled veggie sandwich. Charming place with loads of character, friendly staff and fast service. Will definitely return next time I’m in town!

I had heard nothing but good things about this place, especially that their brunch was phenomenal. I ordered the OTS Bird’s Nest Eggs. The menu said nothing about the entrée coming with a side, so I quickly chose bacon. I got four strips, which was a nice surprise. But, I would’ve liked a bread side, too. Nothing fancy, just some toast and jam would’ve been nice. My meal was pretty good; however, it’s really something I can make at home for myself. Ultimately, I was disappointed in the limited selection of breakfast dishes they offered. Service was prompt and friendly, then again, the restaurant wasn’t even half full. My three stars are somewhat reluctant. I’ll come back to try their dinner fare, but I’m not expecting too much at this point.

We were traveling through town and starving. My friend and I stopped in to grab a bite. The adorable setting inside, no chair matches, we were hooked. We each had the daily quiche(today was 3 cheese) with pasta salad. It. Was. Amazing. We both ate every bite on our plate. It was so quaint and cute and would recommend it to anyone! I wish it was closer to me!

Inconsistent experience. We just finished dinner and although many of the dishes we ordered were very good, my husbands steak was full of pepper and the grit cake cold. He ordered a plain steak no pepper and one would assume the cheese grit cake would be hot. My salmon was fantastic. But when we commented on my husbands meal we did not get a feel that they really cared if we liked the meal or not. We were customers that generally restaurants love — wine, appetizer, main meal and dessert. Not so much with this place. Very disappointed because we have eaten there many times. I hope it was just a bad night.

We stopped here on our way to visit Stony Mountain Vineyards(thanks, Unilocal, for the suggestion!). It was pretty empty when we got there, but we got to pick our own table and the place was really cute inside! We all tried their sammies — one steak sandwich, one chicken panini, and 2 grilled chicken. Everyone loved their food — it was all made to order and came out hot and fresh. It did take a while to come out, since they’re making it to order, so don’t go in a hurry! Our waitress checked on us just enough and made sure our drinks were full(someone even stopped to pick up our straw wrappers, impressive). If I’m going through Albemarle again, I’ll definitely stop back by!

So glad to see a place like this in a small town, my home town, Albemarle. Every time that I come to town I normally have to settle for a chain to eat at so when I saw this place on Unilocal I was stoked! The décor is quaint and cozy with a mix of wood chairs and tables and a 5 seat bar towards the back. The metal looking old ceiling was a nice touch. The food was pretty good as well. Specifically I like the salmon appetizer. I also had a salad with ribeye steak on top and it was fine but nothing that blew my socks off. All was good though. I think my favorite thing about this place was that they actually have craft beer. Trust me, that is rare for this town. This will be my new spot for a place to eat while visiting family.
