I have had Directv for 15 yrs. I’ve been happy with the service for most of this time. I only recently began to observe that I use my streaming services — Hulu & Netflix more than directv. I called customer service just to see if they plan on making any adjustments to be more competitive with these other services that have popped up at a much more attractive price. Their response was«we realize you have other choices out there». I think these cable/satellite companies are going to go the way of blockbuster videos if they don’t come around to the reality of current viewing options available to the consumer.

I should give them no stars. They lie about the cost and keep jacking up the price. After being with them for 11 years I finally pulled the plug. $ 100 for watching TV is outrageous.

I think the Directv product is very good, but when something goes wrong in Santa Fe, customer service is terrible. The last time I called them because of a networking problem, the technician was rude, he said he showed up when I know he didn’t. I waited 4 hours. What’s worse, if something goes wrong with service there is no one to talk to locally.

I have been trying to bundle for 4 months now. DIRECTV blames CenturyLink and CenturyLink blames DIRECTV. Seems nobody knows anything, except how to collect payment. AVOIDDIRECTV.

LIARS! I googled Direct TV and I should’ve avoided this company from what I read but decided to call them anyway. They flat out lied to me about the cost of their services and Century Links prices also. After calling Century Link to schedule my appointment I found out that it would cost $ 59 plus a $ 99 modem instead of the $ 29 Direct TV quoted for installation. I called Direct TV back to ask about it and then found out they lied to me about the 2nd year of the contract also. What should’ve been a total of $ 148 for both TV and internet after their 3 month promotion turned out to be over a $ 160 for just the TV services alone. They offered me a $ 100 credit for my inconvenience and I agreed to downsize my package but after reading the Unilocal reviews I think it would be wise to cancel everything before they come out. Very bad and old school bait and switch practices.

We want to show our appreciation for Sonya in the retention dept. She has many good qualities and we are grateful and blessed as she has continually served us, the consumer. Directv’s partnership with centurylink in Phoenix, AZ has made us feel powerless. They refuse to acknowledge that a problem exists. We are standing our ground with centurylink knowing we will be victorious. We are no longer willing to be in the spirit of complaining. Directv can accomplish excellence if they divorce this zero to one star company. Also praising Paul and Riley, our original installers from directv.

When we moved to Santa Fe, we signed up for a «bundle» that was supposed to include Direct TV plus internet and phone from Centurylink, all for $ 99/month, «locked in» for 3 years. I verified this rate multiple times over the phone before signing up. Our first bill was for $ 154. The second bill was for $ 229. This is not what we signed on for. Direct TV tells us it will cost almost $ 500 to cancel our contract walk away. In my opinion, Direct TV should be prosecuted like an extortion racket or any other criminal enterprise. They have absolutely no business ethics.
