I know this will come off as negative and maybe even a bit snarky & snooty, but I detest IHOP! They’re no different than Denny’s and Wecks, just larger maybe with more corporate advertising. In fact, lets face it, that’s really what they’re all about, advertising! Not necessarily great food and great service, but really good advertising to lure you in with their latest & greatest creation. My wife likes to go there from time to time for some«Regular Food,» as she describes it. And you know, a happy wife, happy life right? Otherwise I wouldn’t go. I hate waiting that long for a table &9 times out of 10 they’re understaffed, so the service generally blows, and I’m usually grumpy from the get go. Granted, if I were more affluent & had the entrepreneurial spirit, I’d love to own a franchise as this must be the epitome of a restaurant Gold Mine! Nevertheless, I never enjoy myself at an IHOP. I ordered a Blue Cheese Burger, and what I received was, well… not! My entire order was messed up, and to top it off, the burger itself was dry as a bone! I took two bites & surrendered! I settled for the scraps of my daughter’s chicken fried steak & a few bites of my wife’s sirloin tips. Admittedly, the latter was half decent, but nothing else really was and obviously I was not wild about the experience. I’ll only return when I’m forced to.

Went here today(Memorial Day) for breakfast after having to leave the IHOP on Central since they were out of brioche and crepes. The manager at the Central location was super defensive when I spoke with her about the problem, as it’s not the first time they’ve been out of what we wanted… specifically crepes(I would think it’d be difficult for a breakfast restaurant to be out of crepes as all you need is eggs, flour, and water). This location was packed but had all the food we wanted to order and had good, friendly, and fast service. When we want IHOP for breakfast we will not be returning to the Central location but will go straight the Menaul location.
