Stopped on our way home from the Cities!
Parking lot was empty so we were a little skeptical!
Not anymore! The food was well worth the price, service was outstanding! We will be back!

Tried the Albertville location, it was ok but not near as good

We stopped by just at closing time, but were welcomed by friendly host and wait staff. My pulled pork sandwich was very good and I’m glad I took the server’s recommendation on the beans and Coke slaw (Thanks, Maiya!). Both were delicious! (And I’m picky about my BBQ sides.)
My husband had baby back ribs and jojos. The ribs were perfect. They had good char/​bark on the outside and a smoky red on the inside — just like they should be! We both enjoyed the wide variety of sauces — from sissy boy sweet to bad boy hot.
Not only did we have a great meal and service, but our bill was only $ 28. We’ll be back next time we’re in Albertville!

Worst food I have ever got at a restaurant. My mom and I had the shredded pork plate. I’ve had shredded pork at a lot of places and usually love it. This was by far the worst. Could not eat anymore after the first bite. I had no idea you could make bad pulled pork. Really weird flavor, foul smell and just plain horrible! My brother had the baby back ribs which were completely black on the outside and undercooked on the inside. Never returning. We should have known considering we were the ONLY people in there. Don’t make the same mistake we did by going there!

Our first time here! It took the waiter 10 minutes to get our order but once we got the food it was amazing!
Overall great food, not expensive!

My husband and I were staying in a nearby hotel and were too tired to look very far for food so we decided to try John Hardy’s. We were seated immediately, as the place wasn’t very busy. The atmosphere was fun and the menu had plenty of options.
We ordered the loaded Jojos as an appetizer and both loved them. He got the bacon cheeseburger with fries for his meal and I ordered turkey with sweet potato tater tots and black eyed peas. He loved his entire meal and ate the entire thing, even when he said he was on the verge of getting uncomfortably full (that’s saying quite a bit for this picky eater). My turkey and sweet potato tots were awesome, but I didn’t care for the black eyed peas. I attribute this to a wrong selection on my part, because I would have probably liked other sides better.
Our waitress was very friendly. Not the begging-​for-​tips friendly, but genuinely friendly. We had quite a bit of chit chat with her and she was very attentive.
The price was very reasonable. We were shocked at how much food we ended up taking home and how small our bill was in comparison.
If we are ever in the area again, we will stop by for sure.

Unless you haven’t eaten in weeks and this is the only place open don’t go here. I give the service and atmosphere here about a C-​. The food… that’s in a whole different league (and not a good one). I barely choked down my ribs because they tasted so much like hydrocarbons. If you want the real recipe of John Hardy’s so you can make it at home, here it is: (1) douse a cow/​pig/​chicken in gasoline, (2) light cow/​pig/​chicken with a match, (3) cook for 20 minutes (add more gasoline if necessary), and (4) eat. Add lots of sauce because that is the only way you’ll hide the taste of your local gas station. Truly a foul experience — never again!

First time eating there tonight. Service was fast and super friendly. We had burgers bithw were amazing! My daughter had the kids corn dogs, she loved it. 2 for 1 beers and drinks all day everyday. Great new place in Albertville

The BBQ ribs are good, but the sides are just plain awful!
Either buy your sides somewhere else or just make your own sides.

How this place shows almost 4 stars is beyond me. Unilocal is selling out to the businesses? Most of the reviews are one star (or don’t they count them because they are not «recommended»)?
It actually deserves the one star because there was an attempt at good flavors. Unfortunately, they need to change some things. I ordered the Early Rise burger. Everything was good but the burger itself. It was a frozen, weird shaped, nasty tasting thing. I don’t know if there was actually any beef in it. The waitress asked me how the food was and she said she’s heard the same comments before. You would think they would fix it if everyone is complaining about the same thing. Or maybe let the staff warn the customers about the nasty burgers when they order them. The sweet potato tater tots were ok, but fell short on flavor as well. A little salt, or better yet a little drizzle of cinnamon & sugar, would go a long way.
Now onto the lack of service. Waited and waited for someone to seat me. It wasn’t busy. One waitress for the whole place. Really? It’s lunch time.

