Very very good. Friday night and we got a table right away. Good specials. Was in Albion for a wake and glad we found this. Will take a ride from Rochester to eat here again. Looks like a nice bar also.

I was hoping for a beef on wick since I’m visiting, but not on the menu today so I got the fish and chips. Everything hot and tasty. Crispy fries and fish. Sweet cole slaw that isn’t drowning in dressing and a tarter sauce with dill. Prompt and friendly service. All that and an IPA on draft. All good.

This was the first day of their new menu and I went in for lunch. They are offering some different burgers than you will find in other bar food restaurants. I ordered the beer battered burger with IPA cheese sauce. It was actually very good. I will definitely be back to try out the other offerings. The only thing I was missing was pickle spear on the side. If you have an adventurous appetite you should check this place out.

Fantastic service and food! A true hidden gem that was a club in Albion when my dad was growing up. I will be having my rehersal dinner here!

I have been there 3 times now and i have yet to be disappointed. The portions are huge, the food is excellent and prepared in a timely manner. The price is good too, I feel like I got every penny out of my meal. This place is a little gem and I would highly recommend it for anyone.

Great ambience(we sat upstairs), great wait staff, and great food. I had the filet with squash and veggies — definitely would recommend it! Hubby had Pot Roast, he loved it! The kids(2&5) enjoyed their Mac and cheese(NOT Kraft)! If we lived in the area, we’d frequent this place! Two thumbs up!

This place is awesome. Great ambience, attentive staff, very nice owners and an extensive and delicious menu. I found this on Unilocal while in Albion for the evening. I have no idea what restaurant the one negative reviewer was referring to — but it couldn’t have been the Crooked Door. I wish this place was closer to where I live. I could see going here a lot — as in at least once a week. The menu was so extensive it took a while to decide what to get — but our entire group(5 adults and 2 kids) all had a great meal and experience. This place deserves more than 5 stars. I will be back and I strongly recommend that you go out of your way to find the Crooked Door. You won’t be disappointed.

Great food with friendly service. Kids menu includes home made Mac & cheese not the box junk!

Last nights dinner was fantastic. We were a party of 8 and everyone loved their appetizers and dinners. The calamari was so tender that it melted in your mouth. The service was outstanding. This is a definite return spot. Highly recommended

Atmosphere was very nice. Owner, Joe, was a pleasure to speak with and makes you feel right at home. Food was was excellent and was a very large portion. Don’t get me wrong we finished it but we were stuffed. Burgers were great. Julia our server was extremely pleasant, friendly and quick. If you find yourself in Albion you should definitely stop here. And if you’re here in the summer take advantage of using the bike path and stop in for lunch.

A charming pub located on the banks of the Erie Canal, The Crooked Door Tavern has exceptional service and the food was delicious. My sister had the curried butternut squash soup and I opted for the New England clam chowder that was chock full of clams, handcut red potato chunks and some corn to boot. Then we split a BLT on Cibatta bread with plenty of crisp bacon and fresh tomatoes and lettuce. We both liked the pesto mayo spread. Dessert was required on our autumn afternoon ride from Buffalo so she ordered the peanut butter chocolate pie which she said was«really rich» and I had some moist and tasty carrot cake. I highly recommend this restaurant for lunch. We were treated to watching a barge pushed down the canal by a small tugboat as well.

Est, est, est. Great place for refreshments and food as a happy interlude during a bike ride on the canal trail. Friendly atmosphere in this family owned historic site. The food is above average in what is to be expected in a tavern, though there is a great dining area facing the canal. To be exact there are steaks and chops, though we both tried and liked the fish-fry. The service was very friendly and personal. My wife and I look forward to an evening dinner this fall. We do recommend this restaurant/tavern. Check out the menu online before committing so that you know what to expect,

First review ever! Newly remodeled in 2011. Stopped in while biking on Erie Canal for lunch. My husband had a chicken wrap, best ever he claimed. I had the Asian Salad with chicken. It was terrific! We ate in the bar, raised booth and family sports bar like atmosphere was very nice. Service was prompt and waitress personable. There is also a seating area in back, more restaurant looking but also nice overlooking Erie Canal. We definitely recommend this place.

In Orleans County, New York— this is the best restaurant you will find. I’m originally from Lyndonville, NY and moved to the Greater Boston Area about five years ago. Whenever I am visiting my parents, we go here because it really is the best within an hour. It truly on par with what you will find in «cities» and it’s priced for the area. I can imagine locals being taken back by the uniqueness and flair of their menu at first(i.e. where are the chicken fingers), but give it a try and I know you won’t be disappointed. If you are visiting from out of town, you need to try this place. It is completely off the beaten path. It’s at the end of a residential area and I was convinced I was lost when I was driving my mother there. She assured me we were in the correct place. Don’t judge it by the outside because one you go in you are in a cozy bar with dark wood and lofted booths. The waitstaff was friendly and knowledgeable and the food was really good, not the best I’ve ever had but seriously the best you will find in Orleans County.

Slightly above an average bar. However, in a town with few options it is one of the nicer establishments. The Owner, Dave, is a nice guy with some unique twists on has favorite sandwiches. The wings are solid. The Crooked Door Burger was respectable. We will return on the next fishing trip to Oak Orchard.

I was in town visiting with friends and the Mom that lives there part time took us here for dinner. I wasn’t expecting very much as it is a small town and thought Ok, Pub food. SHOCKED! A beautiful older building and a great atmosphere. The bar was hopping, but we took a seat in the dining room as we had a underage guest with us. The menu was very diverse and I had the Potato Leek soup and shared the crab cakes with my friend. It was great and the owner checked on us twice too. I tried the fish fry one of my other friends ordered and it was also great! I had a NY Riesling with dinner and I just love Riesling from that area. I would definitely go back to this restaurant if I have a reason to!

I’ve had three meals at this restaurant. None have disappointed me. It was very busy and the wait staff was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Can’t wait to go back and try the lobster mac and cheese!

Disclaimer: This business is owned by my husband’s cousin, whom we see once a year when we visit the area. Having heard about the Crooked Door during the months and months of renovations from my in-laws, and having toured the facility in the middle of said renovations, I was excited to see the space completed. Had you seen the space before and after, it would be just as evident to you that Joe loves refurbishing old buildings. The space looks great, and includes a dining room, bar area, and offices upstairs. Since we had the little one with us, we opted for lunch instead of dinner. We sat at the large short table in the bar area, with the wall seating made of a church pew. At our table, we got the french onion soup, the roasted red pepper soup, the beef on weck, the fish and chips, the bruschetta, and the cream cheese and cucumber sandwich. The soups were the best — very flavorful. Both were had just a hint of sweetness. The bruschetta is warm on crispy toast rounds with tomato, onion, garlic, and balsamic reduction. One serving has about a dozen rounds, so it’s good for sharing. The fish and chips comes with coleslaw and tartar sauce. The fish had a medium batter, which held up well to the vinegar that I prefer to tartar sauce. The fries were well executed — crisp and salty. The cole slaw appeared to be hand cut. The dressing was watery and slightly sweet. I’m not much of a cole slaw fan to begin with, and this didn’t change my mind. I’m not sure whether I prefer the fish fry here or at the Black North. Guess I’ll just have to try both again. I didn’t taste the beef on weck, but J said that it was less salty than most versions, but a little on the dry side. I did try the spinach that he had on the side. It tasted as if they’d started with frozen spinach and dressed it up with lots of garlic. I’m looking forward to trying more dishes in the future. It’s nice to have another restaurant to eat at in the area(as opposed to fast food). #Yelp365 — 196⁄365
