Great selection at the store which was clean and organized. The staff was fine but not friendly. They did not offer a please or thank you at all as we were checking out. They took our payment without engaging what-so-ever.

These guys were awesome. They were so helpful in a very stressful situation of my moving out of state. We had to get a lock welded off my car and they immediately sent us to a welder that did it on the spot. I can’t thank them enough for all their help. Kathy K

While it may be named and listed as a hardware store, it seems most people visiting Hardware Specialties for the first time are there to rent a U-Haul truck. And, like me, I can imagine many people thinking it’s a bit strange to rent a moving truck from a small, local, family-run hardware store that, let’s face it, isn’t going to wow anyone with the vastness of their stock. I was a bit hesitant. But my worries quickly disappeared. The gentleman who helped my wife and I, and whom I believe was one of the owners as well, was very friendly and gave us a couple of very useful pointers for saving money, time, and effort moving. He could have kept his mouth shut and let us spend another 30 bucks or so on stuff we wouldn’t have actually needed(such as moving pads or a dolly), but instead he was honest with us. I appreciate that. Had that been our only experience with Hardware Specialties, I would have given them 5 stars anyway. I was very pleased with their excellent service, competitive prices, and their professionalism. However, what really pushed the experience over the top is how they helped us address a problem we had a full week after we returned the truck. It wasn’t until we were completely done moving, unpacking, and arranging furniture that we discovered that we were missing a critical supporting beam for a futon. We had accidentally left it on the truck. They called us on moving day to tell us we left a piece of wood in the truck, but at the time, we thought it was nothing. Anyway, a week later we called them back, they still had the beam, we picked it up, and everything worked out well. I wouldn’t have blamed them if they threw the thing away after that first call, but their foresight in keeping it saved us a lot of time and a bit of money. Awesome. I would recommend Hardware Specialties to anyone wanting to rent a moving truck.