Fast & friendly service, great food! Nice specials. Love the sweet flavor of the shredded pork whether its on nachos or a bun. The Jo Jos however were a surprise because the are «sliced fried potatoes». It is behind the mall and worth finding. Enjoy.

40 minutes to get our food. Service was lackluster at best. About 15 to 20 minutes after placing the order they came out to tell me they didn’t have chicken so ended up ordering the beef. Tough and no flavor.
So wanted to be impressed, but that didn’t happen. This was our second time there. Will not return for a third.

After eating at Jamama’s in Monticello, im downgrading this restaurant to 3 stars!
I was thinking this was a small, strip mall place but was happy to find that it’s a stand alone restaurant. Unfortunately for them, they are so hidden behind the outlet mall, if you didn’t know they were there, would never see them. The actual restaurant is a nice size and pleasantly decorated to the BBQ theme.
Our server was pleasant and very attentive. Food took a little too long to come out, but to be fair, we arrived at 1 on a Sat. so I can’t complain because we were after the lunch rush. The menu looked good. I had the pulled pork plate. I found the pulled pork to be almost ground up to the point of looking like cat food. It’s served with no bun. It was tasty but did have a weird consistency. The cornbread was moist and tasty. Coleslaw was a very generic slaw with what I can only describe as a premade sauce added to cabbage. The kind I can buy at the grocery store. Not restaurant made. I still liked it, the hubs did not. Sauce is described in another review as a vinegar-​based sauce rather than a sweet sauce. I think that is spot on. I wasn’t prepared for it. It’s good but I still think I prefer the brown sugar, molasses based sauce. Really it’s just my preference.

Food was great! I mean everything we got was great! Even the cornbread was moist! I would give 5 stars but we thought it lacked the BBQ atmosphere a little. Kinda resembled the old Perkins, but who cares the ribs were pretty dang good! Prices were legit also.

The restaurant is hidden back behind the Albertville Outlet Mall which may explain why there were so many empty seats at lunch time. The server was very pleasant and helpful with the menu and special. My son had baby back ribs and I had the small meat plate special with pulled pork. The smoke flavor is on point; not overbearing. The meat was moist and tender. The sauces are very sweet; tasting a little like pickles. I’d like to see some other options to enhance the meat. I’d return (maybe sneak in some other sauce) ;-)

The waitress came by immediately and asked if we wanted something for our 2 young children to eat right away! This is paramount in order to keep containment, as you know if you have kids if they are going crazy it is impossible to enjoy your meal. The food: My brisket was very tasty, good smoke ring and the plethora of sauces was great. I like spicy and found their hot to be very tasty without being painful. I will definitely return. My wife had one of their signature sandwiches and loved it.

What restaurant doesn’t have juice options for children? My 4 year old likes orange juice, but you don’t even have that. Please consider adding juices to your menu.
The «Vegetables» selection is also pretty meager. That said, this place has decent food, but seems to lack variety.

Took my grams here for dinner… she loved the cole slaw and ribs… had the burger with a egg thought it was great! Staff was very nice! For sure come back.

Fried pickles were good, chicken wings with the hotter sauce was amazing… May come back for just the wings, corn bread was moist, spare ribs were good. Hubby liked the brisket and had the baby back ribs that were falling off the bone. Meat was perfectly smokey (it is a bbq place after all) but be warned that the jojos are similar to Buffalo Wild Wings buffalo chips and not so much jojos. This place is also decently priced and the food was good! Overall I was impressed and will be going back

We were excited to try this new establishment. What a complete disappointment and waste of money. Ordered a full slab of ribs, whole chicken and sides of baked beans and green beans. The ribs were just OK but way over smoked. The chicken was also very smokey and as we got into it it was under cooked and bloody. The sides were so small we just had to laugh. They were less than two table spoons and in containers smaller than the BBQ sauce containers! They were also nasty.
