We purchased a Unilocal special and got $ 40 in credit for $ 20. My son and I went shooting and shot his new hunting rifle and our family shotgun. I was a little bugged because they told us we had to use the whole amount that day. And we could not use it on ammunition. So we paid $ 20 for $ 30. Aside from that it was a fine experience and we had fun and learned a lot.

My fiancée brought me here to shoot for the first time. It’s an excellent place to go for someone who’s never even held a gun before. They have great rentals and clean facility. Their staff is both friendly and knowledgeable. They currently have only one bolt action rifle to rent and really wish they had a larger selection of those. Otherwise, highly recommend

Being from out of town you never know what to expect in terms of customer service, you hope for the best and prepare for the worse. Well these guys were PHENOMENAL! The entire staff was knowledgeable and kind and made this a truly wonderful experience. My experience was great, the variety of firearms available was extensive, and the prices were beyond reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place to both locals and visitors alike. Thanks Caliber for making my weekend, and my trip to New Mexico one to remember! Elisa(cleveland, ohio)

Great on-site Gunsmithing! I brought in my Smith and Wesson M&P 9 mm in today after I made the mistake of replacing the slide without the guide spring. The Gunsmith on staff was able to remove the barrel that was stuck under the take down lever, and replace the spring. When I went in there the gun was locked up tight and after 10 minutes I was walking out the door. The smith didn’t even charge me. Great all around experience, highly recommended, and they have a customer for life!

Completely rude and dismissive staff that where unwilling to give any help and over priced inventory, honestly the only redeeming feature is their indoor shooting range.

Welcome to the Priciest Gun Store and Range in New Mexico. Ammo more expensive than anyone in town. Your better off at Walmart, Dicks Sporting Goods or Sportsman’s Warehouse. Staff often knowledgeable but a take it or leave it attitude. Great selection of Weapons tho there stance on open carry leaves much to be desired considering they are a gun dealer. There Cutler location, is the better of the two with a fly fishing store and eatery next door. There west side campus will soon have an indoor range. There are many better places to buy a gun/rifle around town where people take the time to understand you and even get to know you. These folks are very transactional.

Just went here for the first time. Great store and range! The people were super nice and very helpful. The range rules were spot on, totally reasonable. Range fees were also reasonable. I worry about getting shafted on ammo at ranges, but Calibers seems to be in line with other places in town. Only bummer is that they had no 10 mm in stock. On the plus side, if you have always wanted to pre tent to be Rambo, and you have a couple hundred dollars to spend, then you can come here, rant one of several full-auto weapons, and blow off some serious ammo. You have to buy their ammo, of course, but that’s no different than anywhere. In fact, you can try out a wide array of guns in case you are in the market or just want to try something different. Any, best of all, they have a Unilocal offer where you basically get $ 20 off your fees! How cool is that?!?

Great facility with great staff. The range is clean and well ventillated. I took a defensive shooting class, and I’ll be taking additional classes as they become available. Jimmy and Daniel are both great instructors, and I’d highly recommend any course or lessons you could get with either of them. I think their prices are fair, and are lower than some of the other LGS’ I’ve visited in NM.

My boyfriend and I were in the Albuquerque area vacationing and we had a few hours to kill before our dinner reservation. We drove past Calibers and decided to give them a call on the off chance they might have a lesson available in that time frame. We were very pleased to find that they were able to fit us into the schedule for a private lesson on such short notice. Our instructor, Jordan, was great. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the subject. We really appreciated his practical application and strong emphasis on safety. Would definitely give Jordan 5 stars for his instruction. Gave 4 stars for Calibers as a business because we only went there once and it was pretty crowded.

Since my last review I have been to the range several times and talked to various staff and had a private lesson with Lindsey, and ended up purchasing a membership. All of my experiences have been superb and I was treated with respect by courteous and knowledgeable staff. I couldn’t be more pleased with all of my interactions with the Calibers team and look forward to more training and range time.

A great store and shooting range. Very convenient location for me at I-25& Paeso. Now that that store is closed, I will not be a customer anymore. Ray M.

Very nice range and gun shop. Kudos to Jordan and Lindsey! These are two very knowledgeable and experienced instructors and their accuracy is amazing! If you need a CC permit or some one on one instruction they are the one to count on!

