I think we found this place in late 2013 and we’ve been buying our tea there ever since. The first time I went in I was a total tea newbie and while I’m far from an aficionado I will at least drink tea now. I went in looking for unique Christmas gifts for my SO and ended up walking out with several different types of tea. This is a very cute store, it has lots of tea related trinkets and they have a seating area so you can enjoy some tea as well. I see some negative reviews mostly based on price and poor service so I’ll address those based on my experiences. Regarding price: this is a tea shop, it’s what they do… they have teas ranging from cheap to super expensive. I typically get the French Caramel Crème Brulee and it’s around 5 bucks an ounce but they do have cheaper teas. If you just want basic tea you can go to amazon and pick it up dirt cheap… do that. This is for people who love tea and want to try different flavors. We have a magnetic spice rack that holds 16 different types of tea which works out perfectly. Yes you can walk out spending $ 50 – 100 on tea, but you could also walk out for a few dollars. I’ve personally had excellent service every time I’ve gone in there, they were very helpful the first time I went in and knew literally nothing about tea, and they are willing to spend the time to listen to what you like and make recommendations. I have no clue if they are commission based or not but they seemed just as likely to suggest a cheap tea as an expensive one when I asked for assistance. I don’t know what I’ll do if this place ever closes down as I’ll likely never find«my» tea again…

My daughter went in to buy a two 4 oz. bags of tea. $ 54 later she left. What!!! I was blown away that they would take advantage of a younger buyer like this. According to my calculations, she overpaid by about $ 35. Neither she nor I will ever frequent this store. Beware!

Cute shop and café. I was a bit overwhelmed when I first entered but the awesome staff took me around the shop and explained the set up. They have a large selections of teas and you can smell all of them to help you choose. They also have 10 $ bags of 10 teas to try. There is a huge amount of tea stuff: cups, strainers, pots, thermos, and decorative items. They also have a selection of olive oils and balsamic vinegars and provide tastes to buyers. Greece, Italy, California, and Spain are home to these speciality oils. If that’s not enough they offer brewed teas and scones in a small dining area in the back. They offer free wifi and it seems like a super place to settle in as an alternative to a coffee shop. Total win, cute local joint, a massive selection to keep you going back. I will be sure to return when I have more time!

A friend recently recommended this place. From the second I walked in I was greeted and given a brief intro about the store. There were many high quality loose leaf teas to choose from and at great prices compared to Teavana. Overall the customer service was excellent and all the staff was friendly and informative. I will be buying my teas at this cute local shop from now on.

Having recently moved to ABQ, I’ve been on the lookout for some places to refill my tea stash, and this was a great find. I was in the area with my husband last weekend and we stopped in for a look. The owner was out of town but the lady working was very friendly and happy to make tea suggestions. Since it was quite a hot day, we both got an iced tea. Very refreshing :) I like how they have small single-serving packs of loose leaf for sale — a great way to try out a new tea without committing to a larger size. The setup of the shop was nice too, with wifi and some comfy spots to stay for a bit while enjoying your sips. I’ll definitely be back.

Love getting my bulk tea here & all the choices! Try the Assam or Star of India. Got a cup to go for the soccer field.

I have been here three times in 2013. My last visit I asked myself why I bothered giving them a third chance. They have a wide variety of teas but horrible service. During my first visit, the blond woman in her 40s completely ignored me. I was the only customer in the shop. She didn’t greet me or even crack a smile. The second visit was quick. I ran in and out to purchase a gift. My last(and final) visit was for a chai tea with almond milk. I had a 60 hour work week and needed chai tea on my only day off– Sunday. I asked if they could heat the milk. They began to bombard me with questions and comments such as «have you ever had warm almond milk! It’s disgusting!, why do you want the milk heated?, what is the objective of heating the milk? Our water is really hot and pouring cold milk in it will not cool it down.» I will never recommend this place to anyone. I recommend Hadley’s tea or NM tea company for quality teas and good service in NM. If you are looking for a cup of chai in NM, the Olive Café is the place to go.

Went in to look around today, super cute shop and the mother was very nice BUT the daughter was not! I inquired about a birthday party for my child and she informed me that they can do a party but if the children came out of the seating area her and I would be having«not so nice words with each other.» Not sure what that threat was supposed to mean, but it was not appreciated. She was rude and in her passive aggressive way let me know that she did not want to accommodate the party. I understand not wanting children in the place, but there is a friendly way of saying it. She was rude and I will never go back! St. James here we come.

My daughter and I love this place. It is run by a lovely woman and her mother, both of whom are there every time we have gone. The teas are out where you can see and smell them before purchasing them, and they have a huge variety. They will make you some there — hot or iced — or you can buy some to take home. There are lovely little surprises everywhere, lots of tea cups and pots and trinkets to look at, and a fragrance blending bar that we have yet to try. They usually have some scones or cookies or something you can get to go with the tea. There are tables where you can sit and relax or chat, and I can only imagine how much the younger girls must love going in and seeing the koi pond INSIDETHESHOP. Right? Little princess heads exploding, I would imagine. Don’t take the too-young ones in or you will be having a big you-break-it-you-buy-it moment, as there are tea cups EVERYWHERE, but for those 7 and up it is really adorable. SUPPORTLOCALSHOPS!!!

Fantastic little tea shop. They have all of their teas out for you to smell before deciding on what you want which is really nice. They have lots of little knick knacks and art to look at while drinking your tea. They’ve recently started selling pastries but I haven’t had a chance to have one yet. If you like tea parties, check out their Facebook page. They have themed tea parties planned for many Sundays out of the year.