Here for a self-defense class. Instructors were great! Funny, helpful and on point with the instruction. I would definitely take another class here. The classrooms are large enough for 20 or so people, but the chairs are a bit uncomfortable. There is a «student» lounge with a soda machine and coffee pot, but no fridge or microwave. Bathrooms are clean. It’s nice to have a Daily Grind next door for coffee and lunch.

This is only my second time shooting and I’m already addicted! We haven’t purchased anything but ear protection and targets from Calibers but their sales staff is always friendly and attentive. The range is always clean, people are friendly. What more can you ask for?!

So, my brother comes for a visit. He loves to shoot guns. I grew up with a gun toting family, so I say, «Sure, lets go do some target practice!» This newest Calibers opened a while ago, but the facility itself is really nice. We went in, got all set up, got shooting glasses, ear protection, a couple of targets and a lane. The people behind the counter were great. It was busy, but still the staff seemed pretty easy going and were having a good day. We get on our lane, apparently a kid(teenager) had gotten a freaking submachine gun/uzi for his birthday, and was there with his dad. Nice family time… but jeez, LOUD. So, I know I have ear protection, but it was seriously loud and reverberating off the walls, easily 10x louder than any of the handguns, because he was shooting bursts of 50 rounds. I looked at my brother and was like, «seriously, no.» I go back to the counter and they move us to another lane on the other side. We can now have a conversation and we are happily talking and taking turns killing our target, when who changes side? That damn kid! We had been at it for about an hour at that time, so we were basically done. And, we left. I know guns are loud, I know, I know, but maybe if there was only one side that semi automatic weapons could fire, then the other side could be reserved for the single round weapons. Because, I could not hear myself think, focus, or even care about shooting with that Uzi going off next to me. It totally distracted from the entire experience and lost a star for Calibers.

Great pistol range, from what I can tell, but they don’t like high-powered rifles or shotguns. Wasn’t too pleased that they don’t offer shotgun lanes; I wanted to try out my shotgun in a more home-defense setting, but they’d not allow it in the range on the off chance I had slugs in my ammo bag. Apparently, the short-length of this range makes it optimal for pistols and assault rifles, but not high-power rifles or slug-guns. Other than that, they do have a large selection of guns for rent if you really want to try out that fully-automatic UZI of your dreams, and will also do FFL. They offer an annual membership, otherwise, its about $ 20 a day.

This is the new Caliber’s location as there is also another shooting range up by Paseo Del Norte. I have been looking to purchase a firearm but haven’t shot a pistol in years and have never owned one of my own so I decided to purchase entrance to firearms introductory class here. The price was reasonable enough at $ 50 and I wanted to make sure I became familiar with guns from a safety standpoint as I eventually plan to keep one in my home. The course was four hours long and really could have been a quarter of that time, but it was still informative. I learned the basic rules of safety, how to handle and load a gun, clean one and things like that. Ideally, I would’ve purchased a gun on the spot so as to put to practice what I’ve learned, but guns are pricey(as well they should be). At this location, there are a remarkable amount of guns on sale, from revolvers and semiautomatic handguns, to shotugns, bows, and even some high-powered rifles of the military variety(or so they look!). It can all be a bit disconcerting and nerve-racking to a newbie to the gun culture such as myself, but my trainer was especially kind and didn’t treat me like a complete buffoon for my ignorance. Here there is also a shooting range, with what I’d call about 20(again due to my ignorance) lanes for shooting. I inquired a bit about this during my training and one can rent a gun(I don’t recall the price) and pay $ 20 for the privileges of shooting on the range and the provision of one target. For an amateur like me, I asked about the possibility of trying a number of different guns before determining which would be best to buy and my instructor explained that you can pay around $ 15 bucks and try out a particular gun. Overall, I look forward to spending some time here and appreciate the setup and that it’s pretty centrally located. I must confess that most newcomers will probably be a bit taken aback coming in here and seeing everyone walking around with holstered guns(not exactly the ideal person to provide customer service) but remember that you are a customer and go in and ask lots of questions. I can’t wait to go in for a day of shooting.

Excellent experience! Friendly, competent staff members provide great advice for all knowledge levels. We’ll be back for more purchases, to take classes and to use the range.
